Morbius movie didn’t work as well but at least it make the character fascinating for the audience proving that him and Eddie Brock/ Venom are MORE that just supervillains who wasted their time fighting Spider-Man for some reason.
Not gonna lie, testing out his powers in isolation precisely because he is a scientist who recognizes the dangers of what he's doing actually makes this a unique and interesting scene. He's not just gonna fly free and go "whohoooo!" like all the other super heroes like ironman or spiderman.
