This is the perfect City bike, in my opinion. The style is great, and there's a lot of things you notice as it rides by slowly or when you see it parked downtown. The Aprilia 660 would compliment this thing fantastically as a highway bike, where it has cruise control, and a bit more ergonomics dedicated to committed riding. I will say though, this thing is insanely composed, no matter what it does, so i can't imagine cruise control being too important. So many electronic assists that you can literally put your hand on your hip at a full lean and it feels just as stable. it's got fantastic balance. You can ride it as a professional, comfortable, and controlled daily, while still being able to wake up an animal inside that will eat any performance car short of the high end super-cars to low end hyper cars.
I live in the Eryri National Park and picked up the same model last autumn, twenty limits aside I think it’s the perfect machine for these roads, suspension and handling are sublime and I just love the engine despite it being a bit fiddly in town. I’m pretty short and find it way easier to manage than my Tracer, I can flat foot it and the centre of gravity is relatively low, I find it all day comfortable too but probably not on motorways but it’s not meant for them so.. Nice review, also I’m 65 and it’s my first Ducati.

@@Visionary- cost should should not bias your decision....there are lots of questions you must ask of yourself first before the bike....Will the bike be suitable for your needs? Yeah, I think this in addition to the Hypermotard 950SP, and a Honda Grom for the city will round everything out for the road. In northern California, the naked Hyper is not a good ride for long distances at high speed.
Comment taken on board about rear brake. It's not as good as previous bike which was also a Ducati Supersport 950S. I have stripped it and checked movement of pistons and slightly abraded pads and put a little copper grease here and there. It's raining today so not able to check it but will give it a try when I can. Definitely not a bike for Wales!

Nice bike but no good for two up touring. Needed more of a multistrada back end .ie pilion seat and luggage space. Else really just a comfy sports bike. Oh and the old L twin 1200 motor.
@theloftybiker3090 yes I bought a pikes peak 1200 14 new still have it fantastic bike does everything. An it isn't a GS . The weight of some of the adventure bike and larger sports tourers is scary. When you have full luggage and pillion. Shame ducati didn't upgrade ST2 and also triumph on there ST excellent triple. Think that's why so many buy adventure bikes. Did look at kawasaki Hs2 tourer but well heavy. My pikes peak is probably lightest of the adventure bike.

Put a 14teeth front sprocket and the fiddeling in town goes away. Also less vibration through all rpm range so the mirror issue is also solved.
@@mwtraining4310 makes sense, I hardly ever use 6th gear so it is over geared for me anyway.
Not sure why you didn’t rev the bike over 6-7000 rpm? It comes alive after that and the induction noise is fantastic up to redline

I love this bike. Urban mode works well if you are stuck in traffic or in 20mph zones but the bike comes into its own on open roads
