Looking for a monster truck in this range for my brother. I really don't want to get him a Traxxas since I hate the proprietary battery plug and generally everything they stand for, but I feel like the Hoss is the most likely to have parts support 6 years from now. I've had Horizon branded cars/boats and they're ok about discontinued model parts support but not great, and they usually don't produce a model as long as Traxxas. So 5 years from now, the Hoss will likely still be in production (maybe not for long, who knows) whereas probably the Granite and definitely the Associated will not be in production, but there will be some hit or miss parts for them at online retailers and some people selling new-old-stock parts on ebay for them. At this point, even though Traxxas doesn't seem to mention that as a feature, that appears to be something they have going for themselves, which is probably just the result of not changing up your model line that much by making new platforms that aren't based on prior models.
Nice comparison! I used to have a modified 4x4 brushless Stampede and I recently bought a Typhon 3S. I agree that the design is (way) better on the Traxxas vehicles. In Germany the Asso MT10 is the cheapest but there are not many shops that sell parts for it. The Hoss is very expensive but you can buy the stampede 4x4 for 100 bucks less. The Hoss needs alumnium shock caps then its close to bullet proof. Parts are cheap and you can get them at every gasstation or supermarket. The Arrma 3s/4s are as expensive as a Stampede 4x4. The shocks are trash and if something breaks it is hell to work on it. But it is very durable. In Germany it is a hell to buy Arrma parts they are hard to get and extremely expensive. I recommend buying the Stampede 4x4 kit with a HW BL kit and the alumnium center drive shaft. The servos of all rtr models are cheapest trash. There is no rtr with a good or better servo you need a better one for each model.
Great review, I find I like driving my Rival more than my bigger Kraton, it just drives better. I can see in your video that the granite suffers the same as the kraton - it's all over the place. Yeah I got the Rival and I honestly enjoy it more than my kraton and xmaxx, in a different way obviously, but its a super fun truck, and handles like a 600 dollars truck
1/10 scale 4x4 monster trucks should not cost more than $300 especially when they use $200 buggy chassis with bigger wheels etc But l get they re popular bashers so they sell lots

Hello, I'm RC player from China. I'm looking at a few models right now: arrma granite V3, teamssociated mt10 and arrma outcast 4S. I prefer arrma's car, but after watching your video, I think mt10 is also very good. I'd like to hear your suggestion. Is it better to choose granite V3 or mt10? Is outcast 4S coming out with a new model (V5)? Thank you very much. --By Google translation
Hi! Great video! Last summer I've got myself hooked on the RC hobby. I want to buy a new car for this summer and I'm torn - should I get the Maxx or the Arrma Granite V3? I really want an all-plastic design and the Arrma 3S V3 line is tempting with the price - 420 USD for the Granite here and 620 USD for the Maxx this is a big difference. But maybe If I buy the Maxx I won't have to think about repairs for a longer period? I don't know... EDIT: I mainly want to drive it on a local skatepark - not huge jumps but a lot of concrete
Arma should ditch the metal chassis for their bashers altogether. Once the metal chassis bends, it’ll never be the same even if you can bend it back. And it will never be as strong. Composite is chassis the way to go.
No clue what Traxxas was thinking having this truck closer to the Max’s price point and yet putting the Ultra shocks and that flippin 2075 slow, weak plastic geared servo in it!!! Shame on you Traxxas. I still love ya tho. But dam that’s not cool.
I struggled to understand its placement if they're going to continue selling new models of the Stampede 4x4. For that matter I thought the max was also considered a 1/10 scale.
@@Mostima115 thanks to its ''low'' (where do you even drive lol) ground clearance, the Kraton actually handles better than a typical MT. (doesn't wheelie and roll over as much) Also I've found the chassis and rear shock tower to bend easily on my kraton but on my typhon, it's been fine. From what I've seen, the 4s kraton is actually more fragile than the 6s. (especially the a arms) The corally cars have brittle a arms and a bad wingmount design (Kronos), also they're more expensive than the arrmas
@@Mostima115 what!? The V5 arrmas are 600! That's crazy. I won't buy one. But where I live, v4 arrmas are cheaper than v2 corallys. Okok, yea the weight definitely isn't optimal and I am honestly a bit disappointed with my kraton (the diffs like to break on 6s) but race cars that weigh less because of the use of more premium materials and cleverer designs also typically cost a lot more and most are kits, not RTRs Also, I usually land on grass, because there is almost nowhere to jump except in a grass field here, which means I haven't had any issues with electrics. Ps: I'm not an expert, but it seems like you are. Sorry for misleading comment above (maybe this one as well idk)
I’ll still take the associated, even though it’s slower with a few dollars of RPM arms and some adjustments on the suspension, I think it would be just as durable and fun to drive but that’s just me. I like adjustability, and AE cars run so smooth.
