If he would have, he could have killed sasuke any second of this bout. sasuke however fought with killing intent, absorbed narutos chakra multiple times (who already fought a war pretty much by himself at this point) and also absorbed all the bijuss powers just to be a threat to him. and naruto canceled all of this with seconds of prep, got all his chakra stolen by sasuke who was out of it (again). and what did he do? punched him so hard he flew into a wall creating a crater he himself could stand in. then sasuke merged chidory with amaterasu and jumped down (gravity also on his side). naruto with no chakra used a simple rasengan and canceled it out and STIL woke up first. It is absolutely clear that naruto was LEAQUES above sasuke who could not even pierce his skin with a chidori to the face.

The point of the fight was to show how far both have come and how no matter what they always ended up on opposing sides. But unlike with madara and the first hokage. No one died in the end. It was blatantly obvious that Naruto was holding back through most of that fight. He didn't get serious until sasuke took all the tailed beast chackra into his perfect susanoo. And lastly. In the final clash. Both where tired and not only did Naruto get his Chakra drained. But he had to fight gravity to jump up to clash Justus with sauske. And still tied with sauske on that exchange.

Sasuke at that point was too dangerous to be kept alive in his current state. It was literally reform or die. Naruto started getting serious after the Susanoo since he realized that killing him was appearing to be the only viable option.

Let me explain why Naruto is stronger. He had half of Kurama when they were fighting because Sauske had captured the other half. When Sauske had chakra from all tailed beasts and attacked Naruto with the strongest jutsu in his arsenal AKA Indra's arrow Naruto countered it by gathering just freaking nature energy. Now Naruto has full Kurama and other tailed beasts chakra. Also, don't forget Naruto was drained of chakra as Kurama said in the series and the reason is he was fighting in the war from the beginning, he fought Obito, Madara, Nagato, the third Raikage etc even before Sasuke joined them. Ashura and his incarnations are always stronger than Indra's incarnations, ex: Hashirama beats Madara a billion times with wood style.

Kurama and the senjutsu are naruto's powers just like all the sharingan and rinnegan powers are sasuke's. Naruto stopped that with his ability to use senjutsu, and he didn't even wanted to kill sasuke. Naruto was actively trying not to kill Sasuke while Sasuke was using everything in his power including tailed beast chakra simply to kill Naruto. Sasuke is the better written character imo and is clearly my favorite character but in this fight he took the L. Mainly because the story kind of required it to be so but whaddya do.

What I did not like about this fight, was that there were quite a few fillers involved in them. For example, at the start with both of them clashing in Taijutsu - there were no exchanges in the manga. Why, you ask? Because Sasuke is not on Naruto's level when it comes to Taijutsu. And then Sasuke fucking called Kirin, which again was not in the manga...but still Kirin is so fucking badass lol. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, Naruto was completely nerfed compared to himself in the manga
Naruto shippuden was good and all.. But god damn i think they ruined it big time by pretty much becoming a mecha anime towards the end there. Kakashi vs Toby was FIRE because of the symbolism, the choreography and it was actually hand to hand combat.. :(

Naruto want to be friends with sasuke while sasuke wants to kill Naruto to cut the bond he has. With Naruto. The point of the fight was to show how far both have come and how no matter what they always ended up on opposing sides. But unlike with madara and the first hokage. No one died in the end.
It was blatantly obvious that Naruto was holding back through most of that fight. He didn't get serious until sasuke took all the tailed beast chackra into his perfect susanoo.
And lastly. In the final clash. Both where tired and not only did Naruto get his Chakra drained. But he had to fight gravity to jump up to clash Justus with sauske. And still tied with sauske on that exchange.

Let me explain why Naruto is stronger. He had half of Kurama when they were fighting because Sauske had captured the other half. When Sauske had chakra from all tailed beasts and attacked Naruto with the strongest jutsu in his arsenal AKA Indra's arrow Naruto countered it by gathering just freaking nature energy. Now Naruto has full Kurama and other tailed beasts chakra. Also, don't forget Naruto was drained of chakra as Kurama said in the series and the reason is he was fighting in the war from the beginning, he fought Obito, Madara, Nagato, the third Raikage etc even before Sasuke joined them. Ashura and his incarnations are always stronger than Indra's incarnations, ex: Hashirama beats Madara a billion times with wood style.

The only way you cam argue that adult sasuke with both arms is stronger than Adult Naruto is if you take into account what kurama said about naruto in that Naruto, as hokage, was a little rusty that prime adult Naruto. You’re REALLY underestimating how fast natural energy can be gathered. It wasn’t a human who was gathering it, but the NINE TAILED FOX HIMSELF who was amassing a huge amount of chakra that made a tangible wave when Naruto absorbed it all. Even kurama said that he gathered TOO MUCH energy hence why his avatar took an altered appearance. You mention how Naruto could’ve killed sauske at any point which is true, but sauske could’ve done the same thing by ripping out Naruto’s soul or by absorbing all his chakra, but neither of them did it. That doesn’t make Naruto any stronger than he didn’t. You’re looking at things too in Naruto’s favor to see that they were both created to be equals.

Naruto stopped that with his ability to use senjutsu, and he didn't even wanted to kill sasuke. Sasuke even says directly to Naruto that he needs to start trying with the intent to kill and stop playing defense or he'll die... it is shown time and time again in the war arc Naruto is superior to Sasuke. What I did not like about this fight, was that there were quite a few fillers involved in them. For example, at the start with both of them clashing in Taijutsu - there were no exchanges in the manga. Why, you ask? Because Sasuke is not on Naruto's level when it comes to Taijutsu. And then Sasuke fucking called Kirin, which again was not in the manga...but still Kirin is so fucking badass lol. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, Naruto was completely nerfed compared to himself in the manga
