  • When the time has arrived for our soul to depart from this life, the Angel of Death will come and take our soul back to Allah. When your family members have left the graveyard after burying you, there will be tests that you will have to face in your grave.

I feel so blessed to be a Muslim. I love this series. I used to be a Christian and there are so many conflicting ideas about what happens when someone dies, like pergatory, going straight to Heaven, staying in the grave...which is it?! Your lectures have made it so clear.
I lost all my Christian family except my brother in the past three years and I've been struggling and grieving with what may be happening to them, especially since two of them chose cremation. This series has made me now settled about that and understanding what's going on.
May Allah bless every Muslim and grant us all Jennah Firdaus.

Maximizing of deeds by Allāh ˹GOD Almighty˺ is through His infinite mercy and wisdom because the level of paradise attained through those trials [many examples can be found] will basically be the level you're on for the rest of eternity. Also, those who are destined for Hellfire [may Allāh ˹GOD Almighty˺ protect us] will also probably be in that punishment unless Allāh ˹GOD Almighty˺ wills to increase it [Quran 78:30]

Du’a for protection from the hardships of sakarat (pangs of death):
    اَللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ
    Allahumma a’inni ‘ala sakaratil mawt
Translation: O Allah, assist me in the difficulty of death and at the time of sakarat.
(Mustadrak Hakim, Hadith: 3731, 4386 - Hafiz Dhahabi has authenticated this Hadith.)

Episode 3 Notes: The Angel of Death & The Fitna of the Grave
    Sakarat Al Mut:
Sakarat Al Maut is a Quranic term that, means unconsciousness when one is about to die, which signals ones death. Everyone will undergo Sakarat Al Maut and it will be of varying levels depending on the persons status. But, ultimately Allah SWT knows best. For the righteous Muslim, the Sakarat Al Maut are the final pain they will feel in the Dunya.
The Prophet SAW taught Muslims a Dua to protect them from Sakarat Al Mut:
    Allahumma A'Inni Ala Sakaratul Maut
Translation: O Allah, assist me in the difficulty of death and at the time of Sakarat.
Amr Ibn Al As RA described the Sakarat Al Maut to his son Abdullah, as he was undergoing it. Amr RA explained how his chest felt like there was a mountain was on top off it. At the same time, he felt as if there were pins pushing outward from inside his body. He described how he felt his soul was being told to go through the eye of a needle.
    The Fitna of the Grave:
The Fitna of the Grave is different to the Adhab of the Grave. The Fitna is what everyone will go through but, the Adhab is for the sinful/kafir only. The Fitna of the Grave is when a Ruh undergoes examination by Munkar and Nakir. The Adhab is the torture of the sinful person in the grave.
During the Fitna of the Grave, the Angels sit up the Ruh and ask him the 3 questions. It is mentioned that Munkar and Nakir are bluish and darkish in colour. Not everyone goes through the Fitna of the Grave, there are some exceptions such as:
    1. The Shaheed i.e the one who died as a martyr.
    2. Those who died via an internal disease, drowning or a fire.
    3. The one who died protecting the borders of Islam.
    4. The one who died on a Friday. (Although this doesn’t mean anyone who died on a Friday is spared.)
Fun Trivia fact: Imam Al-Qurtubi RH stated in his books, “no one should assume they won’t have the Sakarat Al Maut, considering the fact that, the Anbiya AS underwent them”.
Fun Trivia fact: Shuhadah are the only ones who may (potentially) be excused from the Sakarat Al Maut.
Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW would often make dua to Allah SWT, asking him for protection from the Fitna of the Grave and the Adhab of the Grave.
Fun Trivia fact: The wideness of a person’s grave depends on the piety of the person.
    ======================================================================================================
Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh Series
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Barzakh series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. It Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.
Lastly, I have uploaded the notes to Dropbox, if anyone wants them in one document then comment below. I also have done notes on Sheikh YQs Seerah series and Mothers of the Believers series. You can find them below the episodes on his channel in comments.
Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins. Ameen!

Im not 100% sure... but they are not being held accountable for their sins as they're not of age yet for them to count. Since the fitnah t'ul kabr is for people who have sinned as either a means of punishment or expiation it wouldn't make sense for it to be applied to a group of people who's sins don't even hold up to accountability.
