I’m brand new and subbed for someone in a competition today-did pretty well. I want to ask if training is mostly repetition… you’re SO accurate and I’d love to get there too. Thanks for the vid!!!

Hi! I’ve been playing for 35 years so repetition? Yes 🤭😂 But yes, training on the same thing over and over again is the way to go! Good luck on your future career as a pétanque player :)

Thanks for a great video Rickard. So few petanque players share their training routines. I have a few questions.
    - What warm up routine do you have before a competition?
    - How many hours do you train yourself/week and how much with your club mates?
    - When you point, do you clean the landing spots and keep a close track of the opponents landing spots ( I know, two questions). Maybe differant on differant tracks? (now three 😄)
    - How do you handle the pressure during competitions when it comes to important shots?
I have 1000 more questions but these are what I am most curious about.

Hi! Thanks for the kind words 🙏
      - Warm up? I’m not the best in warming up, I like to be “stiff”, to much mobility and I feel insecure. But 15-20 min just throwing some boules, mentally preparing for fight.
      - Now, I train nothing… before, maybe 4-5 times a week. I never train with someone else, training is always with myself, have always been.
      - I clean my spot, but I don’t care where my opponents spots are, only player I talk with is Joachim Andersson, he’s the pointing God.
      - The pressure? It comes by itself after missing millions of shoots and points, you get the feeling in your body that it’s no problem, if you miss you miss, but it’s more fun to hit ;)
Maybe should I make a video about this 🙏

@@PetanquebyRickard Thanks Rickard! Always nice for an amateur to know how a pro thinks. 15-20 minutes sounds what I feek is ok to. I also think when it comes to training that it's best to do it yourself. As soon as someone else shows up you just wanna play some casual matches. Now I have to watch your newly posted video. 😁

Hi! In this video it’s 8 m, but when I train it’s all from 5-12 m, you never know when you need it
