Delta flight 2514 was a routine flight from Southcoast to big rock international. On its first landing attempt, the DC-10 had to go around because an Antonov AN-124 was on the runway. On its second landing attempt, the pilot made an error and slammed the DC-10 down on the runway too hard. This caused the right main landing gear to collapse, and the wing scraped the ground. The plane, still flying went into the trees next to the runway. Of the 167 people on board only 43 survived the crash.
