Good morning to all. Remember to subscribe, like, comment and share. Will soon be uploading the 4 Stooges shorts that are currently on this channel in full screen high quality HD and deleting the current ones. Cheers from William:)
The Emmys were created in 1949, 2 years after this short was made. Shemp truly should have won an that award for this performance. Hands down my favorite Stooge short of all time.
God bless you knuckleheads the Howard's and fine family would be proud and laughing no one close to the 3 stooges your legacy of laughter and slapstick and dancing still continues on you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong way to go appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go ❤😂😂😅 !! Joe
I’ve noticed ever since I was a kid that Moe says “get the f$&k off of me here” at 5:14 😂. Was always a little surprised that that got left in. Love this episode!
As a little kid I used to like Curly most, then Moe as I got older, then started picking up on Larry's brilliant quirks as my favorite, but now that I'm much older, I truly think Shemp may have been the greatest Stooge.
I do see where you're coming from, but I can't pick a favorite Stooge; all of them, at some point or another, have scenes they own and wonderful lines to quote :)
Probably the most famous Shemp episode & it's very easy to understand why. Hilarious farce from beginning to end, hard to single out a favorite scene--I'll just say "Cousin Basil" and Shemp as the music instructor in the opening.... 😂
The howards and fine family would be proud and laughing no one close to the 3 stooges your legacy of laughter and slapstick still continues on you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong way to god bless you knuckleheads keep the laughs love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go !!❤❤😂😅 Joe
I can't choose a favorite stooge. I didn't really care for the later two who replaced shemp but if I absolutely had to choose one favorite it would be shemp but even after all these years they are just as funny as ever. This episode has to be my favorite.
Even though Columbia started re-using footage by this point, I prefer the Shemp era, mostly because of the greater focus on physical gags and props. Feels a lot like live-action Tom and Jerry
14:55 Just so happened to have a press and bear trap in the living room. 😂🤦🏻 These guys were amazing. People are looking at me at a buffet while I laugh. 😂😂🤣😆
And a gun collection, a birdcage and a piyannah...the writers would give them occupations like, plumbers, tailors, auto mechanics so they'd have tools handy to beat the hell out of each other
My two favorite moments: Shemp saying "Moe, where's your hat?" as well as Larry: "Oh, it's not me, it's him!" followed by Shemp's face smashed against the glass.
I read somewhere that the woman playing Miss Hopkins wasnt being convincing enough with her punch to Shemps face and he told to REALLY let him have it....and she actually driiled him with that punch that knocked him thru the door
Amazing how Larry mastered the Violin. But he also learned to play the piano to learn the chords! Larry was the only musically inclined from all the stooges!
Shemp: Oh I cut off my head! I cut off my head! Moe, my head is off! Moe, my head is off! (Moe turns mirror around) Oh there I am. And as pretty as a picture. Moe: Yeah. To me. (Slaps Shemp)
The best part is when Christine Mcintyre beat the Hell out of Shemp. Fun act: Those were slaps and a punch. Story goes Christine didn't want to really hit Shemp as they were good friends in real life. After numerous takes, Shemp had to convince to really let him have it and she did. Boy did she let him have it!
Lotsa violent dames in this one! The best being the gorgeous Christine McIntyre viciously beating up Shemp. She could play heroines equally as well as villainesses with the Stooges.
The best parts.. Hello? Is this Entern Grey... Will u marry me?? She hangs up so hard it hurts his ear!!! Lol! ..... Moe pulling Shemps hair to phone booth!! Lol Shemp looking thru phone booth scares lady she slaps Larry! Lol! " Can i help im not cousin Bazal!!! CLASSICS FOREVER!
Some trivia about this episode. Christine McIntyre (Miss Hopkins) was having a hard time with the physical scene with Shemp. She was just too nice a person. After many takes, Shemp finally told her that they will never get done if she didn't pick it up. He told her to let him have it and she did on the next take. She really slapped him and her punch connected to Shemp's jaw and knocked him backwards. Shemp said (from the floor) you got it kid, you finally got it right. Doris Houck (who put Shemp in the press) was a contract player at Columbia, a prolific songwriter and also a nightclub singer. She was married to Fred Otash, (twice) a famous celebrity detective who outed many Hollywood scandals. Her daughter Colleen Otash still lives in the LA area. The girlfriend who pushed Moe into the animal trap was Virginia Hunter, a contract actress who started at RKO and ended up making some Columbia B-reels before moving into retail and becoming a regional executive for the I. Magnin chain. The ex-girlfriend who pulled out Shemp's hair was Alyn Lockwood. Another contract actress at Columbia. She starred in B-reel westerns and starred in episodic television until her retirement in 1959. Unfortunately the rumor on this episode was that Shemp's ex-girlfriends were all actresses that were "Harry Cohn girls" because he always would put them in B-Reels or in The Three Stooges in return for casting couch activities.

