The Saga of Notre Dame Part IV And At Last, The Bells Five years it’s been since that dread night When the world was treated to the sight The fire that threatened with terrible glow The Notre Dame and the Windows Rose A fire that raged all through the night Lit from within, the windows alight The Windows Rose from long ago Were threatened by a fire’s glow. And lo, the sun’s first rays did show Not one or two of the Windows Rose All three survived, and the tears did flow The sun shone bright, and the Windows glowed. And one year later, 'midst plague we did see the streets were empty, as they should be But some few came to mark the day of the year before when the world did pray and that day, the bells rang out to mark the Church and nation against the Dark they survived the fire, they'll survive the plague they survive no matter how dark the day and the Church that looks the centuries down stands in the middle of Paris town with the Windows Rose lit by sun's glow and the bells ring out, and onward France goes. Two years had passed, since that dread night When fire set Notre Dame alight France sang and prayed two years ago Through fire’s deadly, ash-choked glow. But listen, my children, and you shall hear Of trees that were planted many a year Before that night, when the spire fell So listen, good people, and let me tell Those trees were planted, ‘gainst day of need And many years later, are needed indeed For France rebuilt the Notre Dame But not with steel; no, not at all They built the Church in the same way They built it then, and again today With wood and craft and loving care Till spire arises into the air And a day did dawn, as dawn it must And Frenchmen peered through craftsmen’s dust At a grand old church, a famous nom The chapel in France called Notre Dame No trace of fire was there to be found And all of Paris did hear the sound Of bells to mark the joyous way Of A Church reborn, again that day And Frenchmen will cheer in speech and song A fire survived, of a right once wronged Notre Dame reopens, the sun’s arose And shines again on the Windows Rose. And five years later, the church stands tall Rebuilt, and proud, to welcome all The spire rises into the air The bells now sound, and look you there The church survived that night of flame And France and the world together came To build it back, the world to show The Notre Dame and the Windows Rose. facebook.com/share/r/omBWevGBXa3CStGo/
The fire could have been the result of contractor negligence. It could have been the result of terrorism. Someone's gotten off the hook. Where was the fire watch?
Agreed. I can't imagine being so negligent to let a beloved centuries-old building, one of the prides of your country, catch fire. So- something is definitely up...

Re: "Someone's gotten off the hook" A Billion Dollars from privet donations... How much did the Trillion dollar Catholic Church (Corporation) invest back into reconstruction...? Just asking...
I am very confused about the dates and other facts I've heard and read about Notre Dame. I just watched another video than claims the church burned five years ago. This one says four. I read online that the building originally took about 80 years to build but that other video calmed in took almost 200. Bannister Fletcher's "A History of Architecture" claims the dates as 1163 to 1250. It is amazing to see the church as clean as when it was built. It is amazing that now so fresh how modern it actually looks. It says precision and clarity. I thought I was seeing sums being raised for reconstruction in the billions years ago. but apparently it was a lot less expensive than expected. They still have to clean the exterior? All that beautiful timber shoring and vault centering looks like it could be a building somewhere in it's own right. I wonder if there are any plans for it?
Hard to say why these discrepancies in length without knowing which sources you looked at. But it usually comes from what you consider as the completion stage, which is up for debate with such a large building which got additions or modifications over time. Was it complete when it first hosted a mass, with just half a roof? When the last stone was put on? The last tainted glass? Official dates are 1163-1345, so roughly 200 years. In some ways, you could say it was completed when it received its final spire, Viollet-Le Duc’s, in 1859, so it took 700 years to build😊 As for the reconstruction budget, initial estimates was 700-900m euros, it will end up around 850m euros. You might find slightly different figures because, here as well, it depends what you count. Only the reconstruction of the building itself? Do you also include the cost of reshaping the surroundings, for instance the square in front of it, « le Parvis »?
@@tixien - i have a; library of architectural reference books. The Bannister Fletcher book I cited before. He was a British architectural historian from maybe a century ago. For my addition from the 70s there doesn't seem to be a date. That 700 year figure makes sense. You could even say the buildings was never finished and the current rebuilding adds even more years to it's construction..Couldn't you say it will never be finished because both towers were supposed to have oak spires like Chartres and so many others? I don't recall where I read or heard that. It looks like it could have had spires. Maybe they were afraid to risk the wind forces on so much additional surface area that might put too much stress on those very tall openings around the belfry spaces at the top? They couldn't buttress them. I understand that St. Peters was also supposed to have tower stories at each end on the Maderna facade. They actually tried to construct one but cracks soon developed and they quickly tore it down. That was a problem with insufficient foundation support. The Saga of Notre Dame
Part IV
And At Last,
The Bells
Five years it’s been since that dread night
When the world was treated to the sight
The fire that threatened with terrible glow
The Notre Dame and the Windows Rose
A fire that raged all through the night
Lit from within, the windows alight
The Windows Rose from long ago
Were threatened by a fire’s glow.
And all of France rushed to the scene
Their goal, save all that saved could be
A grand old Church built long ago
Lit from within by dread fire’s glow.
They fought and sweated all night long
While Frenchmen cheered in speech and song
To save the church from long ago
From fire’s deadly, ash-choked glow.
And dawn returned, as all dawns must,
And Frenchmen peering through ash and dust
For just one glimpse of the Windows Rose
That fire threatened by midnight’s glow.
And lo, the sun’s first rays did show
Not one or two of the Windows Rose
All three survived, and the tears did flow
The sun shone bright, and the Windows glowed.
And one year later, 'midst plague we did see
the streets were empty, as they should be
But some few came to mark the day
of the year before when the world did pray
and that day, the bells rang out to mark
the Church and nation against the Dark
they survived the fire, they'll survive the plague
they survive no matter how dark the day
and the Church that looks the centuries down
stands in the middle of Paris town
with the Windows Rose lit by sun's glow
and the bells ring out, and onward France goes.
Two years had passed, since that dread night
When fire set Notre Dame alight
France sang and prayed two years ago
Through fire’s deadly, ash-choked glow.
But listen, my children, and you shall hear
Of trees that were planted many a year
Before that night, when the spire fell
So listen, good people, and let me tell
Those trees were planted, ‘gainst day of need
And many years later, are needed indeed
For France rebuilt the Notre Dame
But not with steel; no, not at all
They built the Church in the same way
They built it then, and again today
With wood and craft and loving care
Till spire arises into the air
And a day did dawn, as dawn it must
And Frenchmen peered through craftsmen’s dust
At a grand old church, a famous nom
The chapel in France called Notre Dame
No trace of fire was there to be found
And all of Paris did hear the sound
Of bells to mark the joyous way
Of A Church reborn, again that day
And Frenchmen will cheer in speech and song
A fire survived, of a right once wronged
Notre Dame reopens, the sun’s arose
And shines again on the Windows Rose.
And five years later, the church stands tall
Rebuilt, and proud, to welcome all
The spire rises into the air
The bells now sound, and look you there
The church survived that night of flame
And France and the world together came
To build it back, the world to show
The Notre Dame and the Windows Rose.

