My Dad was a former minister at Pilgrim UCC when the church moved from downtown Birmingham to Mountain Brook with the architect being Fritz Waley (sp).
I found this video when I was looking online for photos of the blue A-frame church, which shockingly do not seem to be available. This church was a landmark of my childhood, though I don't believe I ever went inside. Personally I find the building thought provoking and a fitting symbol for a city built on the steel industry, though I can understand that by 2008 it did not meet the congregation's needs. Are there similar steel clad churches of the era still in use?