Really didn’t have to watch this to know the Arrma was going to come in first the other two would be a toss up for me I totally agree with you the Hoss is definitely over priced for what it comes with although if it had been released earlier than it was I probably would have bought one and done all the necessary durability upgrades. I was actually looking for a “Stampede sized” monster truck a while back ended up snatching a close out Proline Pro MT 4x4 unfortunately I didn’t know both it and the SC Fusion were both being dropped with Horizon buying out Proline if only I could have seen that far into the future I guess 🤷♂️

You can reduce or increase speed on the side speed settings. 50% 75% 100%. This is on the steerer
Great review! Granite wins again 😃 I'm trying hard to resist buying one 😂
thanks! such a good truck, the whole 3S line is good.
Haha same as me at the moment! I've recently bought the typhon and MT10 and I'm addicted already 🙃 😅
Just bought a granite love it big smile.
MT10 is in 1st. Period
Beautiful Granite
Granite 3s blx is awesome. Typhon 3s also
good video thanks
Really love my Rival MT10! i've juste bought a Team Magic E5HX, beast!
Hmmm which one!!! All 3 are sweet!
What shocks are you running on the hoss?
By far the best comparison of mts I've seen yet. Liked and subbed. Would love to see your take on the team corally Mammoth xp! Great content 👍👌
maybe!
@@RazorRC curious, why not much comparison of the Losi LMT in these monster truck videos? Not that these aren’t great and I like your style comparisons. Just curious as to why the LMT doesn’t make as many appearances. Thanks!!
About to drop some serious coin on one and want to know if I shouldn’t ha!
Great vid, are the plastic diff gears an issue?
I can not understand why mt10 is not the winner in durability?!?! Arrma differentials give many problems!!!
Yes agreed MT10 is indestructible basically
I like my granite it's a good little rc but I can't get over how weak the drive shafts are. Even on 2s they pop apart.
try loosening your slipper clutch. mine was set too tight by about a full turn by the factory.
@Lucian Carlisle so you put a supercharged big block in a Honda Civic, and you’re complaining that parts are breaking... 🤨
Hi Great vid. I wonder why granite not big rock?
thanks. the big rock is bigger than all of these 3, so a different class of monster truck.
Great video! Thanks for the review. In your opinion, which one is the most forgiving one?
I think the Rival is the easiest to drive, and the Granite the most durable.
@@RazorRC the granite more durable than the rival? How so?
Great review, I find I like driving my Rival more than my bigger Kraton, it just drives better. I can see in your video that the granite suffers the same as the kraton - it's all over the place. The included hair net on the rival that goes over the internals is great. Kinda funny result, Granite wins but you like driving the rival better.
Yeah I got the Rival and I honestly enjoy it more than my kraton and xmaxx, in a different way obviously, but its a super fun truck, and handles like a 600 dollars truck
Ohh man you missed the new redcat mt10e
I like better handling vs top
Speed. Mt10 seems to be a better choice for me. 40mph seems to
Be more than enough for fun fun fun
I like the rival..Just needs a bit more power stock
Im loving the new arrma big rock but wish it had the granite tires and rims.
My v3 3s granite will be at my house in 3 days!
Nice! Have fun with it
Their a beast
great content keep up the good work
1/10 scale 4x4 monster trucks should not cost more than $300 especially when they use $200 buggy chassis with bigger wheels etc But l get they re popular bashers so they sell lots
Yup granite is the best 🙌
Great video. Loved the comparison. What category does the BRCC fall in? I know it's the same price point as the Granite.
it's pretty much a Granite with a long wheelbase. kind of inbetween classes (classic 3S MT and 4S MT)
Great video totally agree.👍👍💯💯
Great review of these monsters trucks..... Granite 3s for the win 👍🏾
Really like all these trucks can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts just add powerful batteries with charger it's a win win situation 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Any chance you will review the Redcat MT10E? Sorry, been commenting on a few of your videos!
I saw in the comments that you are not liking what you see - could you summarize why?
Arrma all the way. Keep up the great videos.
same opinion as you Razor RC, i check the hoss to much money for make change later that are by force and for that the hoss become more expensive, but Arrma brake the but to traxxas more cheap and can be upgraded and cost less compare to hoss. Thanks man
I honestly feel like the hoss is just a re-marketed stampede 4x4 vxl. I was unimpressed when it debuted.
Buy mt10. Best differential
Which one did you get?
Just buy one and bash it and enjoy it!
ARRMA ist im Augenblick das beste zur Zeit im RC Auto Bereich.
When the best driving RC rates last then the ratings system probably needs revisiting.
HELION RC WAS AMAZING. ALL THE TRUCKS WHERE BUILIT GREAT AND STRONG
😁👍Arrma for the win!