The Emmys were created in 1949, 2 years after this short was made. Shemp truly should have won an that award for this performance. Hands down my favorite Stooge short of all time.
"Can I help it if I ain't Cousin Basil?" 😉
Shemp really showed his acting chops in this one. He made every scene funnier.
Agreed!
Man, the writing of this episode was killer, and The Three really sold it.
One of the best for sure.
"Gargle with old razor blades"
Shemp is savage.
yah ,he shaving hair like skinning a carrot clean
"...but you are kinda cute!" Larry, "Oh it's not me, it's him!" Ahhhhh! Slap! Too Funny.
One of my all-time favorites. Probably Shemp's best short.
When Miss Dinklemeyer hits that horrific flat note, I fall apart every time!😂
Shemp was so funny.
3 stooges are classic comedy.
Moe: pushes shemps face into piano strings.
Shemp: you wanna spoil my looks?
Moe: impossible😆😆😂😂
This piano is out of tune!
..lol shemp gets wrapped up in piano wires.
Why you !!!
The scene in the phone booth is priceless!!!
The phone booth scene is the BEST!!! LMAO!!!
moe says the f word 5:14
God bless you knuckleheads the Howard's and fine family would be proud and laughing no one close to the 3 stooges your legacy of laughter and slapstick and dancing still continues on you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong way to go appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go ❤😂😂😅 !! "Hold hands, you love birds" is one of my (many) fave lines to quote from the Stooges :)
These guys made Comedy history. Love those guys.
Timeless comedy, god bless you guys !
I like when Larry got tough. The guy (Sitka) is worried about his piano. Larry pushes him out of the way with a big "Shut Up!" Funny
Totally underrated- Larry was hilarious
It's a pecking order! Moe hits Larry and Shemp, Shemp hits Larry, and everybody else is fair game to all three! 😅😂
This sketch is on my top 10.
Better than the one Larry cooking a cat and a dog?
malice in the palace.
Travoltas drug dealer was watching this episode when he stopped by..
"your my little dreamboat" "your dreamboat just sailed, wooohh.... woooohhh!"
lmfao!
"Don't you dare strike me ". Funniest line
the telephone booth scene is priceless....
Shemp: "All right, you asked for it!" *bites his own hand* LOL
¨Can I Help It If I Ain´t Cousin Basil?¨ Legends, the FOUR of them.
I’ve noticed ever since I was a kid that Moe says “get the f$&k off of me here” at 5:14 😂. Was always a little surprised that that got left in. Love this episode!
Probably just because it was too subtle to notice with all the commotion going on. I never noticed it until you pointed it out
As a little kid I used to like Curly most, then Moe as I got older, then started picking up on Larry's brilliant quirks as my favorite, but now that I'm much older, I truly think Shemp may have been the greatest Stooge.

3:09 "I oughta....!
"You oughta what?"
"I oughta be a little more careful!"😄
“ Shut up and listen, do you remember your Uncle Caleb?”
Love the Stooges! Some of the all-time greats!
Always wanted to see the outtakes 😂
Moe to Shemp : I said hold still! Moe gets Shemp with needle! Funny episode!!
There isn't one scene that isn't loaded with hysterics. I've been watching this for a good 65 years, and I still crack up.
Probably the most famous Shemp episode & it's very easy to understand why. Hilarious farce from beginning to end, hard to single out a favorite scene--I'll just say "Cousin Basil" and Shemp as the music instructor in the opening.... 😂
Cat fight over Shemp! 😅😅😅
Kristine MacIntyre was a master comedienne 😂
Yes she was! And extremely pretty as well!
13:15
“My poor piano”
“Shut up!”
Hold hands you lovebirds!
Larry: "Boy, his kisses are getting louder."
🤣
Meanwhile Shemp gets the snot beaten out of him 🤕 and socked 🤜🏼 through the door 🚪
I lost it @ 4:09 when his
hair got pulled. “Well

6:29 Larry Say "How you Doing?" Shemp and Moe Slap Face to Larry Is Funny XD
The howards and fine family would be proud and laughing no one close to the 3 stooges your legacy of laughter and slapstick still continues on you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong way to god bless you knuckleheads keep the laughs love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go !!❤❤😂😅 Joe
A true classic! Emil Sitka is at his best, also.
"Can I help it if I ain't Cousin Basil?" One of my favorite lines.
Talk about girl power! She slaps Shemp up and down, 'how dare you take advantage of a poor defenseless woman' - and finally a punch.
I can't choose a favorite stooge. I didn't really care for the later two who replaced shemp but if I absolutely had to choose one favorite it would be shemp but even after all these years they are just as funny as ever. This episode has to be my favorite.
Shemp is the best stooge, no question.
Even though Columbia started re-using footage by this point, I prefer the Shemp era, mostly because of the greater focus on physical gags and props. Feels a lot like live-action Tom and Jerry
My piano!...Larry: Shut up.
