    My cousin used to move into peoples’ houses with her husband and their kids, then refuse to leave. She’d say oh just a couple more weeks, then stay until they would have to get the police involved. The last time they did this, the elderly woman’s husband died, and the family needed to sell the property to take care of expenses and move their mom in with them. The only way to get them out was to sell the property for cheap and have the new homeowners call the police to get them out. They trashed the place and stole their appliances. She is absolute garbage and an embarrassment to our family.

      That's why when you know that you're going to have a piece of property that's going to sit vacant, you get a lease agreement with a family member and go to the bank and sign it with a notary. With the notary signature if anyone squats on the property and moves in without you knowing you can have them removed immediately by the police because whatever fake documents they have will not decide with a notary and so the police will know they're obviously fake

      Father-in-law owned a Real Estate Company that managed a large number of rentals. By law, he was forbidden from contact previous landlords to get the history of anyone submitting an application to rent a home. If they could cover the first and last month's rent they could get the rental. He knew many times they were going to run out and leave the home with damages that far exceeded what they had paid. I also thought it would be great that you could have a nation wide database with names, ssn and pictures with history of rentals that property managers could access.

Unless, you’re born into a well off family, but that’s not bound by any specific race. All you’re doing is finding something to blame so you can be lazy and do nothing. On top of which, you further segregate races and ethnicities by claiming such none sense. You realize if there is something that needs to be changed, the only way to do so is by a unified country and not a divided one, right? Also, I’m Hispanic and happen to be pretty fit. If we’re going off of what names suggest, where should I start on that ignorant ass name?

    I saw a TH-cam video on how this was handled, without going to court. The owner of the house provided a written lease to a large friend. The friend "moved" into the house in the late morning while the squatters were away. When the squatters arrived, he told them that he was living there. He ate their food, played loud music throughout the night and was basically a pita. The squatters called the police, but the friend showed the police a copy of the lease the homeowner provided to him and the police left. So basically, the friend squatted on the squatters until they left.
    I may have changed the story a bit, but that was the gist of it.

      @D R I understand what youre saying. Im afraid thats the case with most things nowadays. I'm from Amsterdam what used to be a very liberal city. Prostitution is allowed, smoking weed was tolerated since the 70s but now its getting more and more strict. In coffeeshops, which is a place to buy and smoke marihuana, is now forbidden to smoke inside if you roll your joint with tobacco. This has to do with the new tobacco laws. Imagine explaining this to tourists. Its okay to smoke marihuana but its illegal to put tobacco mixed in with your herbs. Another example BBQ in the park is illegal now in most big parks because some people are assholes that dont clean up after themselves so they banned BBQ for EVERYBODY. This might be simple/dumb examples but its to have an idea.

      Okay, but if the landlords are actually running the information and doing the backgrounds on these people like they're supposed to, they'd never even get to move in. You'd know that they're not the same people. To me, it sounds like these folks managed to convince the landlords to not run anything on them before they moved in. If they're not even going to do that little bit of their jobs to ensure their assets are protected, why should anybody care that they're letting crooks in?
      I mean, isn't that the point of wanting a landlord, to have somebody around whose job it is to ensure that your neighbors aren't bad people and your home is safe? You know, besides the expenses side of it, you generally rent because you're delegating that responsibility to somebody else for a fee.
      These guys are either very good at stealing information, or they're pointing out a large number of landlords who aren't even doing the minimum they need to be doing to be landlords.

    • @SLOBeachboy
      @SLOBeachboy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Jewel 123 - - Unfortunately that would not really do much good because these people are smart enough to not rent from professional property management companies. They are renting from individuals who own these properties and want to rent them out. After all, a property management company is going follow a specific set of procedures in every single case no matter what, while an individual owner can easily be conned into letting things slide. Personally I would NEVER let a potential tenant move in until the first check cleared, no matter how perfect a tenant he seemed to be but many people don't strictly follow this rule.
      Of course this particular con artist couple has more than enough money to write a good check for the deposit and first month rent and still come out way ahead since it would take so long to evict them once the next months rent check bounced. They would never do this in a million years however because their scam is about much more than just money. Basically these types actually get off on pulling one over on these homeowners and ruining their lives. In fact, they get immense satisfaction from knowing that the homeowner never got a sent from them and so its important that they don’t have to pay anything at all to get the scam started. They basically feel they are smarter than everyone else and they need to constantly prove this to themselves by conning people.
      Unfortunately I don’t really have time right now to get into the whole psychological profile of these types but just be aware that the motivation is not simply money. I know for most of us it hard to imagine a person who is not only incapable of feeling empathy but who actually derives joy from conning people and causing them severe financial strife but these types are out there nonetheless.

