I can't stop watching this! The way she hits the beats and the inflections of the music is just insanley good. Some of the best choreography to match the music i've ever seen. Come to england and teach!! x
thanks 4 the vid...amazing, astonishing, awe-inspiring, awesome, exciting, hair-raising, heart-stirring, impressive, magnificent, moving, overwhelming, spine-tingling, stunning, thrilling...to put in a nutshell...ZOE>>=UNIQUE!!! please post more of Zoes performances....
That turn at 33 seconds is one of the most dramtaic, amazing, and awesome things I have ever seen in dance in my ENTIRE LIFE, and I've been dancing for almost 2 decades... *glee* ~Specter aka Khayala
OMG i love Zoe Jakes! She was awesome when Bellydance Superstars came to Vancouver in March, amazing locking, I could watch her, Rachel Brice, and Samantha Hasthorpe all day! my faves!
First song is lov me love me by flux information science, available on itunes. Second is intertwine by beats antique, available on amazon, among other places.
I just turned to this while listening to "Daze" on the new Beats Antique album, so reflexively this video got muted. W/some awesome twist of fate however, Zoe's beautiful movements synced up perfectly w/the music of "Daze" -w/o my even trying- & it was one tremendously neat experience. (Now I'll just have to watch this again w/the sound on! Oh darn! ;D) Someday, I -WILL- get to go to TribalFest! -And hopefully, I'll also sing for a great band like BA, too. ^_^ Thanks for sharing this video!
its on itunes, the first one at least. Love me Love me by flux information sciences, the second is on the Beats antique cd, you can order that from amazon.
@tykaful The first song, (starting at around 0:06 and ending around 1:32) is "Love Me Love Me Love Me" by Flux Information Sciences. The 2nd song, starting at 1:32-end is "Intertwine" by Beats Antique.
Songs: "Love Me Love Me" by Flux Information Sciences (first part) "Intertwine" by Beats Antique from their Tribal Derivations album (Second Part) This is what brought me to Tribal Fusion Belly Dance.
a few already wrote that, but i write 4u once more if u need: Intertwine by Beats Antique, and the well-known dancer is Zoe Jakes, a memeber of the Indigo tribal group.
This is zoe... my friend who is also head of our own troup has pictures of zoe and Rachel on her myspace page when they met them before I came into the troupe
Hey everyone the song is Love Me Love Me by... Flux information Sciences .... I'm pretty sure someone already said this in the comments, but just fyi. =)
Olá my name is Karla Tem Tem is of egipcia origin and liked music very where the Zhoe dancer danced in this festival and would like to know the name of music to be able to have is thankful since already abraços Karla: *
i think one of the best little under rated things she and RB do is their arms. They frame well what they are doing the hands are gracefull and they flow with the rest of their body. I see so many arms that are being forced into place. it's like it's ok to move that arm a bit further down just relax into it and it won't be so hard. I'm still not all the way there.
I wish I knew the name of that first song bit. It sounds like she mixed her own song, but in the beggining I really like the that part. So if anyone knows, hit me up!
For those of u tha are sayin what the song is or who want the song u've been givin these ppl the wrong band the band is Flux Information Sciences not Flux Information Science this maybe why u havnt been able to find it im not sure if u can get it other places online
Whereas Rachel Brice may be more refined, technical, and serpentine in technique and skill, Zoe is just downright entertaining, fun to watch, and combines the isolation and style of pop-and-lock with the fluid, seductive movements of belly dancing.
she's an extremely talented dancer...but sometimes i wonder, as an artist, what sort of reaction is she expecting to get from her audience? =) intimidation? awe? fear? =D lol! i just mean, the choreography is there for a reason, right? rachel brice is a dancer of the same ilk, just that her version of tribal bellydance actually makes me want to take it up for myself =) there's almost a celebratory quality to her dance, as compared to zoe's =) I love and respect both artists though! cheers =)
yes true but i showed this to my friend and he pointed out that she looks like a regal bird and i completely agree. cus birds are very isolated in many of there movements. so she looks like both lol

She's dope. I love the pictures she paints with her body. Beautiful!

Kim/Zoe has always been a very fine dancer and now she is just brilliant! Way to go girl! Miss ya - Donna
I'm so jealous at how well she moves. I wanna be able to a) have that much confidence and b) captivate an audience while executing moves that well.

THIS IS AMAZING DANCE INDEED, I HAVE TO SAY ITS A SWIRVEY SWAY ,LOL LUV IT, SHE ROCKS ON,, AS I HAVE TO SAY,
they just have similar tattoos in the same place. but it is zoe. you can look at and compare in pics of them. they both just have a tattoo there.
that is my girl man! i have so much to learn...
Haha...somebody in the audience said, "Hell Yeah!" This was the first time I heard it, or ever payed attention to it! HAHA : )
I looove this song =) zoe is awesomeee
The move on 1:14 is just a downward figure eight followed by a torso slide and then a head slide.
Love her spins, she's so centred (gotta admire centred spins, as a figure skater!).
beautiful! Nice! linda! Maravilhosa
cant get enough of this performance ,lovee it.. i kno the second song is interwine but whats the first song?

Eu tenho o album da Zoe disponibilizei na internet .... me mandem o email.
Her style is captivating, very fusion, very postmodern.
I wish I knew the name of that first song bit.
It sounds like she mixed her own song, but in the beggining I really like the that part.
So if anyone knows, hit me up!
She looks so powerful!
AT times less is more ! She does it perfectly !
For those of u tha are sayin what the song is or who want the song u've been givin these ppl the wrong band the band is Flux Information Sciences not Flux Information Science this maybe why u havnt been able to find it im not sure if u can get it other places online

Justamente como bien dice Pracca, esa es la intención. Zoe maneja perfectamente la técnica de locks y disociaciones del Hip Hop. Lo de la cabeza es una de las cosas más dificiles de perfeccionar.

I would really like to know what the name of the slow song is as well- could someone tell me please? : )

i agree, it seems much better when she smiles
i NEED to know what artist this is!
what is the name of the song?
Whereas Rachel Brice may be more refined, technical, and serpentine in technique and skill, Zoe is just downright entertaining, fun to watch, and combines the isolation and style of pop-and-lock with the fluid, seductive movements of belly dancing.
She ruled it
she's an extremely talented dancer...but sometimes i wonder, as an artist, what sort of reaction is she expecting to get from her audience? =) intimidation? awe? fear? =D lol!

Great!
what s the name of the song????
"HELL YEAH"
yes true but i showed this to my friend and he pointed out that she looks like a regal bird and i completely agree. cus birds are very isolated in many of there movements. so she looks like both lol
Do you have any idea about the modern goth subculture =\
i mean her torso is shorter than normal, it seems maybe longer because her legs are short:)
