Man, I can't tell you how much your videos help! Still struggling with Winlink and getting setup but really enjoying your channel. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos!
Have a similar setup, but one thing to note about the phone. Even if not activated, all cellphones should be able to call 911. We used to collect old cellphones to give out to victims of domestic abuse, etc. in case an emergency came up (e.g., abuser violating court orders). Never needed to activate them for this need.
I think its amazing how open these parts of ham radio were in describing and promoting the whole minimal communications setup! (you're quite awesome but I'd like to see an HF setup that size more). I'm busy researching how we can hack the radios in phones as an open source project you can install if you want to provide true p2p cell for at least texts. I'm also considering how we can run logic from the combined internet as a small-mid sized group operating on a specific set of HF freqs, while being distributed internationally!
Been looking for a winlink client for the iPhone. So far I’m coming up empty. Is there a client out there I may have missed? Don’t want to add yet another device to my kit.

Fantastic Load Out. You know how much I like go-kits/bags. Everything in its place and ready to go.
You and me both! Wonder which of us has more bags? lol
@@KM4ACK I sure hope you're winning. I've been downsizing and I promise I've only gotten 3 since Huntsville.

Could you do (or have you already done) a tutorial on how to use WoAD? I struggle with it.
Coming in next week's video :-)
Would really like to see the same kit, but HF (with a trusdx or something similar). Cheers
WoAD is going to be a gamechanger. Finally!
It is pretty sharp :-)

Awesome piece of kit!

If i were to use a Baofeng with a btech audio interface cable into the android tablet, would you still need the mobilinkd?
Great video, very informative and you inspired me to make a small emcomm kit!
Glad to hear it!
Good stuff Jason, I'm learning alot from your video's.👍
Thanks 👍
Do you have a link for the pouch featured in this vid? Thanks

There's not one for iPhone that I am aware of. That's why I opted for the pre-paid droid.
Excellent!
does the phone need to be unlocked?
I didn't have to unlock mine
Nice kit! Have you looked at the Linux based pinephones?
I have but not in the last 6 months or so. Last I saw them reviewed, they didn't seem ready for prime time but maybe it's time to look again.
Really slick setup Jason, I'm going to have to look into building out something similar!
Thanks!
I can do Winlink on Android!? Game changer! Do you have any tutorial on WoAD?
The tutorial is coming Friday!
@@KM4ACK Looking forward to it. Just subscribed
