I know I'm late to the party but I just had to thank you for mentioning the part about using the pre-amp in the vibe to go into fuzz pedals. This is a truly underrated use that seems to work really well with just about any fuzz pedal I've tried, and that includes having it before fuzz face and tonebender style pedals. I remember finding this to be especially surprising as the input impedance for fuzz face type pedals usually means that they are often quite aggressive in their preference to be first in the chain. For those seeking old school psychedelic rock tones this is a great thing to try out and I now keep my vibe first in chain and always on so that it's pre-amp can give that warmth to every other pedal.
the 68' sounds like band of gypsy's (original U.S. Honey Uni-Vibe) and the 69' sounds like Isle Of Wight (original Japanese Shin-Ie Uni-Vibe) to my ears.
Sounds Legit. Also check out The Shiftee Vibe - it's Sick. I'm happy to see pedal-makers Trying to ReCreate . . . arguably, the most Haunting & Hypnotic of all Guitar Effects. Robin Trower's Vibe Work stand's apart. That Bridge of Sighs album is Epic.
I've been using #2 off the assembly line since February now and I have to say it is such an organic pedal. I love that about it. It changes almost like it has a soul or something. I use it a lot but then I do play a lot of Hendrix. I think this pedal will go down in history as a classic. Nico uses NOS parts that you can't get in the USA anymore. The cadmium-sulfide photoresistors were deemed hazardous by our EPA. And, if you need the foot speed control pedal, I make those for Sabbadius and have four in stock ready to go.
@@okaytastic6691 Yes, I really like it when you put it in cancel mode and you kick the bulb in, and sometimes the amp will have this total drop out and come back that just feels and sounds so good. It really is cool to have the foot control too because changing speed while you play changes the intensity some.

The original UniVibe also boosted the amp? That explains a thing or two as to why many pedals or plugins do not quite get the sound. A typical vibe pedal with a boost pedal would get near enough I guess, but the option of a more faithful replica is tempting too. Always something to learn from Pete Thorn huh. Cheers. These videos would have been very useful when i was a noob in 1986 and the shop sold me a Boss Heavy Metal pedal when i asked how to get the Hendrix sound (they probably did not have a fuzz so made sure they got a sale all the same). Reminded me of Jake E Lee in Killer Of Giants at one point in the video there. The lead tone with the faces before that part was very good. I would get addicted to that tone and never turn it off. It reminded me of Robin Trower. He pulled similar faces too :-D p.s. Do you know if the preamp in the vibe is before or after the actual vibe circuit? That would make a difference for sure. Edit. i just googled it. Schematic appears to show neither. It is parallel as far as i can tell. I counted 13 transistors total. -- Univibe model 915. That's a lot.

killer demo as usual, could easily be expanded to a full song. As for uni-vibes, I have tried a lot of the boutique ones, but found that only the old since long discontiued bulky silvery Dunlop version (this one: img.audiofanzine.com/images/u/product/thumb3/dunlop-uv-1-uni-vibe-4735.jpg ) really nails that throbbing pulse of the original Shin-ei invention. But maybe this does. I'm not as into the Robin Trower stuff these days as I was, and I still have the pedal mentioned above, should I want to revisit Bridge of Sighs or Machine Gun (Band of Gypsys). Both the original and my Dunlop has a jack for an expression pedal. Most vibes don't. Don't know if the Funky-Vibe does.
Pete, did you even try to take John Frusciante's spot in the RHCP?! Your quick little tune's stomping all over John's turf, dang you're a great player. I like this pedal too, but what amp are you using?
This pedal sounds very lush. I currently own 4 vibe pedals (even though I don't use vibe that often), that said Mr. Gear Obsessive Me could see bringing another one on board. :-) The footprint is large, that's my only criticism. PETE THORN plays diminished lick with a vibe! I've never heard that before.
I currently have a TC Electronic Viscous Vibe on my main pedal board, its very cool. The stupid thing is that I own the cheap Danelectro Vibe that probably sounds better, plastic housing at all.

I'm from Argentina, actually from the same city of the manufacturer. Amazing his pedal got so far; it's great reviews here and is used by pros. Unfortunately, he is a very rude guy personally, not helpful at all, so I kind of have mixed feelings about him and by extension about his pedals
