I'm a Christian and the daughter of a pastor. Just wanted to share something that my parents once shared with me regarding divorce.... Though of course divorce is never the first choice, and a couple should absolutely do everything in their power to fight for their marriage, it is the COUPLE who needs to fight for it. If HE wasn't willing to fight for it, then the 'sin' in question is not yours. It sounds to me like you fought hard for it, and you have really been purposeful and thoughtful in trying to learn from the experience and make sure that any mistakes you may have made in your marriage won't be repeated. So in my opinion, anyone who no longer follows you because of your divorce isn't following the example of a Savior who came to redeem us all, not just the ones who have never made a mistake. Hang in there, M, because I think you're walking through this with grace. 💗

I think it's absolutely disgusting that those people sent you those messages. If you're going to unfollow someone, just do it, just leave. It's seriously vindictive and cruel to send someone a message saying why they're unfollowing you. What do those people expect? They disapprove so you're going to go and dissolve your divorce, and be married to a toxic person? I hope they watch this video or look back at this and be ashamed of themselves. They should ask themselves if God would be proud of them for spreading hatred and judgement in His name. You're better off without those people in your life. You deserve so much kindness and warmth in your life, purely because you put so much kindness into the world.

It’s not Christianity that’s the problem. It’s people who think that just because they identify as Christian that they are perfect. There's no shame in doing what is best for your life. Martyrdom isn't admirable. If there are some who are so judgmental and uncharitable they feel the need to unfollow you, they shouldn't be a loss to you. Stay strong and keep living your best life. ❤
Christian here! Been one my whole life!!! And I work for a missions ministry that has tons of missionaries all over the world! It's not ok to judge someone for their life situation. We didn't know any of the details until Michel shared her divorce story, which actually shows her divorce is not a sin in the eyes of God, since he cheated on her!!!! Michel, I hope you ignore those people! Just the enemy trying to hurt you further. You have been way more kind than I could have ever been if my husband did that to me. He didn't deserve you and more! God has the right man for you and I pray that you will find him in God's timing (no one else's as its really not their business). If you're Christian purposely hurting others, especially those who have done no wrong, you need to ask for forgiveness. You're the one who is sinning. Period.

As a woman who spent almost 30 years in an unhappy marriage let me say this especially to all the young women out there. I am Christian, I fought hard to keep my marriage going despite not feeling fulfilled and I did it partly out of my beliefs and just plain stubbornness. I finally left but not before I had damaged myself financially, emotionally and spiritually and that doesn’t include what my children went through. You did all you could…but it takes two to make a healthy relationship!
This is hard to swallow, even though you didn’t go into detail, I feel like I relate to this comment.
I can relate, it was so unhealthy for me and my children but I was so afraid to leave as I knew I wouldn’t have my families support. Leaving was the best thing I ever did. ❤️

I listened to your divorce story the day it went live and it was something that really stuck with me. It made me sad how much blame you put on yourself. As a former Christian that was raised thinking divorce was a sin, I think this makes people stay in situations that are harmful to themselves instead of living their best lives. I truly believe you did everything you could in that relationship and keeping it going wasn’t the best thing for you mentally, spiritually or physically. I’m so glad to see you thriving and living your best life now. There are so many more experiences in store for you in your next chapter!

From a Christian perspective, I can say that there is no shame in getting a divorce and getting out of an abusive marriage, ESPECIALLY since the spouse cheated. Blessings to you and don't listen to other people's opinions on your life.

Baby girl, the emotional days will come and go for a very long time. We just have to learn how to live with them. It's normal, even years from now, to mourn the loss of the life we thought we were going to have. Just know that you're in a better place. You are allowing yourself to heal. The people that can't follow you anymore, due to "Christianity", in my opinion, need to consider this; did God decide to stop loving you or forgiving you? No. He tells us to show grace and love to everyone. Also...it is NOT your fault. I am SO proud of you for standing up for yourself and getting out of a toxic relationship. @@LStottmann I still mourn the marriage with my children's father, even though we have been divorced for many years. I mourn that they are having to grow up in two different homes. I mourn the fact that I won't have "that" marriage that celebrates a 50-year wedding anniversary. Some days, I will still have tears.
I am remarried to a wonderful man that takes such good care of us. He knows that I love and respect him to the fullest, but he he also understands that part of me was broken by someone else's actions. He understands that, because of that, I can't give him all of me. He knows.

I saw your divorce video and I can totally relate to you. I was in a marriage in which he cheated on me, more than once. I didn’t know until we separated. I never suspected it. I kept quiet about it on my Facebook because of how people judge. But then I watched the series Dirty John on Netflix and realized I had nothing to be ashamed of. I told my story and my Facebook friends were so supportive. I haven’t been able to date yet, 2 1/2 years later because of not knowing I can trust again. You led with love, for yourself, by exiting a relationship that no longer served your higher good. Human beings can enter into moral and spiritual contracts with others, with hope, commitment, and the best intentions. However, we cannot control someone else’s thoughts, feelings, or actions. When situations change, becoming toxic, please allow yourself permission to protect yourself; mind, body, spirit, and soul.

I have been following your story for awhile and it parallels my mother’s relationship- except she stayed married for over 35 years due to fear and stigma. Now she is in her 60s and finally managed to get out and is starting out from scratch after decades of misery. I am SO happy you were able to get out now! You have your whole life ahead of you, the world at your feet, and there are so many men that would cherish you and treat you well! I am so grateful that you are speaking up and sharing your story even though it is not easy; you embody what every true Christian should aspire to! People who stigmatize your divorce or send hateful messages truly do not understand what you have gone through but know that you are helping so many people just by sharing your story ❤️
It took 30 years for my mother to leave my abusive father the damage that it’s done to her own children are only beginning to heal now while we are navigating parenthood ourselves. You gave your unborn children A better chance at happiness by allowing yourself to escape and emotionally and potentially physical abuse. Thank you for sharing

Being Catholic I felt the sting and stigma of divorce. That was 20 years ago. I feel so much better now about it and sought an annulment which helped a lot. Stay true to yourself. You are doing great. It’s sooo hard.

I am a Christian and also a recent divorcée. Watching your video resonated with me so profoundly because I also went through the experience of not following my gut and being afraid to confront him when I heavily suspected he was being unfaithful. My suspicions were true when I finally had the courage to face it head on. At the end of the day, I put it in God’s hands and he directed me to use my faith intelligently. You cannot fight alone in a marriage, and no matter how flawed I was, it was not my fault that he decided to take the actions he took. It took a lot of time and healing to come to that realization, and I am so happy to see you come to that realization too. The God I serve is not one who wants me to stay suffering in order to keep up pretenses and not disappoint other “Christians”. God wants us to live, love and receive the Love He has for us without being mistreated and neglected. You are such an example to me and many others who truly aspire to believe that there is something better in store for us ❤️

I just found your channel this week and have watched a handful of your videos. I adore you and your content! I’m a Christian, as well. I’ve been through divorce and I know how judgmental other “Christians” can be. I am sorry you’ve experienced that. People get wrapped up in don’t do this, don’t do that...so much that they forget what a Christian is all about and that’s showing God’s love. You’re so full of grace and love. And for the record, none of what happened was your fault. God may not love divorce, but He also doesn’t want us staying in miserable, toxic situations. God wants the very best for you; never forget that. I’m sending you love and huge hugs! It does get easier-I promise♥️♥️♥️
