2:34, I actually saw this bumper in 2016 or 2017 when I was 8, I sometimes be in a therapy room alone as my parents talk with the therapist about my problems, when I was with the therapist, she has vhs collections with a Sesame Street vhs tapes (it’s the different tape that does not have Elmo on the background with the live music during the credits roll) so I watched it alone while the therapist was talking to my parents, and after the credits roll, when I saw that bumper, I ran to the door scared and knock on the door because how frightening it is, it does not scared me as a teenager, but I will remember that bumper in my flashback.
I didn’t see this logo when I was a kid but when I saw this video it kind of scared me but at the same time it didn’t but when I went to sleep that night I felt like Maria would appear out of nowhere in my room and shout it in my ear.

I actually saw number 9 when I watched the 30th aniversary DVD and I'd always hide behind the TV because it was kinda creepy to me. My grandma still owns it but I think I don't know where the disc is.
Some of these ngl they were a lil creepy but most of these just shows yall were scared of EVERYTHINGGGG as a kid 😂😂😂
I feel that. I was barely scared of any of these logos, and I have autism and feared commercial jingles with barbershop choirs in it.

For the Paramount Home Entertainment (formerly known as Paramount Home Video) were narrated by different actors. The 1999 ones were narrated by Beau Weaver while the 2002 Paramount 90th Anniversary ones were narrated by Brian Cummings.
Brian Cummings also narrated the BVHE film reel bumpers.
The guy that narrates the Richard scarry promo sounds like moose a moose from noggin and nick jr

not going to lie I kinda like the 1992-94 Disney bumpers Although I do agree if I had to say the scariest domestic Dinsey VHS bumper I'd pick the crow bumpers those actually did scare me when I first saw them. If I had to pick a number 1 I'd say it's paramount's VHS Feature Presentation bumper since that gave me nightmares as a kid the music/the announcer/the font looks dramatic/and worst of all the fact the text zooms in to where it's about to be on the screen at least I didn't see the flashbang/crow bumpers until I was a teenager I do think the crow bumpers in theory are scarier than Paramount's VHS bumper but that's closer to me

When I was younger, I was watching a Disney VHS tape. There was a promo for a Bugs Life & I think it was the lady bug who was talking to the camera.
At one point the lady bug winks & I don’t know why it scared me so bad I started crying & ran out of the room to get my Nan who was probably upstairs at the time. I don’t know why I was scared of that promo as a little kid but I guess I was young.
I tried to look for it so I could see it for myself but I couldn’t find it anywhere on TH-cam.can you tell me the VHS tape it was on plz

#9: If you were to have dead silence and then blast this, I'd jump instantly. It's the same when I clean my dvd player with my memorex dvd player cleaner
#8: Suprisingly, This is the only music in a disney bumper I like that isn't the OG feature presentation logo.
#7: Oh dear god. Sometimes I hate being autistic and the music in this is why. I do not like how this one sounds. To me, it sounds way disturbing. And I think this was only on the UK releases considering the text style.
#6: Ok What the heck is that! That belongs straight in the uncanny valley.

Primarilly the music. The music in the #7 spot is primarilly disturbing and creeps me out enough, but combine that with text in a different language and visuals that rub me the wrong way despite it just being text on a background, Yeah this one was definetely worthy of the #1 Spot
The Sesame Street website promo scared me because just like the Sesame Street on the web the newer version would have silence before it before the Elmo came in loudly typing on the keyboard in a white void of nothing which is also kinda unsettling I used to run and eject the disc out of my DVD player right after the credits ended when I was little so I didn’t have to watch that hellish promo

The flash bangs never bothered me even to this day but that crow thing is now on my list of terrifying bumpers 😥
The worst bumpers and promos I'm terrified of is the text writing promos from Disney you'll mostly see it in the beauty and the beast and sleeping beauty VHS I get goosebumps and chills everytime I think about it 😖

The only promo on this video that weirded me out was the Beginner Book Video Promo (both versions) but it never scared me or gave me nightmares, the only promo that did was the Joe Scruggs one that was on a few of my Barney tapes I had back then. Mainly the slow music and visuals creeped me out. Surprised you didn't include that!

This isn't really a vhs thing but when I was younger the start of the original Muppet movie scared me so much. It's the bit where the Jim Henson logo is there and Kermit is using the camera

5. I don’t find the music that bad. But there’s another version of the bumper that has a blue background with yellow captions. I don’t like that version that much!
4. Who really thought it was a good idea to add villain music?
3. I think the 1991 version is worse than the 1994 version. At least the 1994 version had music and the narrator didn’t sound as bland as the 1991 version

For the Sesame Street magazine promo there was a magazine with a girl on the cover smiling which is kind of disturbing and at the end of the Kimba the white lion promo there’s a faint voice saying “Kimba”.

Hello, I don't know if you still reply to this video, but I have a question for you:
Do you know about quality control screens and test patterns that appeared at the end of some VHS tapes? When I was a kid, I had a copy of the Rocko's Modern Life: Machine Madness VHS. At the end of it, there was this whiteish-grey screen that had a tone with it. This is known as the white screen of death.
Yeah, I've occasionally encountered the WSOD.

Also, if I had to choose home video bumpers that scare me, the lionsgate Thomas dvd bumpers are kinda off putting. Silence as a “glass panel” shows up with the text written on it and then immediately disappears.
I watched this just last night, and I agree with you on some of these entries, but others I either don't remember seeing or just think they're decent enough. It's Halloween season, but the real Halloween is almost here! Good work, though!
I always was scared to watch the Fun and Fancy Free VHS, because the opening was fine until the THX logo appears. Wanting to scare me, I stopped watching that VHS.
Whenever I see the Buena Vista Home Entertainment film reel bumpers I always picture. "Press MENU to play movie or to select other options". I know you're talking about VHS bumpers but the film reel bumpers were also on DVDs. I used to watch VHS tapes a lot but nowadays me and my family started collecting DVD Discs, Blu-ray Discs, and Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs. So I don't usually watch VHS tapes anymore because the tape inside the cassettes degrade overtime.

Also, the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection logo scared me as well. I heard it one other time in another video and I covered my ears. It was even creepier when the feature presentation would randomly be in with it.
Also, the Paramount bumpers with the phrases jumping out at you still terrifies me to this day.
For some reason when I was a kid I had lots of Disney DVDs and sometimes in the beginning I think there was a guy saying "on DVD and blu-ray" with some music, I think a castle and Tinker bell spinning around the castle and taps the castle and make a ding. I hated that when I was a kid. I think they still use that sometimes on DVDs and blu-ray!
