If I was asked to name an actor that is just themselves in every movie, Tom Holland would be my second answer. First is Ryan Reynolds because… well, he’s Ryan freaking Reynolds.
Robots was always a weirdly good movie to me. Like it was certainly a more mature movie and made no sense half the time but I always loved it as a kid.
That wacky nonsense stuff sticks in your head more than movies that focus on songs and animation and making sense *cough cough* frozen 2 (frozen 2 tried so hard that instead of making sense it made no sense at all)
I think you are overreacting.. it wasn't _that_ good. it wasn't bad, but it didn't have a very strong message (in fact it had a kind of stupid one because it assumed that because one side wants to use purely nonviolent fights, the other side will refrain from using deadly force, as we have seen time and time again throughout history that this sort of interaction is not always possible. it gives humans way too much credit. we want what we want and are willing to do whatever it takes to get what we want, no matter how violent. there are people who aren't like that, but assuming everyone is like that is quite honestly naive.) the animation wasn't bad, but it wasn't very unique and a far cry from what I would consider visually stunning. they also did the thing where they hire screen actors for voice acting parts because a lot of people love them, instead of hiring voice actors, which I have grown to resent recently as it takes roles away from people who's talent for voice acting far exceeds some popular screen actors, just because the screen actor is famous (the new Mario movie starring Chris Pratt comes to mind). so good movie? yeah, I guess. greatest movie? only if your pool of movies is a kitty pool and contains "Planes" and "the bee movie".
Rio isn't THAT good. Instead of actually taking some interesting aspects of Brazil and brazilian culture in general, they picked stereotypes. The bird? The Amazon stereotype. EVERYTHING is about this rainforest if you follow this stereotype, when we are MUCH MORE than that. Football is great and Brazil is good in football, but that's not what brazilian culture is all about :/ in fact it is even dangerous for me to go out of my house in days that have football games because I live near a stadium and the crazy football fans are very violent. And carnival... it sucks a lot. Not only it has a lot of violence on it and you have a big chance of having your phone be stolen, but also happens just one week and Brazil ALSO is not only about carnival. Yeah, they forgot about most of the other parts of Brazilian culture and people :'D like Brazil being a multiracial country, we even have a city where people speak more german than portuguese.
Tom Holland is like a younger Tom Cruise. Even in movies where they're the same age he's still younger. Don't ask how. He just is younger than everyone the same age as him. He simply plays himself and that's all.
Cool fun fact: Even though Spies in Disguise was their last full length movie, Blue Sky Studios still has one unreleased project coming soon - Scrat tales, a collection of animated shorts revolving around Scrat! Unlike Ice Age 6(we don’t talk about that), this one was actually being worked on by Blue Sky at the time of shutdown and continued production with the same team. Even if it doesn’t turn out great, this series will be our official last chance to say goodbye to an amazing piece of history(and scrat!). Excited to watch it in April, we’ll see how it goes!
spies in desguise was so good, it’s underrated in my opinion, i watched it on the big screen when it first came out. the movie made me laugh so hard, the jokes were on point and the story was really good in my opinion. i still rewatch it on disney+ when i get the time.
Ice age was such a big part of my childhood, it's sad to see the studio go. Still glad I never watched the first ice age movie that child looks haunted
if this makes your day even worse, im sorry, but rio 3 has already been confirmed to come out but blue skies wasn't gonna make it this time like the new ice age.
I loved Blue Sky- Rio is one of my favorite movies of all time (half bc it was one of my favorites as a child, but still). I’ll never forgive Disney for buying it just to have the Ice Age franchise. A lot of Blue Sky’s employees probably got fired too, which is even sadder to me.
When I was a child, a friend of my older brother broke into our car and took our DVDs. The only DVD left in the console was rio 2. I swear I could read the entire rio 2 script just off of memory now.
Fun fact: Spies in disguise was inspired by a TH-cam animated short called “Pigeon Impossible”. You even see it mentioned in the opening/ending credits. I found this really cool as in grade 7 we actually studied the pigeon impossible short during our film unit in English. I suggest checking out the short if you haven’t already! :)
Robots with Robin Williams... Rio with the best songs like omg- the first one was and still is my favorite... Ice age was good lol- and Spys in disguise was Super funny Surprisingly. Lol.
They were working on a movie adaptation of one of my favorite books, when it got bought by Disney. Sad to see it'll almost definitely never get finished. It was almost done too.
yes it is very sad to see blue sky studios go but there is one thing I was hoping for and that was another ice age movie but sadly all good things must come to an end goodbye blue sky Studios we will miss you ❤😢
We need a go fund me to bring back blue sky studio's!!!! It was my childhood, its going to be my childrens childhood, its going to be the childhood of every child that belongs to my blood line! I want them back to KEEP ON MAKING AMAZING MOVIES!!!

They ended on such a positive note with movies. They gave us classics that everyone loves rewatching and the Tom Holland Multiverse
Rio is a classic for sure. Dont forget Ice Age

Wautvwhy did they stop making movies again

I didn’t even have the spy movie either, I thought it was a pretty average movie and some of the jokes were funny.

Samuel L Jackson too even when animated haha
