I’m from the United States, we kids loved the little river band here in the states! Many a party’s jamming to these guys! Our two countries so far away but enjoying the same music and the 80s at that point in time!
80s only for Aussies? The 19th century was the Golden time for music. *Check out Pop Samrat Azam Khan (Ocharon), James (Feelings/ Nagar Baul), Ayub Bachu (Love Runs Blind), Hasan (Ark). Their rule was to make only masterpiece with Raw flavour.*
I had it on a compilation tape, 88 Kix On.. I still have it to this day. I’m not even a hoarder!! I played it on my very prized Walkman and I am determined to play it back again 😅
Their best song...LRB should have promoted this song more that they did in the USA...should have been a bigger hit in America. One of the most underrated songs of all time...
I am from Indonesia. I started to listen to radio in late 1984 when I was a teenager. I like top40 show program that my local radio station aired it weekly. The first time I listened to "Love is a Bridge" was from top40 show on June 25, 1988. That was the first time I know a band named, Little River Band, and also the first time in my life I hear their song. Now, I moved to the U.S. and I am listening to this song through TH-cam. I am so excited. It brings back my old memories 32 years ago. How sweet I loved listening to this song at that time in my homeland, as well as today in the U.S. Thank you Little River Band, and thank you TH-cam. Life is beautiful!
My husband was In the RAAF(Royal Australian Air Force) and he was away lots and lots, about half of every year. He wrote down the line - each night you're away from me- and I have ever since loved this song and after him being RAAF for 33yrs and us being together and apart for 18yrs this song means lots to us both.
Such an underrated song. Most people know who the Little River Band is but when I ask people if they know this song by them they always say NO. I love how they harmonize at the end of the song. It reminds me of Cool Change.
Although this song wasn't a hit in the US, I got introduced to it from an Australian friend. Once I heard it, I fell in love with it! I have enjoyed the other songs that were popular in the states such as "Cool Change", "Lady", "Help Is On The Way," and the rest.
Why is it not on greatest hits album? I remember owning this CD in the 80s. Just now revisiting it on here and still holds up after not hearing it for 35 years. Glen top ten vocalist all time.
Brilliant track! I managed to contact Graeham Goble a while back and he told me this video was shot on the Western Highway near a lake in Victoria, Australia. Such an awesome video that reminds me of falling in love and times when you miss your partner when you are away from them. Aussies may also recognise a young Marcus Graham from E-Street in this. Anyone know who the girl is?
In June 1988 I bought the album of “ monsoon “ By the little river band and The album was a promotional LP but that didn’t really matter to me! In May of that year I heard the new single from the little river band which was” Love is a bridge” and that became my second favorite song from them!! That album marked the return of Glenn Shorrock and their original drummer... how freakin’ cool is that man!! I have this on three formats... 1) on vinyl. 2) on Cassette which is still sealed to this day when I bought it after I bought the vinyl LP in 88!! 3) on CD!! Long live this classic release in 1988!!
If a song can save a life, this one did. I'll skip the sob story, but I was below rock bottom (not from a relationship). Had the pills ready to swallow then this song......on the radio. Got help the next day and life is a full 180. Love LRB.
I remember LRB playing this on the last night of Expo 88. We were listening from the other side of the Brisbane River. I hear this song and I am there.
A great song indeed; one of Australia's best. But even more touches "A simple Life" of John Farnham my soul, both from the lyrics and the melancholic tune.
i saw Glenn Shorrock in Adelaide in 07 doing an acoustic gig and he was still awesome. even James Reyne, who was the headline act, kept waving at Glenn to keep singing.
this is good song. never heard it before, actually...never really listened to LRB's music before until now. i'm remembering songs as i listen to them, but never knew they sung them before. thanks to youtube, i can now.
LRB Lineup in 1988: Vocal: Glenn Shorrock (original) Guitar: Stephen Housden, Graeham Goble (original) Bass: Wayne Nelson Drummer: Derek Pellicci (original) Keyboard: James Roche This was the twelfth different lineup of LRB, which formed in 1975.
From the moment I heard this song..loved it and always will, Glen shorack , beautiful love story and couldn't be be sung by any other, memories,so many hits,as far back as dimentina cocktail up,.. GREAT FRONT MAN.
What's the bet the 30 dislikes are actually from people who loved but now hate the song, not because of it itself, but because of the sad memories it brings up? I know it's been a tune that's hit my emotions hard sometimes both good and bad, more good, it's a great song :)
I agree peter , not many song out there today move you like songs from the 80s. songs should provoke an emotion..Capture you with some sort of magical aura that you forget where you are and it either triggers a memory whether its good or bad..or it takes you to a different time and place. Only one song off the top of my head from this generation , that prokes a feeling in me from this generatin: is that song from fast and furious- the tribute to Paul Walker see you again. Im not usually into rap, but but the words really touched me.
@@HelenaDrummond-c3x, I was going through the comments section so I can have a little time for my fans and know how some of you feel about me and the band.
Thank you for putting this on Australian itunes! I am enjoying The whole album "Monsoon" this is quality Aussie music - beautiful melidies and harmonies!Even though it was late '80's - It's a classic in my opinion! 💛
I'd forgotten about this song, last time I heard it was when VH1 used to have this thing called music on there..it's sad what's happened to not just VH1 in that time but all of television.
Me too, I can't fully appreciate it right now, I'll have to come back to it later. Yelling at codey to get into the car, so I can drive him to work lol. Love u lots lumpy floof ❤❤❤❤
No one writes music like this now!
You're right
My favourite LRB song

