      Actually 2nd light is coming from M2 after reflection and can have different path lengths depending on ots orientation also. It is similar to the thin film which we calculate in the derivation of interference due to thin film and also wedge shaped film. So hr no need to derive the path difference ..

      @@patladada2408 if extended source is used then light rays from reflected from different parts of the film enters the eye for its fixed position so we can see interference fringes over a large area of film. This is not so in case of point source (only we can see a small portion)...

    Sir, I am not able to visualise what actually does the fringes of equal inclination mean... Is this inclination the angle of refraction that we studied in basics of interference or is it some sort of angle of inclination between the fringe patterns? Can you please post a short video on the same so that it is easy to remember visually. 🙏