Larry: How ya doing?
Moe and Shemp: 👊
Larry: 😵
Me: 😂
😂😂😂😂
14:55 Just so happened to have a press and bear trap in the living room. 😂🤦🏻 These guys were amazing. People are looking at me at a buffet while I laugh. 😂😂🤣😆

Lmfao "You're supposed to be singing about the voices of spring, not the eruption of a volcano." Lmfao
One of Shemp's best mad greater by the lovely Christine McIntyre
More and more and more and more three stooges with Curly Shemp Larry Moe
This short is hilarious as hell. LMAO...so funny I cried laughing. 🤣
You can't hit a woman with that! Use this, it's bigger!! LMAO
My two favorite moments: Shemp saying "Moe, where's your hat?" as well as Larry: "Oh, it's not me, it's him!" followed by Shemp's face smashed against the glass.
What happened?
You’re married kid, say something!
HELP! HELP!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Shemp:You might hurt your voice. You know, bend it, crack it, break it a little😅🤣😂
Shemp is the most underrated Stooge. He's funny AF
Of course there just happens to be a giant vice and a bear trap in the office of the justice of the peace 😂
"I think the piano is out of tune" 😅 Hahahaha
I read somewhere that the woman playing Miss Hopkins wasnt being convincing enough with her punch to Shemps face and he told to REALLY let him have it....and she actually driiled him with that punch that knocked him thru the door
Makes perfect sense
And she broke his nose. Shemp consoled her by telling her that he told her to cut loose, and that, she did.
Still great after all these years 👍🏼
The best, and funniest part is with the poor, defenseless Miss Hopkins.
Those kisses Miss Hopkins gave to Basil, seemed very passionate for just being cousins.
My head is off! Moe, I cut off my head! LMFAO love this so much❤
Shemp is at the top of his game in this classic
Dee Green was great as a tone-deaf student.
*grabs pistol*
Wait a minute you wouldn’t hit a lady with that. *grabs rifle* Use this it’s bigger.
At 14:50, that lady applied the most perfect headlock I've seen.
Amazing how Larry mastered the Violin. But he also learned to play the piano to learn the chords! Larry was the only musically inclined from all the stooges!
"I said stand still!" Sticks him 😆
"Hey I cut off my head! I cut off my head! Moe, my head is off! My head is off!" 🤣
This was my introduction to Shemp Howard.
watching these 3 knuckleheads since 1955..have entire dvd series...
At 5:18 Moe drops an F bomb.I let his son Paul know it at a 3 Stooges festival in Philadelphia
Put on more three stooges
15:35 Moe tries to entice a woman to sit on a bear trap.
Amazing A/m Lofing !!!!!!🥵🥵🤣😂🤩
loafing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤣😂🥵😭
Shemp: Oh I cut off my head! I cut off my head! Moe, my head is off! Moe, my head is off!
(Moe turns mirror around) Oh there I am. And as pretty as a picture.
Moe: Yeah. To me. (Slaps Shemp)
Moe actually responds with “yeah, of an ape” 😂
😮 she could really hit that high note
"Okay pardner, we're ready for the kickoff!"
Your little dreamboat is sailing☺️
"You're married, kid! Say something!"
Shemp:(Looks at who he married) HELP! HELP!
Holy crap, could the lovely Christine McIntryre throw a right!!??????!!!!
"You are married, now say something"
Help! Help! 😂😂😭
Starting at 5:55 there's a funny scene (in the telephone booth) with Moe and Shemp, who are tangled up together. Moe expresses some frustration.
Then they punch Larry out.
Too bad there are no more telephone booths. I'd love to put on a skit making like Moe and Shemp did.
Good classic comedy 🤣! They are still hilarious today!
Hold hands you lovebirds lol..love it
“I’m telling you to hold still now, I’m warning you” lololol 😂
The best part is when Christine Mcintyre beat the Hell out of Shemp. Fun act: Those were slaps and a punch. Is she the person who thought Shemp was her cousin? Sorry, it’s just I get there’s so many girls in this episode beating them up
Yep. Supposedly he told her to not hold back when they filmed this scene, and to hit him for real. For me, that makes it hilariously more funny.
@@hebneh Oh wow! That's an interesting fact I didn't know about! I kinda feel sorry for her 😅
How Shemp didn’t die or go to the hospital in this one is BEYOND me
Fr 😂😂😂
I said stand still!!!!!! How can u when a needle sticks you in your leg!!! Classic!!
You’re supposed to be singing of the breaking of spring ……not the eruption of a volcano !
Funniest Shemp line ever .
Judge Benton: " MY PIANO !"
Larry: "SHUT UP !"
Istg this episode always makes me bust a gut, a lung omg 🤣
Put on more the three stooges
Your little dreamboat has sailed hooo hooo 😂
