I have 2- generators and I also have an extra carburetor for each one , they are cheap as heck and make me feel safe to have replaceable parts on hand . My wife thinks I’m OCD! Great video glad to see her running again
an extra carburetor is incredibly cheap insurance like you said. I’ve got a video somewhere about four dollar part on the shelf can be the difference between life and death. during that 2021 freeze my fuel valve broke off the first time I started the generator and it was not something I could repair in the field.
Helpful tip, to clean out the main jet grab yourself a wire bread tie and strip off the insulation and use the wire to poke and prod into the teeny tiny hole inside the jet. You can even look inside the carb to make sure you see the wire poking through to ensure the main jet is clear of any obstructions. Hope this helps someone!

New fuel filter occasionally helps too!
especially the way the bottom of the fuel bowl looked. I prefer the clear filters as you can see how bad it is getting.