88 twasy a long time ago & i recall well . Ye old days .
It's a pity that the original Australian members aren't involved in the group in anyway, they have been cut out by an impostor.
@@Yulowirri I agree, the cover band touring the states as LRB are a fraud.........
Too bad the yank of the band stole the name and now parades as something he isn't!!!
@@damienfleming2956 Exactly......
One of the greatest Aussie songs without question.
The 80s was the golden age of Aussie music.
God i miss that iconic era so much.

Probably not as good as Reminiscing though
I totally agree, this was a hit
Take it easy on me, Lady, Cool change, Reminiscing....so many great tracks 🎵

What a criminally underrated song. Should have been a single. The BIg Wigs dont know a good song
So underrated, not played enough on radio, i think this is one of their best. Thanks guy's
Glen has a great voice a real gift.
We had the best music in our years, not the shit they call music these days
Peter VERY TRUE!
Absolutely right!
I wish they would terminate "Rap crap"
I totally agree!!!
oh i had forgotten about this song 1988/9 oh those wonderful years
❤❤❤❤❤❤Great piece..
This is just a classic song that I will never tire of. What the guitarist does at 3:40 is just loveable. Legend.
Musicians like this should be lifted up on the shoulder of giants. They change my emotions. Think about it. Great gift to have.
Ahem, musicians like this ARE the giants who lift others up. They set the standard so that others can be greater still
"THe Eagles" in the USA are the Aussie's LRB. what i realy wanted to say - there ain't many singers with "Glenn Shorrock's" pipes.
Ths for the sound that we had way back

Still one of the best songs to listen to in your own space and time..very meaningful indeed!!
My dad plays 80s and 90s he likes them and I love them as well and he knows a have a couple of favourite songs but I like all songs he plays
Amazing song, just heard it again in the radio and searched the video and its amazing, great!!!
One of my favorite songs by The Little River Band❤
Deserved to be a much bigger hit. This and COOL CHANGE are their best
Night Owl and many others, but i get your drift. LRB should be the Australian "Eagles" (or better).
@@viorelmarincas6400 John Farnham is a great singer, but Glenn Shorrock made the LRB sound

Nobody did harmony rock best than LRB, esp with Glenn anchoring it.
