    Very helpful, Mary Rose, especially the tip on taking a picture of the pattern witth my tablet to enlarge areas. I'm working on Teresa Wentzler's Peacock Tapestry, and the pattern is hand drawn, and some symbols are hidden under backstitch lines. This tip will help! Thank you so much!

    Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing all your hints and tips :) Been looking forward to this video so much. I have several kits and for whatever reason, I'm absolutely fine with the things I kit up, but pre assembled kits give me anxiety! Lol Of course I have had a couple of kits that were either missing floss, or other materials, or the charts were horrid on the eyes. In all fairness, though, they weren't Dimensions kits, but you understand, I am sure, lol

    • @stitchblisscorner
      @stitchblisscorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🦋 I do understand about kit anxiety. I got an Anchor one that had quite a few threads missing and it certainly takes the wind out of your sails when you have bought a kit precisely so that you don’t have to actually put one together! That particular kit is languishing at the moment as I will have to match up some of the missing threads. I did think about returning it, but it is fairly easy to replace the colours, so I didn’t bother. I wish you Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹

    I hated dimension kits but started one again using your tips and enjoying stitching it. I don’t make working copies as I don’t have a copy printer and the closest one is 20 miles away. I mark off as I stitch losing some backstitch lines. Thank you Harlequin for the photo suggestion. It helped tremendously

      🦋 Hi Barbara! I suggest that you give the gridding a try on a small design first, to decide what type of gridding suits you best and then you can tackle any bigger one that appeals to you. I have every confidence in your stitching abilities! Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹

    • @stitchblisscorner
      @stitchblisscorner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🦋 Hi Robin, I wish you all the very best with your quest. I’m sure you’ll do fine. Dimensions can be a challenge, but keep in mind that YOU are the master of the piece, not the chart. If you want to tweak a few bits here and there - like using less threads than they suggest for example, the choice is yours. I cannot remember if I mentioned this on the video, but if you do need to use multiple threads and that is what you want to do, a bigger needle is really handy to pull through ~ a lot easier. Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹

    Mary I forgot to ask you what type of thread do you grind with. Thanks

    • @stitchblisscorner
      @stitchblisscorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      🦋 Hi Barbara ~ I grid with 2 pastel colour cottons, such as light blue and light purple and I alternate those colours on the grids. One row blue, one row purple. There is a nylony thread called Sulky that is designed especially for gridding and is very easy to pull out when you have finished your stitching. I did get some and tried it, but it tends to wrap round itself a bit when placing the grids, a bit like stitching with a finer form of fishing line, so I went back to my cotton. Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹

    • @barbarabell6527

      🦋 Hi Barbara, and Thankyou for joining me. I would suggest that you try some gridding on a small design, either with thread or a gridding pen just to get the feel of it and then just see how you go. It really is a game changer! Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹
