I like his approach to materials that can always be refinished or replaced. That's definitely something a restorer would desire. He knows what parts and materials are best for longevity and builds for that. I also think people misunderstand the pricing of these very small independents. There's no economy of scale, they have to do everything themselves and at the same time run an entire brand, design, service, advertising and the parts and tools and more. Its expensive.
Very much on point comment. So many expenses that people dont really think about. Many hours spent developing a new movement and fine tuning everything. Making a living doing all this stuff alone is quite the feat. He is the real deal. Total transparency.

Get both! I dont think Rune can compete with Omegas brand, WR, precision etc. Not for everybody. This is for those who want something super rare and get a personal relation with the actual watchmaker who made the watch. Much more like an art piece?
Stunning pieces, but man would i love to one day find a brand that's either not way over my budget or a brand that's quite unknown but is about to explode
Truly awesome! Thank you for sharing! The amazing craftsfolk you share here on your channel have really inspired me and my work I’ve been designing on the side!
That was pretty amazing to see this episode. The local inspiration based ideas leeds more uniqe timepieces than following/remaking blindely the swiss wtachmaking heritage. This purist danish design brings some new flavour to watchmaking and it is so interesting.
I really want to encourage new watchmakers making things but in all honest this isn't it. The longevity part is a good idea but in my opinion isn't executed well if at all. The cleanliness is not there, the screws are damaged and the dial(s) of the Jens Olsen inspired watch are not well done either. I want this to be constructive criticism, as I do not mean to discourage. But turning a blind eye and a pat on the back will only slow down Rune's carrier if not ruin it. There is a reason why Philippe Dufour and George Daniels are and were difficult to satisfy individuals. Once again please take this as constructive criticism.
Although I must say that the Bridges are very well finished. The frosting is very nice and the anglage is also very good. Its so good that im speculating that it wasnt finished by him.
Oh, this is an actual prototype for testing how the watch runs and for testing the rocking bar setting system. It has been assembled multiple times. No finishing yet on many parts. The dials here are just test dials. The quality of these is subpar and will be discarded. The final dials will be polished and much better. He will make metal dials himself as well. The finish will be like Thomas Prescher. Very good.
@@flimz5199 No worries! Very constructive inputs! I dont think he mentions the test dials though. I will come clean and say I am somewhat biased since I have ordered one of his pieces. Good spotting the nicely finished bridges. This bridge finish one this is done by Manufacture SA (Philippe Narbel) as they will also do the hand engraving. Rune will do the finish himself on the final pieces, except for the hand engraving of course. Hopefully to a similar level. That is the goal at least. It is not the goal to make ultra wide anglage etc. but a bit more subtle, functional finish. All steel parts will be black polished. He makes the baseplate, bridges himself in his workshop from raw blanks of german silver. He also make the big wheel, hands , case, crown and all the parts for the winding setting system. Just the geartrain, ceramic dials, jewels, gaskets etc are sourced. He is totally transparent about everything. Cheers and merry Christmas!
Go check out Rune on Instagram and his website! Also let me know who should I have on the channel in 2024?

Like his vision and his inclination towards heritage and discovering and re-imagining the old crafts with his own twist.
Amazing piece, love it 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I noticed that your videos are amazing SWG.
I need to find $30,000 for that final watch.
Tôi có thể ngắm những chiếc đồng đồ đến từ các thương hiệu độc lập hằng ngày mà không biết chán ,chỉ có điêù tôi quá nghèo mà có thể sở hữu chúng😢
Is it hard to source parts on a watch from the 1600s?
Love the design -- but alas I will never be able to afford spending that kind of money.
❤️
Nice
for this amount of money I would rather buy some Omega watch

All respect to people who does such noble work and craftmanship. Wish you all success.
Very nice watches. Love the design 😊👍🇩🇰
Unusual, raw, interesting to see a watch with future restoration in mind.
I’d like to see a tapered strap on this.
Nice 👍

Great guy! Very beautiful and interesting watches!!
Very nice work, good luck!!
disrupting the swiss watch industry… a brand no one has ever heard of 😂 yeah right 😂
I think that is just lingo for getting more views. Dont take it too seriously. I know Rune, he has no goal of disrupting the swiss, ha ha.
