Stunning final pieces. Great craftswomanship!
Thank you for sharing your talents. These are very beautiful. I have some mokume gain that is 2mm thick. I see a lot of people making the mokume rings as one solid piece. I’m glad I watched this video because now I will go ahead and use my metal and solder my joints. Thanks for translating. It was well worth the effort. I hope you can translate this as well.❤🇨🇦
I came across this by chance, having never heard of mokume-gane. It's always thrilling to see an artist create something so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
Stunning workmanship, and thank you for the English transation.

Beautiful work.
The rings are stunning. I love your work. Mokumé-gané is my favourite technique. It's fun and satisfying to make.
I have been making damascus knives but now getting into jewelery. This is amazing! I can not wait to try it. The rolling mill will be my biggest purchase but it is so versatile, it will be wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your techniques with this very clear video. Your work is amazing.
Thanks for your compliments, I hope that more people now come to appreciate the craftsmanship, even in difficult times like now (crisis 2011).

do you always use borax? i do a little work w/ platinum & use batterns or aquaflux. I really want to try making a set for myself & fiance from Pt95% Co5% & grey palladium. cant find Pt w/ Co state-side in small ammounts... i want that slight blueish lustre...
Cool.
Fascinating. Beautiful work and entertaining video. Thank you.
What is the music? It is mesmerizing.
hey fantastic work just a couple of questions with soldering the rings how is the pattern kept consistent I mean so the join is not visible? also after you twist the bar could you also hammer square again then put through the rollers to avoid cutting through the length of the bar? again fantastic video keep it up
+Anthony Maione you can soldering the juncture in the form of the pattern (oblique). The last question, I don't understand, but please join us on facebook.com/groups/mokume.gane.schmiede/ there you can ask more questions about Mokume-gane.
Great work! what are you soldering with?
Birgit-thank you for sharing your techniques with this excellent video. One question: what is liquid spiritus, the blue liquid you quenched in? I am a Canadian goldsmith, and have never seen anything like this... We quench in mild acid, or just water, mostly...
In the video you reinforced the billet with solder before twisting correct? I was wondering what type of solder you used...?
Hi,
It's increlable work, thanks for sharing this video, what kind of gold do you used to work with.
thanks
See for information on doesdesign.nl/sieraad/mokume-gane-trouwringen-bara
What type of metals are you using?
U are using soldering to solder the seam/gap in the ring together ....
1:What is it that you cooled the ring in?2: Where can I get the gold layers from?
that she "cooled" the ring? You can buy scrap gold layers of any gauge from a jewelry supplier
Dear Joris, I quench the Mokume in a blue alcohol which is called in the Netherlands as Spiritus, I don't know the exact word for it in English ;( We (international goldsmiths) have on Facebook a group where we help each other, there you also can ask many questions about this technique. Greetings Birgit
That's shown in part 1.
