Story behind Donneys artificial shell. He fought against Bebop and Rocksteady alone and during the fight was pinned down by Bebop while Rocksteady caves his shell in with a sledge hammer. Fugitoid then transfers Dons consciousness into Metalhead while both Don (MH) and Fugitoid craft a synthetic shell for Dons now recovering body. The comics do a good job for the most part showing how his shell is artificial and recently (around issues 110s) it’s revealed that while Dons artificial shell doesn’t physically bother him or cause him any discomfort, he still feels a disconnect with it as a form of trauma.
The Idw turtles are usually protrayed as being slightly shorter than the average person with Donny being the tallest. Compared to Casey and April they usually go up to their shoulders.
