1. How much glue and water?
- About 4 parts of glue and 1 part of water.
2. How long is the string?
- It depends on how big your star is. The sizes of the star that we made are about 6 inches wide. With this size, we start about 2 meters of the string. Add more strings if needed.
3. Can you make the star bigger?
- Absolutely.
4. What if I don't have a corkboard?
- Try using foam board or a corrugated cardboard
5. What kind of string?
- Jute twine, cooking twine, yarn.
6. What glue do you use?
- Any craft glue can be used, like Elmer's glue
7. How long does it take to dry?
- 1 Day. But we put it on top of the air vent, so the drying time is lessened to 30 minutes to one hour.

Thx for the video! Just a quick FYI...,Do all the string work first and then dip it in liquid starch! So much easier, dries stuffer, less messy, and dries clear!

@@EytoZeeCreative My brain is 100% analytical. I think that may be the only trick I know! It’s just SO much easier to wrap everything with dry string, and then either dunk it in liquid starch, or pour the starch over it. It doesn’t ruin any part of the craft- just hardened the string!
Did you try it? It doesn’t really work that well, it’s coated all the way around and seals 🦭 the twine when dipped and squeezed off, you’d miss parts. Ha ha I felt like it’s coating all fibers Re other way.
I have not tried it yet lol

I like this. Simple and you dont have to spend much.
You know those slim "furry" glitter garlands/strings that used often as christmas tree decoration?
I want to try this, but with the
glitter instead of "normal" string..
Will update when I know how it looks.. My guess is, that it will either look good or completely cheap & awful..
I'm really clumsy, and what I dont pull down on the floor myself, some off my cats will.. soo I think a board is the realistic option here, not just some petite coaster 😂

Love these stars! Depending on what materials are used they can be rustic or elegant. I'd really appreciate know the approximate length of each side of the stars. It's hard to tell without some sort of frame of reference (other than your hands, not know how big or petite your hands are).

Quero deixar uma dica , como fiz várias estrelas e de diversos tamanhos ,utilizei isopor como base no lugar da cortiça e no final faltou preguinhos então substitui por palito de dente. Deu super certo .

What about spraying with polyurethane instead of soaking the string in glue?

Loved this. Thank you :-) Its never too late for holiday crafts! I will still make this lol. I have to tell you however, I will definitely make sure I dont take this out in the cold just to be safe. I watch someone else's craft video and had done the string like this around a balloon. I let them sit for 2 days before I popped the balloons. They were nice and sturdy. I hung them outside. When I went out like 6 hours later they were nothing but string dangling. They completely collapsed :-( so instead of remaking those, I will make these and hang them inside :-) then I will tag you the photos.

CAN YOU PLEASE SHOW US/TELL US HOW MANY TIMES YOU WRAPPED THE STRING AROUND YOUR HANDS AT MINUTES, 3:55, just so we know how much to cut? I counted the first time you created the star shape and you used about 1.40 meters or 140cm. Now, if I just knew how many times you wrapped string around the second time, I could pre cut all my strings before hand because I plan on making many of these stars and I want to get them made and dried. Much thanks, love rustic style tree decorations and your star and ball are ‘my cup of tea’ . ☺️☺️☺️
Honestly I didn’t count it. You cant’s start 1 meter and then add more until you are satisfied with the look 😊
