This is awesome! Thank you! My friend gave me a ton of plexiglass squares from one of his property cleanup jobs, and I have several adjustable pipe clamps leftover from one of my DIY projects. I’ve been stressing over how I’ll keep my clippers level when I finish my 1st rug this week, and now I’m excited that I’ll be able to build one of these myself without having to invest more money into my new hobby. Starting up with rug tufting isn’t cheap! Thanks again for helping me save some time and money! ✌🏼💜🛼
Hey Keith found you through the Ten Hundred collab . I don't want pressure you but I think you owe it to your fans to give us at a approximate time when the video will drop. I am so excited for your contribution to TH-cam largest art collaboration
Hey dude im here from the TenHun art colab. Been going through your channel and you have some really cool stuff!! I cant wait to see what you come up with for the colab! Also cant wait to dig into your channel more!!
I just thought of the collaboration piece too. Was hard to figure out who got it after boune, but somebody linked kat liepins who then linked here... i guess the video will be up soon.
I’m so excited to come across this video. Although one could spend the money to buy it the fun is in making it. Thank you so much for breaking this down!!
I'm sure you know this, but others may not- Stepped drill bits are a dream for working with plastics! They're way less likely to crack the material, have all the sizes built into one bit so that you don't have to make pilot holes, and you can get a countersink on your hole by bumping slightly into the next size up 👍
I heard the art piece is already in the next artist‘s hands. Can you give us his/her Name? We want to start pressuring them! 😂 Looking forward to see your contribution. Can’t wait!
Yes! My friend 3D DIY Dave designed this 3-d printable dust hood that hooks up to my vacuum. www.printables.com/model/148148-dust-shroud-for-shearing-jig It works great for me, hopefully it does for others!
For the strap you'd definitely be better using some pipe hanger strap. It's super cheap and you don't have to drill holes in it as it already has them.
anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 will work, you just might need to adjust the back of the shears with a shim if it doesnt reach through a thicker sheet of acrylic.
you can get the shears on amazon, i recommend the Beetro brand because thats what I have used, and you can buy one of the pre-made guides at tuftinggun.com/collections/finishing-tools/products/shearing-guide hope that helps!
это забавно, я на самом деле только что добавил вакуумную насадку в руководство. вы можете увидеть это в моем инстаграме. Спасибо! Я использовал Google Translate для этого.

Using it is soooo satisfying

Oh man that’s excellent. Welcome! And thanks
Thank you for this video 👍😊
What happened to the biggest art collab painting??
I just thought of the collaboration piece too. Was hard to figure out who got it after boune, but somebody linked kat liepins who then linked here... i guess the video will be up soon.
it came from kat to me, and is now on to the next artist. I'm working on my video now.
Thank you for this
Sweet little guide - nothing fancy but highly functional, just the way I like it! 😁
I’m so excited to come across this video. Although one could spend the money to buy it the fun is in making it. Thank you so much for breaking this down!!
i love how you shear a rug in this rug shearing guide :)
Hey, what's happening with the Ten Hundred Art Collab???
It’s in the hands of the next artist and I’m slowly working on the video edit, but life’s been kicking me in the crotch this month.
Great video man! Nice idea wonderfully explained.
Thank you!!
Just what I need! Great video Keith! Thanks much!

Yup! Absolutely right. There you have it, use stepped bits! (I didn’t have one haha)
This video was needed!
hi is there anyway u can drawing and post it so we just download it and copy from paper to plex-glass
Good explanation! Nice straightforward design.
thanks dave!
Thank you man!
This is smart , convenient , nifty, budget worthy idea/project . I thank you for this and subbing now ❤😃
Great video
I heard the art piece is already in the next artist‘s hands. Can you give us his/her Name? We want to start pressuring them! 😂 Looking forward to see your contribution. Can’t wait!
It is and I’ll ask them if it’s ok to announce it now.
@@KeithDecent don’t worry, it was a joke. Better release the name with your video. Give them some time to work in peace. 😉
I was wonder what is the width and length of the plexiglass sheet you used. I have a 12"x24" sheet to use.
Nice video. Clear instructions. Cool design. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🐒
thanks bud! this type of video isnt my usual thing so i was hoping it was clear enough!
@@KeithDecent 👍 PS never knew about snapping hose clamp.
Is there a way to add a vacuum hose to this build
Yes! My friend 3D DIY Dave designed this 3-d printable dust hood that hooks up to my vacuum.

Awesome thanks! That’s a much better idea.
My only caveat would be that it isn’t as easily adjustable.
Any schedule on the collab?
Very close to being finished. I post updates over on my IG stories when I’m working on it. Took the long weekend off for family time though.
@@KeithDecentoh yeah? How’s that going now?
Yo this vids a year ago, when is the collab gonna happen? i can't wait.
I finished this week and am starting the edit this weekend
@@KeithDecent yoooo that's great, excited to see what you add on the masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥
@@KeithDecent awesome! Can't wait for the drop! Might I suggest you post the release date on the community tab to keep us updated. Thanks!
@@KeithDecent 1 month later, any update
Thank you. It works fantastically!
Glad to hear it!
Hi! Thanks for the video! Is there any way i could purchase the guide from you directly?
Sorry, so I don’t sell them, but you can buy them at tuftinggun.com.
Hey Keith, how tall is the acrylic piece? 4mm aprox?
Yeah anything from like 4-7 mm will work out ok. Mine’s 1/8” so it’s just under 4.
Still waiting… lol
Yeah sorry. Dealing with emergency repairs on my kitchen (to avoid a collapse) and doing the edit in-between.
1/4 inch acrylic?
1/8 or 1/4" either one will work fine
Smart asf
how thick does the sheet of acrylic need to be?
anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 will work, you just might need to adjust the back of the shears with a shim if it doesnt reach through a thicker sheet of acrylic.
what are they called, haven’t been able to find one
also do you zelle them?
you can get the shears on amazon, i recommend the Beetro brand because thats what I have used, and you can buy one of the pre-made guides at
tuftinggun.com/collections/finishing-tools/products/shearing-guide
hope that helps!
How much?
$75? Where can I get one for that price
Tuftinggun.com
Where can I buy one ?
Well I don’t sell them but you can get one from tuftinggun.com if you don’t wanna make it yourself
what is the name of this tool?
the clippers are just electric sheep shears, the thing i made is a shearing guide
Can I just buy one from you?
Unfortunately not, sorry. You can get them online, and even though they’re a bit pricey, it’s a big upgrade
You can buy one here!
tuftinggun.com/products/shearing-guide
Art collab?.... where is it??..
The piece is in the next artists hands. Im working on the video as we speak.
@@KeithDecentthanks for the update :) hyped to see what you add
Bush baked beans don’t give out their ingredients just for likes!!!🤔
Dude it's a carpet plane....

How thick is the acrylic?
