really helpful video and super well done! We're roughly the same height and weight and my KTM xc-w feels 'awkward' in the standing position so I might try these risers to see if they help me feel more comfortable. And I saw that you wound up taking the risers off your ride entirely. Again, great video!
Hell ya they help tons!! I need to do it on the TE250i. when we ride you can probably see me hunched and over so I get exactly what youre saying. best upgrade. good video dude!
Thanks man! I actually filmed this a couple months ago. They definitely help standing up! However, I never fell in love with the sitting down. At first i thought it was something i would get use to, but I’m thinking about going a different direction. I picked up some fastway adjustable pegs used the other day. They’ll lower the pegs 1/2” and move them back 1/2”. I going to try that and see if i get the handling response while seated back, while still being comfortable standing. I may need to get a small rise or different bend bars, but the 1-3/4” might be just a little too much. I’ll do a “long term review” video soon. Thanks for checking out my small channel! 😁
I run 15mm risers, they are more comfy, also allow more suspension set up adjustment. Meaning, without them your front end suspension, you are adjusting ride height of the front end ,plus the suspension action , and trying to get it all to work together. where with the risers, the front automatically taller to start off, im under 6 ft, more than 15mm would be to much. Now racing in tight woods, likely set up without risers. Im more dual sport hooligan stuff these days, so comfort is always welcome.
Helpful stuff! I see you decided to take them off and go with pegs and a Windham bar. I'm 6'4" barefoot and am debating going down the risers route, but keep hearing similar stories to yours. Looking back, do you think going with something with a 1" rise or lower would have kept your seated riding comfortable? Thanks!
I took all my rise off. Risers promote bad/lazy riding position and mess up the handling. Also taller guys have longer arms, being tall doesn't necessarily mean you need risers, it's all about proportion. Risers are better suited for relaxed dual sport type riding.
Yeah I definitely agree with you. As my skills improved, I felt like they were holding me back. I couldn’t get over the bars very well in the “attack position” and I just never got use to the handling sitting down. I ended up taking them off, and going with a different set up. I’m running the fastway lowering pegs and some bars with a taller bend (Windham bend), and that seems to be a perfect combo for me. I need to do a follow up video on my set up. I wouldn’t mind having them for a dual sport, but anything you want to ride on fast trails, they’re just not ideal
I have gone back and forth on high risers like the Rox. I've run Rox risers, have them on two of my bikes still. I've just taken off a high riser on my 300xcw and put on a slightly taller than stock ktm mount. I also run fastway foot pegs, about 1/2" down and 1/2" back to open up the riding egos. I'm same height/weight and am pushing into harder riding terrain as well as trying to get faster so rider position is becoming more important and the dual sport standing up tall straight legged and back isn't going to work for me. Fitness is the biggest factor for comfort I'm finding.
I’m in the same boat. I ended up taking off the Rox bar risers and getting some fast way pegs with the drop. And then i got some bars with a higher bend, but nothing thing the 1-3/4” Rox bar risers. So far it’s been a winning combination. I think if i had a dual sport, the Rox would be great, but for tight single track i felt like they were holding me back a little
Have you had many crashes with them? I'm wondering if the bar moves or rotates after each fall since it doesn't seem like they have any texture or knurling where they clamp to the bars.
I ended up taking the bar risers off. I just couldn’t get use to them while sitting (and i sit to corner). But, i did drop the bike a handful of time with them and nothing budged.
They do look goofy 🤦🏼♂️ I ended up taking them off. I loved them at first, but could never really get use to them. I ended up going with the fastest pegs that drop down and back 1/2”, and some Windham bend bars (which are a little higher than stock) So far that’s been the golden combo for me.
Question. Do you by chance ever get speed wobbles from the risers? I got mine couple weeks ago and ever since I been having speed wobbles bad around 70 and even can feel control difference around 55-60. I have a drz400sm. Thanks in advance!
I ended up taking the risers off. I just never got use to the feel while sitting, and I felt like it was holding me back while standing. But when I had them I don't recall ever getting a speed wobble. But then again, I mostly ride tight signletrack and rocks, so I'm rarely out of 3rd gear LOL

Did u have to get new cables after installing risers??

Thx 4 the video.... what hand gaurd mount are you using for the bar clamp?
Did you have to get new cables too?

@@CrashHardEnduro awesome thanks for your reply and video
@@andyconrad2317 yeah man! Glad i could help
I think bar risers look ridiculous but I got some to see if I’d like to run them for motocross as I’m a little taller
