it's so incredible that music written 300 years ago can remain so emotionally powerful and resonant to listeners today. it's an absolute masterwork; it's the closest we get to magic

Amazing. Most of all the music itself, but the research and discovery behind it is also phenomenal. The way Márta presented is also beautiful. You made my day!

"On one stave, for a small instrument, the man writes a whole world of the deepest thoughts and most powerful feelings. If I imagined that I could have created, even conceived the piece, I am quite certain that the excess of excitement and earth-shattering experience would have driven me out of my mind." - Johannes Brahms, 1877

A revelation. I very much enjoyed this most worthy insight into one of the most treasured pieces of music in my life. Additional thanks for the considerate subtitled translation into English. Bach remains the musical grandfather to us all.

What is disturbing in the "1st variation" at the beginning of the Chaconne, that Bach wrote/hid the "bass" theme in one of the middle/upper voices, which starts with A (440 Hz). ;-) (due to instrument technical reason).

In the 1st variation all the notes of the bass theme are in the lower voice: D-D-C#-D-Bflat-G-A-D.
Later in the piece we can find the bass notes thrown apart in the higher voices. But ususally they are used in the lower voice.

Pity that the guy keeps taliking over the violinist.

The piece is nice but anyone professional violinists or whatever shouldn’t get caught up in it Enjoy it but don’t let it rule your life otherwise it’s no longer music but noise
