    I upgraded from the 2400G to the R7 2700, and then to the 5600X and finally the 5600X3D with my PowerColor Fighter RX6800 overclocked to 2450MHz. AM4 is an awesome platform and is probably the best PC gaming decision I ever made in 2018.

      It’s crazy how good AMD made this socket generation and it’s why I’m probably going to be on it for a little longer by getting a 5700X3D, how are you finding the 5600X3D? I would’ve got one but them being a Microcenter exclusive stopped that 😅

      Why'd you bother going from a 5600x to a 5600x3d do you just like burning money? I mean if your going to burn your money at least add a couple cores make it actually substantial.

      $160 USD for that??? No wonder you upgraded! You could've probably managed to sell the 5600X for around $100 at the time too, but fair play making a second system with what was left over haha, very lucky I must say so myself!

    WONDERFUL VIDEO! That must've been a lot of work and time invested into it, especially for a channel below 100 subs
    Btw, do you have plans on including the Power Consumption? It can even be the system as a whole through the wall with those "Power Meter Outlet" (unfortunately RDNA 2 GPU doesn't display the correct power consumption on software, so it has to be measure though something else =/)

      @MrTitanFTW  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That's very nice of you to say, thank you! Yeah this video took a lot of effort but I thoroughly enjoyed doing the testing.
      I was debating adding power consumption figures many times, and in fact I do have a smart socket somewhere in my house but just never plugged it into the wall 😂
      I'm not home at the moment but when I do get a chance I'll plug it in and do a few tests and get back to you with numbers - I'd be interested in knowing what the numbers are myself!

      Hey, I was meant to get back to you the other day but got a little distracted with life admin and making a new video. I just done a power consumption test there with PBO enabled along with the GPU overclocked and undervolted with a smart plug. I measured 110W idle (although I believe this is a little high due to my Memory Clock being locked on the GPU) I would say a more accurate figure is probably in the region of 50W idle, and I measured about 380W under full load when doing a benchmark of Cyberpunk 2077. I then tried the stability test available from OCCT and found the power consumption reach a maximum of 480W with an average of roughly 440W - 470W. Hope that's of help!

      Love the work Steve and Tim do! Making this video has made me respect them and others in the space so much more (Gamers Nexus, LTT, etc.) The amount of data you have to gather for each game, to then potentially re-testing a game if the data doesn't seem quite right is a painful process but it's key to make sure everything is accurate, and I'm sure it's the same for the likes of Hardware Unboxed and for that, massive respect has to be given to them, appreciate the compliment!

    Last I checked, the RX 6800 was going for about 370 USD (480 CAD) here in Canada. It's easily one of the best value graphics card options available right now.
    Keep in mind also that the build quality of even the cheapest RX 6800s is often a lot higher than a lot of cards which are only 50-100 USD cheaper, because it was originally a high-end card.
    The 6800 XT and 7800 XT are also likely a good value, depending on the price you can find, and the 7700 XT has been as low as 350 USD, which is also a pretty good deal, though having less memory is definitely a drawback.

    • @MrTitanFTW
      @MrTitanFTW  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yup, the value of this card is insane. Shocked more people haven't caught on especially with how well it does when undervolted and overclocked and how little power it sips from the wall even with default settings compared to other cards.
      I think the one big selling point for me would be AV1 encoding on the 7000 series, especially for people into livestreaming on Twitch or TH-cam, AV1 is supported and has much better image clarity than HEVC that the 6000 series has. I've found myself from time to time looking to possibly get a 7900 GRE but I'm very happy with the 6800 for now!

