We can't refine the oil we produce. Environmentalist made sure of that. We can only refine sweet crude. What we produce is oil shale. Also, with the Government's push to "go electric" with replacing anything that is fueled by gas, gasoline/diesel, coal, heating oil etc. the utility companies MUST raise the "baseline" or tier 1 usage category along with it. The "average" user will by then have increased "minimum" usage of power as a result so the "average" customer will likely triple their electric usage which means instead of 30 days of power that "should average" this much today will like only serve the customers for 10 days.

All kinds of news, just don't know what to do sometimes. Just do what you need to do for yourself. Go by your gut feeling. Yes, you can take advice, but in the end, you need to decide what's best for you.
Prices are high because of unrestrained Government spending. The more money that’s printed and “given” away to special interests like EV and Solar producers devalues the dollar and causes all prices to rise. Fact of life.
Usually gas prices adjust to the inverse of what politicians project. I know… years ago they said gas would be $5 per gallon at minimum. I traded a Tahoe in for a Camry at this time (2007 timeframe). Just to see gas prices tumble. Never will I listen to them again.
Scotty, first, no one's making you get rid of your electric stove. Second, no one's building gas into new construction anymore, at least not in apartment buildings, condos, or townhouses in NJ. They're 100% electric; hot water, heat, and yes, stove. But the stoves are not your grandma's electric stove, they're induction. Induction electric stoves are over 90 energy efficient. In contrast even the best gas stoves can be as low as 40% (or less) energy efficient.
Induction can be as efficient as they want but I just replaced my induction cooktop, which was relatively new and high end, with gas, and in terms of cooking it’s a MASSIVE improvement I’m kind of a foodie myself and very passionate about cooking, maybe I care more than most people about it, but I’m willing to pay the higher gas prices if it means I can keep the better appliance
@@MrPoppyDuck Gas heat won't work either in many cases without power since most gas heating systems have automatic electric spark systems to fire the boiler.

So is Natural gas.

Glad I don’t live in one of these s holes 😂
Induction can be as efficient as they want but I just replaced my induction cooktop, which was relatively new and high end, with gas, and in terms of cooking it’s a MASSIVE improvement
I’m kind of a foodie myself and very passionate about cooking, maybe I care more than most people about it, but I’m willing to pay the higher gas prices if it means I can keep the better appliance
but can you pump your own electrons in new jersey tho?