We will have until the end of the week, and if we pay him, he will swear by Allah that he will throw us out into the street without mercy. See my situation for yourselves. I ask you by Allah, the Living, the Eternal, to help me. By Allah, the Almighty, even at night we cannot sleep from fear. We do not have mattresses or blankets to warm ourselves from the cold. Everything is flooded from the rain, and we have no one but Allah and then you. My brothers, I kiss your boots, don’t turn me away empty-handed. Help us with whatever you can. Is it acceptable to you that we live in this place? We are girls and we have no one. Our father died in a car accident. Consider us your daughters and your honor, and help me with whatever you can. May God reward you with good =>[[}>] ^][/*&;;&;&&;•̥·-`.`.`.`.`.•.,¸-•.,¸°꒰·̮ •̥·°`.`.`… nn…...............l ...... ……… .j… ,,,……… ..i. .......l,.. ,..............jl. .. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i,,,,,____
THE GREATEST TEMPLE HAS ALREADY BEEN GLORIOUSLY RESTORED CENTURIES and CENTURIES AGO BY THE HOLY SPIRIT…JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF…🕊️✝️🌈
By who? 😅 The man they created for a simple book they named the bible. It's about as real as the scientology books written by a loon who more science fiction in life never once making a second draft. Being paid a penny per word 😂
⛪⛪⛪😊😊😊🌺🌺🌺
Notre Dame has the new god smell.
MVEMENT -😜🤪😝🤑👿 GOTT
Its the house of Mother Mary. Disappointing report from sixty minutes.
No, not to the glory of France.
It's to the glory of the Living, Almighty God!
A Billion Dollars from privet donations...
How much did the Trillion dollar Catholic Church (Corporation) invest back into reconstruction...?
Just asking...
What’s so hard to understand about the churches wealth being in it’s properties, art and priceless artifacts? It doesn’t have much cash.
Since 1789, Notre dame is the property of French State and Citizens of France, not Catholic Church !
churchs and cathedrals are properties of the state in France. the donations did not go to the catholic church. but deep down, the cathedral was rebuilt so i guess the process did work.
DEUS VULT. Notre Dame stands!

My appeal to every Muslim, my brother or sister, the owner of the channel, I know that it is not my right to comment on your channel, but God is my witness that our circumstances are harsh and forced me to do this. Please forgive me. My brother, there is still a brotherhood of faith. I asked you for a bag of flour. My brother, we women cannot go out among men. There is still a woman with you. My brother, God has honored you. You are men. We are women. We cannot go out or work like you. My brother, where is the brotherhood of faith in your hearts? We are women. There is no brotherhood, no mercy, no compassion, no humanity. And give good tidings to the patient. It is the greatest hope while waiting for what we want. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' How many times I called and talked and tried hard, but no one responded. Oh man, we are with you. My mother ordered us food from the restaurant. More and today. My mother left. Crying. She said, Why are you crying, my mother? She said, My daughter, I ask. God, that I may be honored by death. She said, Why, my mother. She cursed us. She said, "My daughter, today the restaurant owner insulted me. I said, 'Why?' I said, 'How can I be better than people?' I ask God, my daughter. May God gather me. With death alone, a gathering that is better than this humiliation and this humiliation. It is true. I am saying this. It diminishes my value and respect. But, man. I swear to God that I did not say this. I kiss your boots. I am so hungry that my conscience no longer allows me to let you go and ask us for food. I kiss your boots, man, and I ask you by God Almighty and in the Book of God, man, I kiss your boots, man. He has caused us harm, my brother, so that we can buy a kilo of flour and pay the rent. My brother, have mercy on us. He who is in the show will have mercy on you, He who is in the sky. My brother, this is my WhatsApp number: 00967783731160. Whoever can help us, message me on WhatsApp. We will send him the full name. He will transfer us as much as he can. May Allah reward you.