      Hey there, I have power consumption numbers, but I sadly don't have temperature numbers right now, but temperature can vary depending on your room temperature, case, CPU cooler, case fans, and even the fan curves haha. But, I believe with the undervolt and overclock I don't go over 70 Degrees Celsius on the GPU, and the CPU reaches about 76 Degrees Celsius maximum, but, then again, I have my fans running at a lower speed than usual!
      As for power consumption I had PBO enabled along with the GPU overclocked and undervolted with a smart plug. I was lucky and snagged a rx6800 in early 2021 and have been loving it ever sense. I also play at 4k resolution most of the time. I turn FSR on for a higher refresh experience if I want 100 fps or more.
    Its kind of funny how little attention this graphics card got back when it released and now its pretty much the best Value in pc gaming cheaper than most other GPU and more performance/VRAM as well.
    I see it for 330-360$ pretty much all the time in the US new on amazon and newegg/other retailers. Honestly the 6800/xt are also a steal used often under 250$.
    This is a beast of a graphics card still and def still upper mid range in my opinion because it can stretch to 4k and high refresh 1440p in most titles.
    The titles it cant are titles a 4090 also struggles in or w/e other gpu you want to list off also struggles.

      I fully agree with you, I am still stunned how this card went under the radar to so many people. I initially hesitated when purchasing it as everyone was going for the 6800 XT, but considering at the time that card was about €150 more expensive, it didn't make much sense to me. Luckily I play a lot of eSports games anyway so I'm not in the market for a super high end card like an RTX 4090 and I believe I'll be holding onto this card for a good while longer, unless I bite the bullet and get a smaller case (the XFX cards are massive).

    Hey I'm looking at the XFX website for your GPU, and the "Minimum Power Supply Requirement" is listed at 750W. I'm thinking of upgrading to similar components. Looking at your PSU, do you think this "requirement" is more of a recommendation? Thanks, and great video

      Ah I was in a similar position to you actually - scoured Reddit and other places and everyone said that I’d need an 850W PSU for the 6800 XT, so I opted for the 6800. As long as you get a DECENT 650W PSU then everything runs smooth, haven’t had any power issues with mine!

      @user-wq9mw2xz3j 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      it matters what else you use in your pc. A 14900k uses 400w in highest load, and an overclocked rx 6800 it can draw 260w under load. Then 650w is not enough and you need 750w if you will put both under 100% load at the same time.
      But if you have a 5600x which draws 65w and normal rx 6800 usually draws 220w, then even a 500w psu is enough.

      @@MrTitanFTW Yes I managed to snag one from a local retailer that had them on the floor but with the labels for a 240hz oled so I got it for only 799 as they honored the price. I like to max the ram on builds as that can be the biggest limiting factor to the PC in the future and I prefer not to want to worry about upgrading it later. I am upgrading from the alienware 500hz 1080p ips monitor from like 1 or 2 years ago. Its nice. I do like to have the ram though for messing around with side projects.
      The build is on a Gigabyte Pro Ice X870E with 4x 4TB NVMEs Gen 4. Its a nice build for sure. I never imagined Id have no need for sata ssds. My 5950X rig is running 2x 2tb nvmes and 3x 2tb sata ssds with an 8tb hdd. On an Asus X570 Pro.
      My third build was a recently ported over build that had a 13900/128GB/4080...I RMA the 13900 and got sent a 14900K as the 13900 burned up... I got basically by scavaging the local Best Buy for return items at huge discounted return items. The 4080 was gotten for 790 dollars a month after launch, was running hot...repasted it and its been great since. That build is running 4 2TB NVMEs.
      I did just throw together a build for my girl with a 7700X/64GB DDR5 7000/7800XT as well all pink and got for a good price. with a pixio 4k 160hz ips monitor.

      That deal on the ASUS OLED is a steal, especially at $799, considering how insane those specs are. OLED 1440P at 480Hz must look insanely good, and I completely get your logic on maxing out the RAM, I'm very much noticing the negative effects of having only 16GB especially when editing videos in Premiere Pro.
      I'm imagining you're over in the states with deals like that - we get royally screwed in the EU when it comes to PC parts and I was very much lucky to get my RX 6800 for €490 back in November/December of 2021/2022 (forget the year), all other ones available at the time were €650+, so that's my best deal to date haha!
      Might have to check out that 4K 160Hz IPS from Pixio, didn't know they were still in the monitor game.

      Not entirely true actually. Whilst extreme overclocking can decrease the lifespan of components, the type of overclocking which I feature in the video is a very safe overclock + with an undervolt applied it would actually prolong the lifespan of the component itself as not as much power is getting pushed to it also resulting in less heat!
