- So this isn't really a ship video but there is a bit of that undertone. It just looks like they're nice to each other. I have a soft spot for Helaena and just want her to be happy.

Yes! in the book, Aemond and Helaena died on the exactly same day, she commits suicide exactly after his death in Gods eye. Now, think about the fact that here they are introducing her to us as a person who has visions... 👀

After Blood and Cheese (her son's murder), Helaena actually went into a constant depressive state that lasted for years. But the day she finally committed suicide was the exact same day Aemond died: "On the twenty-second day of the fifth month of 130 BC, at sunset". This is the description of the day of death of both characters, they died on the same day at the same time. Of course, it is common for people to theorize why these events happened at the same time. Also, Helaena never loved Aegon. Helaena and Aegon's marriage is extremely unhappy in both the show and the book. They didn't even sleep in the same room! aside from the fact that Aegon constantly cheated on her with other women... The thing you said with Rhaenys also didn't happen???

Honestly I don’t think it was intended. But who knows. There’s some details in the books that I found suspicious. Like the whole son for a son line, and the fact that Haleana kills herself when Aemond gets killed.

Both have different personalities so I understand this pairing gets attention lately. I mean the potential and attraction of the relationship possibly happened off-screen. They look beautiful together too on screen.

Why change a mayor event for written in the book like Aemon being the one to take offence and watch them dance while Aegon clearly doesn’t care. Which in the book he cared. And now make Aemond this ambitious. Aemond voice that the crown looked better on him than I n Aegon but he never voiced it the way they made it in show
Is kind of like what they did with daemon and Rhaenrya. Specially on daemon’s part. Make him so faithful to Rhaenrya. Like 10 years wanting to be with her while with leana and 6 years of living happily in dragon stone. In the book he continue to see Mysaria while married to both but in the show they down played Mysaria.

Also this Helaena is very different in the book she was very sociable, stood with Aegon, wasn’t a dreamer and she had a good relationship with alicent. Which we can clearly see she doesn’t in the show.
@@paulabarra5431 Also he takes another mistress Nettles while with Rheanyra. When Rheanyra orders Nettles killed Daemon won't do it. I wish the show was more loyal to the source material. It's too soppy now

@@thefinal9923 they are killing Lucerys in episode 10. We are already in 129 AC and in 130 everyone is dead. At least most of them. After 130 is more about the green counsel vs the black and Aegon II vs Aegon III. So, they are adding lairs as the book is written in 3 bystanders points of view. So Ryan has more freedom when building the characters personality. Since in the book they didn’t describe them very well.
However, this Helaena is way off her book version. She was lovely, close to her mother, and her father. Viserys is found dead after spending time with Helaena and her children telling them stories. She was loved by the people of king’s landing. She was an active dragon Ryder until blood and cheese. She wasn’t obsessed with bugs. Her marriage wasn’t describe as sour like it seems in the book. It was mention she stop sleeping with Aegon after blood and cheese but in the show we see they don’t have the same apartments

I just realised that when jace was dancing with heleana aemond kept staring at her nonstop
was hoping for more interactive scenes between them like maybe helaena was the one or one of tending to aemonds wound or maybe they actually talk to each other and bond over there weird circumstance because we haven't seen them interacted much.

I am not 100% convinced that the non-platonic interpretation is correct. I think they are bonded by being "strange" or "different" and therefore "less than" individuals in a ridiculously competitive and often mean spirited family. He seems very protective of her, and she feels safe with him. I think he realizes that she is very insightful, but also defenseless, and dislikes anyone disrespecting her or taking advantage of her. We'll see though.
I just had another thought, is it possible that in ep 8 he looked more mad to Jace who danced with Heleana than Luce who laughed at him?
It certainly seemed like that was the case honestly.

@@gustavocesar4371 I think the show was playing on the fact that daeron was fostered in Oldtown when he was young. It kind of helps in a story like this where you have a huge cast of characters who are jumping forward through time every episode. Never mind that each of Allicent's kids has been cast twice now, Laenor and Leana got like three different actors apiece... There's already a lot of inconsistency for the viewer to kind of have to deal with, so adding a ton of tertiary characters would be overwhelming to say the least. If daeron has an important part to play, we'll probably see him in season 2.

I think that Aemond and Helaena had always been close as children and became closer as they grew up. When Aegon was betrothed to Helaena, I think Alicent must have caught Aemond and Helaena together and forbid their relationship. I think part of the reason Helaena hates Alicent so much is because Alicent forced her to marry her pig brother instead of the man she loved. I feel as thought Aegon and Helaena may have tried to sleep together, but Helaena became so uncomfortable and upset she stormed out of their rooms. She found Aemond, and together they conceived Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, out of love, not out of duty. Even King Jaehaerys refused to marry his children together if a preexisting bond was not present. He wanted to marry Alyssa to Aemon, because Aemon was Heir but Alysanne told him "Alyssa is for Baleon" so he allowed Alyssa and Baelon to marry. Forced Targaryen sibling marriages never go as planned, and I think that's what the show is hinting at. It was never a point of dispute in the books whether or not Helaena and Aegons children were actually Helaena and Aemonds, but that twist in the show would be fantastic. I personally love Helaena as a character and I think there must have been some threats directed towards Alicent from Aemond if she ever tried to force Helaena to be with Aegon. Aemond loves and cares for Helaena and genuinely dislikes his brother. He always has, but of course when it came time for Aegon to become king, Aemond supported his brother. It's very clear in the coronation scene that Aemond and Helaena are both very uncomfortable and rejecting the entire situation. Helaena even wears blue instead of green, to show her support for Aemond.
he isnt in love with her or even care alot about his family and ironically he only love Alys river ( strong bastard girl ) after he mocked his nephews for years, he will fall in love with bastard girl from house strong.
We don't know what the show runners have decided about Alys Rivers yet ..also I really think this adds more depth to their characters and story rather than him being bloodlust and just in love with a bastard witch although I also love MILFs

@@EmyEgy31 The book doesn't get to much into their relationship as family tho, it's mainly historic facts, but the fact that he could've just killed him or make him dissapear so he can replace him and he didn't, instead he was loyal to him and fought by his side, and when he was in his place as King while Aegon was injured: "Yet Aemond did not assume the style of king, but named himself only Protector of the Realm and Prince Regent." He wouldn't be doing such things if he didn't at least respect them in some way. So I think going with this narrative that he cares for his family in the show is not far from the truth.

I always felt like Aemond and Alys Rivers was a parallel created by George RR Martin with Stannis and Melisandre.
Both Aemond and Stannis are the second sons, with an older brother who is King of Westeros. Both have a very strong sense of duty. (Bo̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶w̶i̶s̶h̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶o̶̶̶ ̶̶̶b̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶̶̶Ki̶̶̶n̶̶̶g̶̶̶).
Alys and Melisandre: both are witches, we don't know their exact age, both are very powerful, both had a relationship with Aemond/Stannis in which they (aemond and stannis) seemed extremely dependent on them and blindly listened to their words. Both brought ruin to Aemond/Stannis. It was Alys who guided Aemond to Gods eye, where he died. And Melisandre and Stannis, well, we saw how it went

@@juliaserento9928 i know, it was bad writing, yes her coming like that was cool, but than she just left like nothing, if they only added some dragon chase at least~ it also doesn't make very much sense because they are dragonriders and bonded to dragons, so their dragons, who are near them, will feel that their riders are in danger and will come to the resque, so she wont be able to just kill them that easily~ at least that's how GRRM is explaining their bond to be, so overall it was stupid

It’s in the book as well. In the end it’s a tv show and we the fandom are just speculating cause we like the characters portrayed.
