I always wonder whether airport security will let me carry this onboard an aircraft, because I'd definitely not document it in a suitcase.

Everything is allowed besides knifes and guns. There is no issue to carry a helmet or badges for example.

Items of this category I like to pick up and carry personally for multiple reasons. As to airport security, I'd have doubts this item could be categorized as a blunt object of some sort.
