I'm a gringo from Texas and this soup is OUTSTANDING. I've never knowingly had oxtail before, so I added a 1lb of short ribs just to have some extra meat and this firrgin soup is aaaaaaaaamazing! WOW what a chef!
Made this today for dinner and it blew me away...AWESOME!! My jalapenos were huge so I substituted a fresno chili pepper for the jalapeno. I had some yukon golds, but decided to try this with yucca instead. It worked!! Thanks for all the great videos and recipes...you ROCK!!
I’ve made this for my Mexican boyfriend and his family. His mom especially was in disbelief 😂 thank you for such a great recipe that’s easy to follow. This is one of the few I’ve made by you and they’re always so good 🔥
I have had this with yucca from my local market. I knew I couldn't hope to replicate such amazing flavors. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe. Can't wait to make it when the cold weather arrives. Thank you! Such a wonderful channel!
I cannot WAIT to try your recipes, I plan on it after I get out of this funk I'm in. I love that bit you brought up about our ancestors loving presentable and colorful dishes. It's so true. My dad is half Mexican and my mom is north American native. Ive noticed since I moved with my bf (who's white) that my body doesn't like much bready/carb/pasta meals as they do. I crave veggies, meat, potatoes, and the most carby thing I crave is rice (I try to get wild rice from indigenous farms). Im trying to use more foods our ancestors ate so maybe that will help me feel healthier. Don't get me wrong, I love me some southern food or Italian food of course, but it's not what my body and taste craves most of the time
Mam, I saw an Hispanic fellow fix this soup on TH-cam. I can taste it through TH-cam! Wow! Yum,! Perfect for winter or anytime really! Crackers, Corn Bread!!!
Look at all the Lovely Colors. Who in their right mind could look at this colorful dish and not want to dig right in? That being said, I do have a Question. I have noticed on many cooking sites where , like you, they leave the Corn on the Cob WHY? Is this simply a matter of Tradition ? And if so, where did this Tradition get its Roots?
Yes...totally agree definitely need a bigger pot...I like beef ribs, and any type of beef bone with plenty of bone marrow; also plenty of celery(lots), and both types of squash(green, yellow), Bay Leaves, more Chayote, Red Potatoes skin and all, more nutrients, same with carrots, but your caldo looks yum...and you present it very well... great job....👍😋
Mmmmlooks delicious love your virgin of caldo de res ..... and I use yuca your right it's like potatoe just more work to peel. Have a blessed day beautiful 💜💜💜
This looks absolutely amazing. Caldo de res is my favorite soup and it's getting close to that season. Do you think I could substitute beef shank for oxtails?

You can also use beef bone-in shank. Here is the link to a printable version on my website where I have more information on this dish: villacocina.com/beef-soup-recipe-caldo-de-res-video/

If you use beef shank instead of oxtails how long do you cook the meat for???
Calabacita. That's what time going to call the cute little neighbor girl who knocked on my door yesterday asking if I had any sour cream because they were making chilaquiles.
Hello, love your channel! Could you possibly make this soup without the oxtail. If so, what other meat could you replace it with?
You can also use beef bone-in shank. Here is the link to a printable version on my website where I have more information on this dish: villacocina.com/beef-soup-recipe-caldo-de-res-video/
yuca is where it's at!
Love yuca
This soup is very spanish. There are several versions of this very soup all over Spain. Some have beef and others have pork.
Tomatoes are a fruit and we use it as a vegetable too
Can you please post a pazole recipe
Do you have a rabo...oxtail stew recipe to share??
Can this be made in an instant pot?
I haven't tried it myself. If you decide to give it a try let us know how it turns out.
Is there a list of ingredients and instructions or do I need to write it down as I watch the video?
Hi there! You can find the printable recipe on our website. 😊
