I'm 89 years old and I never thought I would be required to replace my toilet handle. Today it broke and now I have to replace it myself.. no money for a service visit. Your lesson on how to fix it is excellent! Thank you!
Thanks Matt I saw your name on your wrench my husband passed away a year ago and he did everything that could be fixed and I'm so glad I found this channel I will be on with you with everything I need to be fixed now I guess I became the man of the house LOL thank you so much for helping me fix the toilet handle I will come to you with anything else I need fixed I'm at ease now I'm in TH-cam University thanks again guy my name is Mary by the way
Thanks... you never know when you need a video like this. I remember finding your channel years ago when I needed to replace my oven light and your video to helped me.
Well that was really educational I'm a 62 years old, female and I gotta broken toilet seat handle and I gotta fix it!. Thank you for sharing I'll try my best!
Wow. Thank u so effing much! I fixed my gf's mom's toilet handle in her apartment (she didn't want to call maintenance)... this was such an easy replacement all because of your wonderful video! Seriously. U described each step so easily for anyone who is not too handy when it comes to toilets and the process was quick! Thanks again!
This was a great thing to learn! My problem is usually a toilet that just keeps running after its flushed. I jiggle the handle and it stops but I never removed the tank lid to see why it happens....
I like to put in the blue tablets but I could also put in a Clorox tablet too unless it fades my blue. I myself have put in a toilet handle , a 56 year old woman. I enjoyed the video!
Yes, I have done a lot of things off camera that I regret because they could have helped people out so I am happy to hear you say that. Thanks for checking it out and for the comment!
You did a good job. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 I have replaced a number of flush levers in my time But the difference between you and me I have never used a tool to untighten and tighten the nut All by hand 😂😂🇯🇲
Nice. Just simply turn water off before doing this then water won't keep running also, this plastic type will not crack the porcelain. You definitely don't won't to over-tight so you won't strip or crack the lever. I know you replaced the toilet but if you weren't planning that, then it's a great idea to buy the kit which has the flapper and the filler float as they usually go out and rubber/gaskets wear out.
My metal bar only stands straight right...how do I get it down some for room to have it travel up fir flush? No room and only sits one position?? Metal
Mine does not have a chain. I'm not sure if the one I purchased, which has holes, will work. I DID try to get the handle off by going the wrong way, so now it is really tight & I can't get it off. Wish I'd watched the videos first.
My handle when I press it down the stick hits the top of the cover of the toilet. How do I adjust it so the flapper goes all the way up without the stick hitting the cover
Make sure you are trying to loosen the reverse threaded nut in the proper direction. If it still fails to break loose with a wrench, spray a little WD-40 or penetrating oil around the nut and surrounding threads, and let let it sit awhile to help free it up. Then you should be able to loosen the nut with a wrench.
Ha! No that is an iPhone. You are actually the first person to point out my phone, which surprises me, I have it in almost every video. Thanks for watching!
So, if I ever need to replace a toilet handle in such a simple way that I can just follow the package directions, I won't need this TH-cam video to help. However, if what I have is NOT such a simple replacement but one where the old HANDLE is gone but NOT the white plastic seal in the hole, which is unfortunately left behind and entirely immovable so that I can't simply put a new handle straight from the package through an empty hole, how do I get that big plastic seal OUT OF THE HOLE first?!?!?

Thanks to you I'll do this today, first timer also. Almost 65 year old woman . (But I'm still fly! ;). Thank you!

Thats a good idea! Thanks for the tip, Diane!
Thank you! Easy to follow video.
Thanks! Sometimes it's the simple things that stump us. I had a toilet that didn't function for a couple of years. A simple fix I didn't know about.

That tank is really dirty I always put Clorox in side with soap powder keep it really clean thank you 😄
Yeah might be a good idea. Thanks for the tip, Gail! And thanks for checking out the video!
I've lived on septic half my life. No Clorox or harsh chemicals. Nothing except "natural" products.
@@evalynn7005 I agree. I'm also on septic and the installer said no bleach or harsh chemicals.
I'm not on Septic, but over time will the Clorox &/or Soap powder damage the other components?
awesome رائع
Thank you!

I recently changed the handle also. It was a cheap one from China that broke off. I had to go to a real plumber store and bought the metal one.
Yeah, I am hoping this one will last. Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment, Christine!
I had to do that as well recently. The damn chain kept slipping off
Yup, very annoying! Thanks for checking out the video!
My handle when I press it down the stick hits the top of the cover of the toilet. How do I adjust it so the flapper goes all the way up without the stick hitting the cover
The nut on the flusher is stuck. I've tried turning both ways. How can I unstick it?

No need for a plumber. Thank you.
Was that a flip phone on your hip? I need to go back to a simpler phone.
Ha! No that is an iPhone. You are actually the first person to point out my phone, which surprises me, I have it in almost every video. Thanks for watching!
