For the one jelly and josh failed, I was thinking if you could find a way to break the ice and melt it then you could use frost walker boots to turn the water to ice, break with silk touch pica and then you can repeat until you have enough ice blocks to go up. IDK honestly but that was my first thought when I heard the materials:D
for 3 u need to collect all of the items then jump boost arrow ur self then u can jump 2 blocks high so u go and place on the 2nd block high right under u and reapet that and jump out

I figured out #3. I noticed that when Jelly placed the ice block on the side of the cube where the lava was, the ice looked like it would start to melt. If he had left that ice block there, in that state, and then broken it, the ice would have created flowing water, and the rest is history. I would love to see if I'm right with this, so if anyone else has any input I would love to hear it!
Well, He could do another way by putting the ice on top then pick the coal from the furnace, then make a torch. Put the ice on the most top part of the cube and then put the torch below! It Will starts to melt
I’m number three you use the stick and Coal to make a torch you put the ice up at the top and put the torch beside the ice so the ice flows down all the way to the bottom so you can go up there and get out of it you hit yourself with the jump boost and then you can jump out

How would they get multiple ice blocks
You can’t melt packed ice or blue ice into water I don’t think only actual ice will melt into water
