Not criticizing the process at all, but as I was taught, the deburring of the case mouth should be a single pass. Just knock off the edge. It doesn't need to be a knife edge. (Edit) this is just really to save brass life
After watching your short reloading videos, I couldn’t help but fall in love with that old Pacific reloading press you have. I know you told me it was passed down from your grandfather. I was so intrigued that I went on eBay to see if I could find one in good shape. As it turns out there were actually quite a few just like yours there on eBay. I found a mint condition, single stage, C-Frame, CH Press very similar to your press. It was priced at $100, which I thought was a fair deal. I purchased it! I just wanted to share this story with you. Thanks Austin for all your great videos.
Man these single stage reloading videos really make me appreciate my progressive press. I can resize and prime 50 casing in a minute if I’m in a hurry.
@rohanpeacock202 that makes absolutely zero sense. So because I can crank out way more rounds they are the same as store bought ammo. You def don’t know jack about reloading hahaha and it show
I’m planning on jumping into the reloading game soon. Already ordered a mec marksman and a few other goodies. One of the calibers is also .300 weatherby for my dad and I. I’ve been wondering about how many reloadings can you expect from a piece of brass? Im planning on using Peterson if I can find it but Norma is what im finding available at the moment.
When the brass starts to harden from shooting it is hard to pull over the expander ball and normally squeaks so use a torch to heat the brass then dump the brass into water to cool, you then can revive the brass over and over until the neck splits/ for 300 Wby mag you can also use 300 H&H mag brass to blow out or 8 mm Rem mag - 375 H&H mag any brass based on the 375 H&H mag can be resized for 300 Wby mag/ Peterson Brass is excellent brass./ 300 H&H mag ammo does shoot in 300 Wby mag and after you have a perfect 300 Wby mag spent brass for reloading

Looks like a lot of case trimming and deburring. I didn't see a trim stop on your trimmer. I didn't see you measure the case length after trimming. Did you get a bad lot of brass?
Question! If the starting powder charge is 100 grains of US869 for a 200gr projectile on a 300RUM, is it safe to load 90 grains of US869 for a 150gr projectile?
George, call Nosler. With the E-Tip bullets Nosler puts an extra warning in their reloading manuals to ALWAYS begin with the starting/min load due to the construction of the E-Tips specifically.
Every time you fire the brass it will stretch again. It's not a lot, so you don't have to trim very often. Also yes, brass will eventually not be usable. It really depends on the cartridge. For the 300 WBY, you can probably use it 5-8 times before it needs to be replaced. For smaller cartridges you could get from 10-20 firings.
