“LA VIDA ES UN SUEÑO” is the first single off the new “CHOLOGOTH” album and the first song that PRAYERS, the groundbreaking electronic cholo goth duo originally from San Diego have created all in Español.
“It’s close to my heart for several reasons, one being that it consists of old Mexican sayings, that every Mexican, including myself, heard growing up,” says Leafar Seyer (vox, lyrics and founder of the cholo goth movement).
These sayings teach us about life, they are pearls of wisdom. If you’re listening to “LA VIDA ES UN SUEÑO” for the very first time and you’re Mexican, a quarter of the way through the song (maybe sooner) you’ll start singing it word for word. It’ll feel familiar as if you wrote it and in a way you did, we all did.
The lyrics are aphorisms passed down from parents and grandparents. Many Mexican children heard their tios and tias, primos and primas speak these phrases in times of joy and pain. “I hear my father every time I hear this song,” says Leafar.

Hi, so I just wanted to translate this to english in case someone wondered what's the meaning. First of all, lyrics use a word that can be peyorative to certains groups or a simple way to call a friend, or an enemy (words have a lot of uses in Mexico) so i'll just avoid it with ****.

Like I love all their stuff, but this song seems to have jumped up to a whole new song writing and producing level and I love it! Good job! I can't wait to hear more from you! Even though I got no idea what the lyrics say, the music and vocals is so expressive it resonates in me and that is what really matters. Visual part is stunning too. Overall one of the best things I've seen so far in 2020!

I'm all caught up on the Iron Jacket drama and despite that he's the best part in this video. His blue eyes made him look even more mysterious in the video. The tattoos, the red paint, the dancing, the gestures all worked. An old 60's convertible black Cadillac would have also worked for the video but I guess all the kids want to see a Rolls. It's unfortunate Iron Jacket isn't the real deal but most people in videos aren't.
