It is a good idea, but it is very easy to roll backwards on it wile working on the floor, it also uses your glute muscles ALOT, and can get very tiering, also it develops blisters on your knees slightly worse than your average knee pads from my experience, but still it’s a very good idea but could use some small design tweaks
If you live in hot area during day and cold during night, you must wet or spray the back of tiles before install it or submerge into water for half and hour. The water that stick in micro pores of tile act as vehicle for cement mixture to penetrate into micro pores on the back of tile to create strong bond.
Thinset sticks better to the back of the tiles when the tiles are dry. As a master tilesetter, I learn from best. However, he should back better the back of tiles for proper installation and push tile down in cement before wedging the clips
Also depends on where the tile is being placed since it’s floor tile I don’t think you’re worried about creating the maximum bonding strength say as you would when installing on roofs
@@zacharaswaby2429 i am not tile installer by profession but i did installed tiles and tile job repair for floor tile that detached at my house. In my area where hot during day, many 2'x2' tiles that had been installed by professional tile installer detached from floor after about three years. So i decided to repaired by myself. I used a higher ratio of water to cement for thinset. Not as easy as much lower ratio to cement thinset to worked with but so after more than three years, no hollow sound when i knocked the tiles that i repaired. Most tile installer use much less water to cement ratio because it much faster to work with and they do not submerge the tile into water to create strong bond especially when using much drier thinset.

No way that tile is set. That thing is floating above the thinset
I noticed that too, he needs to compress the tile into the thinset, a rubber mallet works nicely on larger tiles

Perfect I like those tiles
These are the real hard workers in America let's respect them at least. 👍
Good lord! Always remove the baseboards first.
I agree. The hack before me tiled around them in my house
Yes, it makes everything look better because the baseboard appears the size it was meant to be.
And backbutter the tile.
Only if the customer pays for it, most don't want the added expense

Wrong. Yall just wasting thinset. Soak your tiles.
Flat trowel thinset on tile back for superior bond. Many tiles especially with a texture need better contact.
