Glad I watched this, Jake is definitely not the guy that the internet wanted to paint him as at some point. Also, some very relatable stuff. I was always praised by my teachers, "you can do anything you want in life, please don't waste your talents" they would say, but that meant nothing to me because the person I needed to hear that from was my father, who never ever gave me a single compliment about anything. When I won a swimming prize on 4th grade and my mom told him about it, he just shouted "Well who was it that constantly took him to swimming halls as a child? Me! Of course he's good at it, he better be!" When I became good at something he had absolutely no understanding of, and completely on my own, he would tell me it's a worthless skill (programming, pencil/charcoal art, basketball/soccer). It was really hard to have any dreams or think I could make it on any path, so I kinda just didn't even try.

The elder sibling tends to be most concerned with being the smartest and most accomplished in meaningless realms. The youngest tend to be most concerned with family harmony and love. Elder siblings want to demolish their younger siblings at every turn. Jake hiding his feelings and keeping things behind the scenes is very much so youngest sibling behaviour. We get stomped all over until we are older and can actually stand up for ourselves. Then we punish the eldest for their sins against us and the family. As for my significant other, I don't know if he is Narcissistic or not but he does have traits. We are in couple's counseling to learn how to communicate so maybe he won't belittle, lash out, cheat, etc... He may just be an asshole, idk but my brother was 100% diagnosed so I do know what it's like dealing with a narcissist loved one, who also is extremely TOXIC 🙄.

Glad I watched this, Jake is definitely not the guy that the internet wanted to paint him as at some point. Also, some very relatable stuff. I was always praised by my teachers, "you can do anything you want in life, please don't waste your talents" they would say, but that meant nothing to me because the person I needed to hear that from was my father, who never ever gave me a single compliment about anything. When I won a swimming prize on 4th grade and my mom told him about it, he just shouted "Well who was it that constantly took him to swimming halls as a child? Me! Of course he's good at it, he better be!" When I became good at something he had absolutely no understanding of, and completely on my own, he would tell me it's a worthless skill (programming, pencil/charcoal art, basketball/soccer). It was really hard to have any dreams or think I could make it on any path, so I kinda just didn't even try.
I wasn't a fan of Jake but he's grown on me, he's matured and I'm actually a fan now. I really do hope he becomes a world champ one day. It would be a story for the history books.

Jake has a loyalty to Logan that Logan has never had with Jake. I am the younger sibling and I fully understand his feelings. The elder sibling tends to be most concerned with being the smartest and most accomplished in meaningless realms. The youngest tend to be most concerned with family harmony and love. Elder siblings want to demolish their younger siblings at every turn. Jake hiding his feelings and keeping things behind the scenes is very much so youngest sibling behaviour. We get stomped all over until we are older and can actually stand up for ourselves. Then we punish the eldest for their sins against us and the family. We are very loving but do not mistake that for weakness. I’m proud of Jake for how much he has grown and how he handled this situation. Youngest siblings rule. Do you brother.
