This is amazing- new to bass and learning along with these tabs! Got to the “get you” part of the song where theres the 9-12-2 progression on different strings... what’s that called? Need to look up what to do there lol.
Thanks!! I mean the 9 and 12 are just some reference points , its not precisely there, but its called slides. I slide up from the 9th on the A string and slide down from the 12th on the E string and land on 2. Hope that with this explanation and hearing it again you can get it , otherwise send me a message on Instagram and help you even deeper.

You ABSO-friggin-LUTELY **NAILED**!! “Do You Really Like Me” (!), but this one sounds a wee little bit off. The slides don’t sound “right” to me (do covers really need to sound 100% exactly like the recording?).
I dunno, there’s something about the slide that doesn’t match up with the original, ie the attack, the speed, I can’t say otherwise *I’d* be the one making YT videos - and RAKING IN THAT TH-cam CASH, B-BEEEE!!!

Hey! It 1:13 how are you playing that? Do I slide from the A string 9th fret to the E string 12th fret back to the A string 2nd fret and then so on? I’m confused! Thank You.

You dont slide from One to the other. 9 and 12 are just some reference points. Just slide up from on the A string and then down on the E. Dont get too caught up on Numbers , search for the sound that you ear and try to replicate.

I have the tone and the bridge pickup on 0 and the neck pickup all the way up, that gives a really low tone on this PJ bass.
The other part is maybe in the fingers, tone has a lot to do with your technique.

Sorry if I'm late, but the best thing to do is to always start slow. Use a metronome, play it as slow as you don't make any mistakes and once you can play at a certain tempo for like 5 times without any mistake increase the tempo! Good luck

How do you slide from different strings like in the 9 to 12 frets?
I slide from the 9th fret on the A string upwards and than catch the 12th fret of the E string and slide down. Its easier if you listen carefully to the sound and try to repeat :)

What do you mean with muted open string? A ghost note or muted note its always the same , you have your fingers slightly touching the string without fretting to give the mufffled sound :)

I can tell you that I'm directly recording to a Focusrite Solo and I'm using the neck pickup fully on and bridge and tone pickup fully off. Apart from that , technique :)
