They put up with it because they have low self esteem and feel ashamed and often feel that they have no place to go. They often don't have enough money either.
Often times, the abuser makes it damn near impossible to get out. They've controlled just about everything in the relationship, be physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, all these things add up and it isolates the abused to the point where they feel there is no way out. And sometimes, there isn't. Beats me up inside especially bc I was a victim of abuse when I was pregnant with his baby. Now, I'm a survivor!
I love that this hand gesture has been able to help a lot of victims of abuse especiallly of domestic violence. Please continue to share videos so that those who are not yet aware of the meaning of this gesture will be able to catch on. God bless!

This reminds me of my ex-husband who is 6 ft 4 in over 200 lb I was pregnant at the time only 19 years old and he was horrible alcoholic when he drank could be the nicest guy in the world when he didn't drink, luckily I took martial arts it's pretty sad when you have to do combat with your spouse he tried manhandling me and realize really fast having a father as a Golden Glove boxer who taught me everything I know plus other skills that I had not to say that violence is the answer but sometimes especially where we were located we were living in the middle of nowhere and I felt like my screams could not be heard the ironic part is he ended up marrying my best friend so she was the one that ended up with the abusive SOB in the end I'll be honest I had to fight in order to survive and protect my son I did not want my little boy who is now 28 to think that that was a normal existence there are battered women shelters there are ways that yes you can give a certain look or something to show hey I'm in trouble not many women can fight back with a man the size of my ex-husband but unfortunately after 7 years I got pretty good at it pretty fast because I knew at the end it was not going to be Mia fetal position anymore but a lot of people don't realize that sometimes women abuse men as well but I must say at the end of the day nobody should put hands on anyone and doing it in front of children is even more horrifying they start to think that life is normal and they start imitating the violence of what they see going on, I lived it for almost 10 years I'm proud to say now that I'm with a wonderful kind-hearted man who is 10 years younger and would take the shirt off his back for anyone he is also carrying it has been taken care of me during a sickness I've been going through and surgeries sorry this was so long but I felt compelled to respond, you as a human being are worth more than being abused! @@nakimeraannette381 just remember you are worthy of being loved, it took me many years after watching my mother be abused in relationships TH-cam grow up thinking that it's the normal thing to see so when it was my turn to get married young I Was Eighteen when I met him 19 when we got married 4 months pregnant and well I didn't realize his drinking was so bad it was to the point where he would urinate in the bed from being passed out that was so gross to deal with but I was young and did not know what to do he came from a family that had money and he made good money himself I have autism spectrum my son who is now 28 also has autism spectrum but by the grace of God he doesn't show the signs because I had him in early intervention my family stepped up and so many ways thank the good Lord and therefore he didn't have to witness all the ugliness that came along with alcoholism but thank you for your kind words every human being deserves nothing short of being loved it and unconditionally so if it doesn't feel right then you need to get somewhere safe! A lot of women think that they are trapped and trust me because I was a big woman I was able to handle my own but nobody should have to be combating their partner, that only fuels the fire but I wasn't going to curl up in a ball and let him just beat on me when I see the belt in his hand it reminds me of The Godfather when the husband was beating Connie who was pregnant at the time he knew well that the brother was coming for him if he ever did it again the typical Italian storyline goes but we all know what happens to Sonny sorry this was so long just embrace yourself each and every day look in the mirror and say you are beautiful! This is so sad she has to go through this I know how she feels I was once a victim of domestic violence and everyone even the town folk looked at me like I was just trash and I was no good because I stayed with him and I didn't stay with him because I liked to get abused I stayed because my family and friends and the whole town looked down on me and wouldn't even help me or get me help so I stayed I had no other place to turn to and nobody to turn to and I didn't have any sources to get help so I stayed and prayed in silence and God prevailed for me God is good

This reminds me of my ex-husband who is 6 ft 4 in over 200 lb I was pregnant at the time only 19 years old and he was horrible alcoholic when he drank could be the nicest guy in the world when he didn't drink, luckily I took martial arts it's pretty sad when you have to do combat with your spouse he tried manhandling me and realize really fast having a father as a Golden Glove boxer who taught me everything I know plus other skills that I had not to say that violence is the answer but sometimes especially where we were located we were living in the middle of nowhere and I felt like my screams could not be heard the ironic part is he ended up marrying my best friend so she was the one that ended up with the abusive SOB in the end I'll be honest I had to fight in order to survive and protect my son I did not want my little boy who is now 28 to think that that was a normal existence there are battered women shelters there are ways that yes you can give a certain look or something to show hey I'm in trouble not many women can fight back with a man the size of my ex-husband but unfortunately after 7 years I got pretty good at it pretty fast because I knew at the end it was not going to be Mia fetal position anymore but a lot of people don't realize that sometimes women abuse men as well but I must say at the end of the day nobody should put hands on anyone and doing it in front of children is even more horrifying they start to think that life is normal and they start imitating the violence of what they see going on, I lived it for almost 10 years I'm proud to say now that I'm with a wonderful kind-hearted man who is 10 years younger and would take the shirt off his back for anyone he is also carrying it has been taken care of me during a sickness I've been going through and surgeries sorry this was so long but I felt compelled to respond, you as a human being are worth more than being abused! And don't let anyone fill your head with you're not lovable or you're not worthy of being loved because you were all that and more God bless xoxo

@@nakimeraannette381 just remember you are worthy of being loved, it took me many years after watching my mother be abused in relationships TH-cam grow up thinking that it's the normal thing to see so when it was my turn to get married young I Was Eighteen when I met him 19 when we got married 4 months pregnant and well I didn't realize his drinking was so bad it was to the point where he would urinate in the bed from being passed out that was so gross to deal with but I was young and did not know what to do he came from a family that had money and he made good money himself I have autism spectrum my son who is now 28 also has autism spectrum but by the grace of God he doesn't show the signs because I had him in early intervention my family stepped up and so many ways thank the good Lord and therefore he didn't have to witness all the ugliness that came along with alcoholism but thank you for your kind words every human being deserves nothing short of being loved it and unconditionally so if it doesn't feel right then you need to get somewhere safe! A lot of women think that they are trapped and trust me because I was a big woman I was able to handle my own but nobody should have to be combating their partner, that only fuels the fire but I wasn't going to curl up in a ball and let him just beat on me when I see the belt in his hand it reminds me of The Godfather when the husband was beating Connie who was pregnant at the time he knew well that the brother was coming for him if he ever did it again the typical Italian storyline goes but we all know what happens to Sonny sorry this was so long just embrace yourself each and every day look in the mirror and say you are beautiful! You are strong! And you are a child of God Emoji ❤️
