    I can't imagine myself building a dedicated home theater, at least not a big one with multiple rows of stadium seating like in this video. The living room environment feels more intimate and inviting to me. As mouthwatering as JVC's top-tier projectors probably look, a 70-80" TV will be a better fit for me unless I get stinking rich out of nowhere.

  • @tr1bes

    There is one thing i know projector has one feature that a tv doesn't has.
    The ability to make animal shadow like a dog, cat, rabbit and etc. A human hand is required though.

    Never had a projector here before, can I connect it to my phone wirelessly to watch youtube or netflix like I could do with a tv? Also how do you connect a console like a ps5 for example

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost all projectors need a home theater system. You connect your gaming console and other sources to a home theater receiver which then sends the picture to the projector. You stream from your phone to a streaming source like a Roku or console.

    Hi, I have a doubt.. Am planning to set up a home theater in my room. But all my movie contents are in 1080p, which are downloaded. So, what is the best projector suited for my room to project it to a 120 inch or say to a max, 150 screen?.. I know, only 4K content looks sharp. But I only have 1080p, with more than 2000 titles. Pls advice

      Great question. The answer will really depend on the room size and how far away you might be sitting from a projector screen. This question would be best handled by one of our home theater experts in chat. - The right projector will usually come down to your needs, your room and budget, so if you need help deciding which one is right for you, come have a chat with one of our experts on audioadvice.io/aa-chat and we will be glad to help you you out! It truly depends on space. Sitting seven to eight feet away from a 75" or 87" TV in a small room supplies plenty of immersion. The brilliance and clarity of a flat panel cannot be beat for the price. Add decent surround sound and you will have the theatrical experience.

    Short Version: You want it quick and easy and have too much light in your room? Go TV
    You truly love big Theater and are willing to go the extra mile. Go Projector.
    Since i chose projector i wanna add some additional thoughts: If you still like 3D then DLP projectors are like the last displays sold that feature it. Some Projectors got incredible refreshe rate and short delays, if you where going to spend big money on those features anyways consider a projector.

    Great video. I never knew you could get a dedicated projector for short distances. One thing I'd mention in future vids is gaming. I use to game on a projector back in the xbox 360 days. But I havent kept up with projectors since. Whichever room has the best audio system is where my console will be set up. Curious as to how well projectors keep up with console such as latency, VRR, and 120hr

    As for a differences between OLED and LED TVs, LED TVs handle motion/action scenes better right? For example, a person running across the screen on an OLED TV you'll laggy images trailing behind vs an LED tv you wont. True or false?

    Projector is good for Watching everything also making link with any device would you like to watch in ( TV just a device for watching streaming and choice a movie for watching by tv or making link some devices to watch in ) But projector you need a piper screen for watch or a white background , that’s mostly just a room watching, but tv anywhere you can watch, so the best choice is a tv because is the official but projector is most for office or something important or students or teachers projector from project it means something you want to make and share it in a focusing.

    • @AudioAdvice

      We do not know of a projector with a tuner built in. You would need a separate tuner, but the other problem is you need a projector with a speaker, we only have the Epson short throw models with a speaker, and the sound is not very good. If you are going with a projector, you should do a separate home theater speaker system. Thanks for watching

    • @AudioAdvice

      Good question. A front projector will need a home theater receiver. While you could in theory have it switch with an automation system for each input it’s better to just put the aspect ratios on the smart remote. Some cable content might be widescreen and not all Blu-ray Discs are widescreen. Thanks for watching

    Great summary, and I think the approach you've outlined will help people choose the right display for their individual situations. We have a 75" TV in our Family Room, for all the reasons you've indicated - bright picture, no worry about light in the room, etc. But in order to feel like I'm really 'going to the movies', we head into the Theater Room, where the immersiveness of a 160" 2.40:1 screen and front projector just can't be beat.

    Generally I don't see the advantage to a projection screen. Simply view a projection screen side by side with a direct view screen. There's a HUGE difference in fidelity, color, and quality of the image. "Bigger" is no substitute for quality. Even a real movie theater projector won't come close to a direct view screen.

      It is an advantage if you want an immersive image and to many people the picture coming off a screen looks closer to real life. Thanks for sharing

      @@AudioAdvice Until you have them side by side at the same scale, what are you comparing? "Oh, the large dim one at twice the price, that's for me!"? Is this what you are selling? It's hard to sell a $10,000 "experience" when most people can quickly see a difference between that and a decent $1000 display in brightness, refresh rate, measurable color quality, and integration into real-world situations. Most living rooms are not going to have theater setups. In fact, most people are still placing TVs above mantels (if they are large) or opposite windows/doors/light sources.
      In building a "home theater" do you find many people making less than $50,000 a year willing to blow more than half a year's salary on this project? See, some of us have to live in the real world where decisions have to be made like the old "food or medicine". We can't just renovate an entire room for low fidelity poor performance (but hey, it looks kinda like a theater) experience.
      I encourage you to compare apples to apples. Get a decent HDR TV and set it up next to your best projection TV in the same room, side by side. See which one looks better. Which one performs better axis. Which one has better color out of the box. ETC.

      @@frosted1030 you got it backward.. The whole point of a projector is to have a huge screen at the same cost as a smaller TV. No one is saying the projector is giving you a better image than a TV

      @@AudioAdvice Okay, I know that a projector is ideal when it comes to size.
      But does it have the best picture quality??
      Let's say if I want HDR, Dolby Vision and perfect black levels. Will a projector provide me with all of that??

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@princesmith8008 If you want to watch a TV instead of what feels like a movie theater experience, you will get more of what you want in a TV. No projector has Dolby Vision. But until you have watched a movie with a great projector on a large screen, its hard to describe how different that is to watching on a TV. The creators of the content make it to be viewed on a large screen.

      @@princesmith8008I have a hard time believing anything that is lower contrast can look better. A 100 inch TV has to look better than a 100 inch projector.

    Haven't owned a tv in 36 years. Don't miss it. Real life is much more interesting rather then hiding away in a darkened room being programmed by a media company. Instead of watching pretend life in a room (which is all faked anyway with actors, scripts, FX and a storyline), go do it yourself, you will be glad you did.
