I’m a Filipino and I don’t buy second hand phones in Philippine market. Because you don’t know the story of that phone many students,employees being killed by thieves just to get their phones, wallets and jewelry and thieves are selling that phones to sellers like them. So better buy fake clothes and shoes or fake phones brand new rather than buying legit second hand phones. But it’s better to buy in respected malls in the Philippines because the price are slight difference when it comes to tshirts and pants maybe 20$ you can have branded pants and shirts.

I am mixed with Filipino, Pacific Islander, Thai and white. The first price that would be given to me was up to 3x higher than what would be given to my mother in law (yes. We shopped separately for this reason) . she could bargain anything down to nearly nothing. I would use her exact tactics but the lowest I could bargain down to was still larger than the first price offered to her. I had to take pictures of items i wanted and sent them to her. I would just pay her back when we got home. I bargained in South Korea and in Thailand. But the Manila, Philippines was the only place where the "you are american so I assume you are rich - tax" was thrown at me. It is not a discount if my Filipina (born and raised in the Philippines) in law can get a discount that makes an item starting out at $10 down to $2 but for me that same item is marked up to $20 and "discounted" to $12. She had more pocket money than i did to begin with because I paid for housing and the airline tickets.
I was told "looking rich" was part of it. I was told not to wear any distinguishable brand named items to the market or while out and about (to not become a target of robbery)

I was not unknowingly ripped off in Thailand because I was with my grandmother (born and raised in Thailand) and one of her sister's family. Thai markets didn't try to overcharge me even though i shopped separately, believing they would overcharge for me and anyone with me. Same in South Korea. I also have a Mexican friend who lived in China for 2 months. She learned to bargain like the locals there, too. You could see it on this channel. He goes to many countries and the way he bargains is astounding. But in this video and the one in Green Hills?? He couldnt do what he could do elsewhere.

Those vendors outside the malls are only commission basis. Sometimes they work hard for the whole day and very tired they came home with only 50 pesos on their hands or $1 for the whole day work. I’m so sad for them to know that 😢. That’s why when i visit Philippines sometimes I don’t do bargain. I gave them the extra change. They are so kind even they are poor 😢😭😭😭. Sometimes they can give there own food for free even they are starving 😢. God bless the philippines with such a wonderful people

@@celinechewables disagree. I am only part Filipina but born and raised in the U.S.. I understand bisaya (my grandfather's lineage) and am learning tagalog. I am mixed with Filipino, Pacific Islander, Thai and white. The first price that would be given to me was up to 3x higher than what would be given to my mother in law (yes. We shopped separately for this reason) . she could bargain anything down to nearly nothing. I would use her exact tactics but the lowest I could bargain down to was still larger than the first price offered to her. I had to take pictures of items i wanted and sent them to her. I would just pay her back when we got home.
I bargained in South Korea and in Thailand. But the Manila, Philippines was the only place where the "you are american so I assume you are rich - tax" was thrown at me. It is not a discount if my Filipina (born and raised in the Philippines) in law can get a discount that makes an item starting out at $10 down to $2 but for me that same item is marked up to $20 and "discounted" to $12.
She had more pocket money than i did to begin with because I paid for housing and the airline tickets.
I was told "looking rich" was part of it. I was told not to wear any distinguishable brand named items to the market or while out and about (to not become a target of robbery)

Same in South Korea. I also have a Mexican friend who lived in China for 2 months. She learned to bargain like the locals there, too. You could see it on this channel. He goes to many countries and the way he bargains is astounding. But in this video and the one in Green Hills?? He couldnt do what he could do elsewhere.

My best friends wife is Filipino. She is the most amazing women I have ever me. The lengths which she will go to for him and her family is incredible. Completely selfless putting the families need above her own. For the first 5 years of their they lived in a small basement suite now they have their own 2 story home and baby girl 7 months old. I have a lot of respect for her and the sacrifices she made. I have never seen so happy in the 15 years I have known him.

My grandma is from the Philippines and she visited me in Hawaii before. When I accompanied her to the market she would always try and bargain the price down and I’d get so embarrassed when she does that because we don’t really do that in America. But now I see why she does it 😅
Those vendors outside the malls are only commission basis. Sometimes they work hard for the whole day and very tired they came home with only 50 pesos on their hands or $1 for the whole day work. I’m so sad for them to know that 😢. That’s why when i visit Philippines sometimes I don’t do bargain. I gave them the extra change. They are so kind even they are poor 😢😭😭😭. Sometimes they can give there own food for free even they are starving 😢. God bless the philippines with such a wonderful people
