The reviews on this saw are full of people complaining that they couldn't get the blade bolt loose and stripped the allen socket. I bet the righty loosey got them. These reviews were why I came here before I got too deep into the blade change. I didn't want to ruin anything or strip out the bolt. Thanks!
I take it back. It's the phillips head screw that was so damn tight I stripped mine. Why do they torque it down so tight in manufacture. I drilled it out. Didn't damage the threads on the hole. Time to find a replacement screw. Buyer beware of this issue. Again, look at the Lowes site. The comments are full of these complaints.
@@joeuncoolio The actual blade bolt is some kind of softer metal, so after 5-6 blade changes it starts striping the Allen hole out. Guys that use the saw rarely wouldn't even have an issue, because they never change the blade. I'm using a brass Allen wrench, it seems to be softer then the bolt metal so it will strip the wrench before the Allen socket.
Hey bud just wanted to let you know thank you for your video very straightforward and easy to understand the other videos made this entirely too complicated Yours by far was the best one simple straightforward easy to understand thank you my friend
i looked at 4 of these videos to find one that had enough light on the blade area or someone that did NOT have his hand or fist covering the screws .this was prefect nice job.im hoping that my 12 inch will blade change the same way as this thanks again nice job.
Thanks so much sir for putting this vid together. You've just pioneered blade change vid for this particular miter saw model on TH-cam. I appreciate the detailed vids you post about the tools you have. More power to your channel and God Bless!
Great video man. I'm a new fan of Kobalt after picking up a 1/4" drive impact and getting a circular saw. I was able to finish my own work bench in my shop. At the time I only had one battery to swap back and forth and it lasted all day.
👍 Your videos are great. Kobalt needs to get some more tools in your hands. Like the 24v router. Maybe that $199 40v lawn mower. Anyway i found your channel when you 1st reviewed this 24v miter saw. And i came right here today when i needed to see a blade change. Thanks SO much. ♿Lisa🔨
Thank you so much. I have a few tools that I've picked up that I will be reviewing soon. I do them as I can since I am not sponsored and everything is purchased with my own cash. But I totally agree Kobalt should hit me up LOL Thanks for Watching and glad I could help.
I had the same problem. Oil it. Take some good channel lock pliers and use that to turn the bolt clockwise. The Allen key hole stripped on mine the first day I got it.
Hey brother I've been on the fence about getting this saw. I keep finding reviews of either it doesn't cut square because the blade can't achieve a perfect 90 from the fence and others have said thier blade fastening bolt was stuck and also that thier Allen key that came with it is a loose fit what do you think?

I still Love this saw and have had zero of those issues. I just used it the other day and it still surprises me. I have no complaints.