New spur gear, new shocks, new drive shafts, should’ve just bought maxx v2. But still need new drive shafts hinge pins.
Great looking cars.
Arma should ditch the metal chassis for their bashers altogether. Once the metal chassis bends, it’ll never be the same even if you can bend it back. And it will never be as strong. Composite is chassis the way to go.
Traxxas Maxx and the Redcat RC MT10E should be in the conversation! They're probably better then all those trucks hands down!
And almost twice the price
The Maxx is costly...but I paid $250 for my MT10E I caught it on sale they usually go for $300!
@@qw0wp2 They should have just made this replace the stampede 4x4
iDs Hunter and yet almost $500. Would rather spend the extra $70 and just get the Max.
You could buy a Kraton 6s for $80 more than the Hoss, and you could get the 6s typhoon for the same price.
@@Mostima115 Whats wrong with the Kraton?
@@Mostima115 thanks to its ''low'' (where do you even drive lol) ground clearance, the Kraton actually handles better than a typical MT. (doesn't wheelie and roll over as much)
Also I've found the chassis and rear shock tower to bend easily on my kraton but on my typhon, it's been fine.
From what I've seen, the 4s kraton is actually more fragile than the 6s. (especially the a arms)
The corally cars have brittle a arms and a bad wingmount design (Kronos), also they're more expensive than the arrmas
@@Mostima115 what!? The V5 arrmas are 600! That's crazy. I won't buy one. But where I live, v4 arrmas are cheaper than v2 corallys.
Okok, yea the weight definitely isn't optimal and I am honestly a bit disappointed with my kraton (the diffs like to break on 6s) but race cars that weigh less because of the use of more premium materials and cleverer designs also typically cost a lot more and most are kits, not RTRs
Also, I usually land on grass, because there is almost nowhere to jump except in a grass field here, which means I haven't had any issues with electrics.
I like adjustability, and AE cars run so smooth.
in my last comparison with the change in pricing and the improved front arms on the Rival, I think it's a better truck now!
Really didn’t have to watch this to know the Arrma was going to come in first the other two would be a toss up for me I totally agree with you the Hoss is definitely over priced for what it comes with although if it had been released earlier than it was I probably would have bought one and done all the necessary durability upgrades. I was actually looking for a “Stampede sized” monster truck a while back ended up snatching a close out Proline Pro MT 4x4 unfortunately I didn’t know both it and the SC Fusion were both being dropped with Horizon buying out Proline if only I could have seen that far into the future I guess 🤷♂️
...and the best is... the Arrma Big Rock BLX V3!!! eheheheh
I have a 1st and 2nd generation Granite would give up both for a Maxx
Ahhhh.. really ???? I have all 4 of the arrma 3s line and also an xmaxx and a maxx and I don't think I the Maxx is a lot better than the granite ... I love my maxx but I love my granite the same
.. my granite is a damn tank lol..indistructable as my maxx and speed wise and handling about the same
@@jossuegarza215 1st generation Granite 2wd brushed with Tamiya plug the first Granite ever made 2s capacity nothing special so I would basically be trading a 3s Granite for a 4s Maxx if they are even close in comparison I like the look of the Maxx more. I do like my 3s Granite just would like to try on a Maxx !
@@garretdykstra9015 cool, my granite is a v2 3s.. and yes the looks of the maxx are better but I wouldn't buy it again.. I bought it and can't take it back but I was disappointed when I first bought it .. to make it a good rc truck you have to invest in metal driveshafts and the wide maxx kit... the plastic driveshafts that it comes with snap like pretzels after 2 minutes of hard use.they are not like the arrma 3s driveshafts..arrma made great plastic driveshafts while traxxas drive shafts suck.. so basically I paid 580 for the truck, another 150 for driveshafts and the accessories needed to install driveshafts and 58 for the widemaxx kit.. so ots about 780... more than twice the price of the granite.... after you do that to the maxx it's great and a tank but in my opinion not woth all that money ..now , my x maxx.. yes its definitely worth the 980 I paid for it
@@jossuegarza215 which maxx would you recommend I'm thinking about gettin one i like the granite but i hear 50% good stories 50% bad maybe you know a guy selling there's?
Yes to blx2 the best out of those three
I was disappointed in the Hoss and I've never been disappointed with any Traxxas product. The Granite was just more fun and it's very tough.
Lacked some details. Ranking system. You didn't tell us the total points for each truck. You did not show us ground clearance and suspension travel for each. You didn't discuss upgradeability. You didn't rank the ease of maintenance.
I'm pretty sure I like the MT10 best but cannot tell based on your review.
Traxxas MAX! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
One might be best of the 3 but not best comparded to other rc trucks ,traxxas blows iv got 4 and they are always broke but my arrmas dont have alot of problems so my choice wood be any arrma over a traxxas
