Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Yamamoto not only stood there to take a hit from Chojiro's bankai just to experience one final connection with his former lieutenant, but also to demonstrate to his foe just how unworthy he was to yield Chojiro's bankai?
As a side note, Kubo confirmed that Sasakibe stabbing Yhwach through the back 1,000 years ago was the deciding factor in his defeat against Yamamoto. So that's why Sasakibe was killed so early in the story, as a form of petty revenge from Yhwach. Yhwach held a mean grudge, and if he hadn't died there, then I would guess that the Lloyd brother Yamamoto was fighting would have been slain sooner with the help of Sasakibe. It would have been cool to see them working as a team, and dying together against Yhwach and Haschwalth.
Yhwach and Haschwalth have some problems when working in tandem. Haschwalth is a beast compared to normal captains and pre-true Zangetsu Ichigo, but he's complete fodder against Yamamoto unless Yhwach happens to be asleep at the time. While Yhwach sleeps, he and Haschwalth switch power sets. They switch back when he wakes. Odds are he wouldn't last long if that bankai were in any capacity directed at him. Sasakibe on the other hand wouldn't last long in the presence of Zankai no Tachi *at all*. Royd Lloyd and Haschwalth were quite a bit stronger than Sasakibe, and both of them made it very clear they were just barely able to survive even being in that bankai's general vicinity. As an aside, another thing Kubo confirmed was that Yamamoto did not need bankai to defeat Royd Lloyd. He used it out of a mixture of rage and sheer arrogance, and the fight only lasted as long as it did because he wanted "Yhwach" to suffer greatly before his end came. He added that Yamamoto's bankai had grown so ridiculously powerful the old man had to dedicate a portion of his reiatsu to shielding himself from the rest of his reiatsu, which means it consumed an asinine amount of stamina in addition to its obvious environmental consequences. Kubo also mentioned that Yamamoto could have defeated Yhwach then and there if he had been in better shape. Being down an arm because he was too proud to get it restored was bad enough, but wasting all that energy on bankai when he didn't even need it to win the fight really sealed the deal. It was exhaustion that ultimately allowed his bankai to be stolen., after all. The old man's arrogance and blind rage lead him to the grave. Yhwach without The Almighty against a two-armed, not tired Yamamoto apparently would've gone much better for the shinigami.

If Yamamoto and Sasikibe were constantly improving, Aizen wouldve never of been a thing. Yet they died on their comfort, but at least they enjoyed the fruits of victory for 1000 years.
??? Aizen was so scared of Yamamoto he had to use the Hogyoku to create a mod arrancar whose sole purpose was to seal away his flames.
Aizen happily took on Urahara, Isshin, Yoroichi, all the captains of the soul society there and all the vizoreds - at the same time- at their full strength because they were nothing to him.
but he had to use his magic wish ball to create a counter to the Head Captain because if he squared up against him 1 on 1 he'd end up in ashes like The Overkill here.
@IcyBlaze616 that's yamamotos fault for not strategizing. War is won through cunning and guile.
@IcyBlaze616 didn't the sasikibe stab ywach in the back? A win is a win regardless of how it's carried out.
God savessssssssssssssseses
So badass when he flew off burning in anger,it's like a missile flew off leaving a trail of fire and smoke But I'm so disappointed how Yhwach killed him so quickly
