Great ranking. It’s so refreshing to see a ranking that shows love to the original films. Most rankings I’ve seen are basically the new films at the top and the old films at the bottom (with the exception of the original 68 film which tends to be the only older one that gets appreciated.
Fantastic video and loved your reasoning and love for the films. Even if Dawn being only 5th surprised me! 😅 My favourite is definitely Rise too, pretty much for every reason you stated. I think it has so much heart. Conquest too... I have it just below Dawn but go back and forth. Conquest is by far my favourite of the originals, the dialogue especially hits every theme perfectly. Has a haunting realism to it, especially in the famous Caesar speeches like you said. I CANNOT WAIT FOR KINGDOM. Great video mate!
I think part of why my ranking has some bold choices is because I’ve only recently watched all of these films, and I’ve only seen them all once. I wouldn’t be surprised if a rewatch of Dawn raises it in my ranking. I plan to rewatch the new trilogy many times. Kingdom can’t get here fast enough!!!
I felt my body physically cringe when you put Dawn at 5th.... Dawn is my favorite POTA movie (only cuz of Koba, I loved his vengefulness in the movie.) And I'd definitely put it higher on the list... But tbh i can see why you put it at 5th, so no hate
My fave movie of the planet of the apes reboot is also Rise. I adore Dawn and War too and i absolutely love Caesar. Andy Serkis is outstanding as Caesar. my fourth fave is the 1968 version but that will soon be replaced by Kingdom as i love Noa already.