      A lease is a private agreement.
      If they lost their job because of that flyer or can prove it is harder to find a place to live now you can say goodbye to your bank account. 😉

    The following works for regular landlord/tenant eviction disputes AND squatters. 1: Remove the doors and windows from the property so you can, lol, "weather proof" them. 2: Load them up so you can "go to your shop and perform the necessary modifications." 3: Don't bring them back (due to equipment failure at your shop, if anybody asks). Depending on the season and the local bug population, they'll get out pretty quick. They can't file any complaints because they have ZERO legal standing for being on the property in the first place. As the property owner, you always have the right to do property upgrades, but "tenants under eviction orders" or "squatters" are NOT allowed to do any modifications, so any form of complaint will just be ignored. A friend of mine uses this method to evict nuisance tenants instead of the courts. It's a lot faster and as a bonus, the people on the property are so happy that they'll soon have new weather proofing (lol) that you'll usually get no beef while you are extracting the doors and windows from their frames. LMFAO!!!

If those children are actually their children, then they are most certainly being hurt - psychologically, with moving every 4 to 6 months ( are they even in the same school?) and if they are living with those parents they are being raised to think fraud is acceptable behaviour. CPS should be all over this, and a Judge should order that their kids be removed until they establish themselves and pay 3 months in advance. Also - this situation has absolutely NOTHING to do with " handing out money" - these two are grifters, fraudsters, con artists. They know the laws and how to work around them. They are criminals ( not to mention Sociopaths) and are entirely separate from someone on assistance who actually needs it. The problem is the Laws pertaining to this behaviour. Surely a creative Judge could find a way to hold them in contempt or garnishee their wages.

    I had renters try to do this to me once.....I entered with a gas mask & threw 4 bug bombs........as they ran choking.....I changed the locks with my mask on. Then I immediately installed 2 family members who had a ready made lease signed & in hand. When the police showed up.....it was much easier. For some reason the police are not allowed to actually kick renters out.....but since I already had the scammers physically out & had others in there, the police couldn't kick out my family actors. They had a signed lease. They showed the signed lease & hand written receipt for rent, then closed the door & said they weren't leaving & were done talking about it. When the police called me I ignored the calls. Eventually the police finally got around to asking the scammers for soe proof THEY had paid rent, which of course they couldn't produce. So the police told the wanna be squatters that if they thought they had a legal right to the place....(which of course they didn't as they never paid any money) they should take me to court. It's a shame all this was necessary but you just have to use your brains & get them out.

      its not so easy. Nobody is going to jail anyone for lying on an application. Fraud would be more like having a fake driver's license and providing it as a document to a government worker or a bank. But simple lying is too petty to prosecute and is a waste of time

      Well, their track record proves that they are entering contracts with the intention of breaking them - which is pretty much the definition of fraud.
      The lies on the applications are just the icing on the cake.

    • @artyomarty391
      @artyomarty391 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If we were to prosecute everyone who lies on private applications, we'd put half the country in jail. The only kind of fraud the legal system cares about is the making of fake government issued ID's. As for entering contracts with the intention of breaking them, this is hard to prove. In criminal court, where you need to have 99% certainty that someone is guilty, this is hard to achieve: the accused can simply say "well, I was hoping that my new salary raise would allow us to pay the bills and I was hoping I would stop my gambling habits, etc". I dont think there's a law that says if you lie to a private party then you will go to jail (unless under oath or working for the gov)
      If you prosecute in civil court and try to get money back, this is oftentimes not worth it because of all the stress you will go through, although I am pretty sure many if not all the people sued them for what happened (as a paralegal, I would). But this is a lengthy process and unless its alot of zeroes in the amount owed, its probably not worth it. In landlord-tenant cases, you dont get much money above your damages. So if they owe you like $10k, be prepared to get like $12 k and no more and possibly reimbursement for lawyers fee depending on the state/county, and this process would take 1-2 years and especially longer if you are suing this couple because they know how to game the system. At the last day of the trial, they could simply do something pathetic like declaring bankruptcy or some shit (one of our clients did just that). In landlord-tenant cases, the tenant has significant legal power in the US especially if they know the law, and finding out everything about one aspect of the law (landlord- tenant law in this case) is not that difficult
      Additionally, it was said in the video that this couple is very experienced with this field so they probably know what not to do to get criminally charged or civilly sued or how to indefinitely prolong a case or get a case dismissed

    • @notroll1279
      @notroll1279 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the US are closer to having half the country in jail than any other country. And in a case of serial evictions such as shown here, fraud is a pretty compelling charge.

All those homeowners at once would have a huge impact. I don't think any judge would go lightly on them if 13-14 swindled homeowners showed up in court demanding back rent. Also, I think that would qualify as a criminal case, which would give them a felony criminal record. That's something that would show up when homeowners go to check their rental background.

    Actually it is criminal. Although it isn't a crime to bounce a check because mistakes happen. A pattern can be demonstrated in that they've done it multiple times to different people. They, having no intent on paying, are defrauding the homeowners. Fraud is a crime.
