i love how the whole song starts with a "sad little guy chained and crying for being a sacrifice " and at the end of the song, the brainwash is so successful, that now same little guy is not even chained nor crying, but actually happy to be sacrificed

two things yes your right hehe but that's the point of the game. and that sad little guy is Sstupendium's avatar for this music video. most of the time he plays the lead character in the video but for this the lamb had to take centre stage.

If you had a chance to have a million dollars, but people must die, there would be many unmarked graves. Unless you simply are above/ separate from human emotion, we all would do something horrible to further our own leads/homes. And would definitely see if anyone would agree with us. And and soon as any proof that “we did that right thing” comes out, any worry about what was sacrificed for it would be gone.

I feel like another thing with that "For whom love is unconditional" line is that you have to pay your way into the "unconditional" love. If you're part of the "In" crowd, the people that are truly devoted, then you get treated exceptionally well, but as soon as you falter you get tossed aside for those who are more willing.

  • @DanaOtken

I currently believe (although I haven't played the entirety of the game) that the being talking to the Lamb over the tarot cards isn't truly a mentor or patron figure, just an amoral bystander to this universe who can see that the Lamb is both a being semi-willingly possessed by the Red Crown and a figure being controlled in a video game and is asking what the Lamb's (and indirectly the player's) beliefs on free will and destiny are out of legitimate curiosity rather than any interest in manipulating events.

Around 12:30 what you may be referring to is 'word salad'; confused or unintelligible mixture of seemingly random words and phrases. If a person's speech use of it is unintentional, it's usually a sign of a possible mental disorder.
However in this instance (and in context of the purpose of it in the song) 'narcissistic word salad' is a type of purposefully confusing speech, using circular reasoning, logical fallacies and other rhetorical devices to disorient and manipulate a person or group. Which makes sense considering for most of the song the happy notes, fast pace, and tones can distract from a lot of what's being said until the end of it. That 'point of no return moment' when a casual listener can actually follow the lyrics now, and they're grim, but it's the 'end' of the song (and the audiences' involvement in the cult) so it's too late.

  • @Osma777

Omg, I laughed at the Ghost Rider comment... it isn't as far off as you might think! The Sheep wasn't evil (at first), he was about to be unjustly killed, and was saved by "He who waits beneath". But he was possessed by the crown which gives him great powers (ghost rider power) in exchange for killing the "Old gods" who imprisoned him (Hell''s bounty hunter).
Of course, just like the Devil likes to use honeyed words to corrupt, over the course of the game you get tons of ways to do evil in exchange for quick and easy power. Most sheep fall, because gaining that power through normal means takes a LOT longer, and without it you wont succeed in killing the Old gods. You CAN take the Power of the crown and use it for good, but that is the hardest way to play.

Also an interesting line at 9:48 "we've never met an yet we meet again" which is actually said in-game, though it may be a reference to how he knew you'd show up due to him basically using the tarrot cards to predict the future or something.
"The cards we want are often drawn but seldom ever dealt" is probably saying the chance for what you want to happen is often possible, but rarely occurs.
The guy in game does offer advice and uses the cards to boost your abilities in combat areas, but doesn't really take any direct action in-game.

I like how every time the Lamb does something overtly evil or manipulative to his cultists, he's shown in the red-eye look. The brief glimpse of it in the confessional is very much telling, since many real-world cult leaders use "confidential" discussions like that with their followers to manipulate and blackmail them into doing their will. It's a blatant violation of trust but by this time the convert is so indoctrinated and brainwashed that they have no defense against it.
Overall, Stupes' portrayal of a cult leader is terrifyingly accurate.

14:43 i never really payed attention to this line before, but "sowing seeds preceeds a reaping, start a line, now who's the first? you all decided to convert so tell me, *WHY'RE YOU SO NERVOUS?"* actually really fits this game. most followers you find (like you saw at the start of the vid and the game) were about to be sacrificed until you showed up and kidnapped them. they never chose to come with you, you gave them no other option, they HAD to convert. plus they were at their LOWEST point, and they quite literally dont have any other options, so they decide to join after some... light indoctrination*. (*indoctrination may not actually be light)
after turning them into your own worshippers, a game mechanic you see at the end of the vid and in the marketing is straight up sacrificing some of your members to get power boosts, loot or even revive you if you died, reaping the reward of indoctrinating them.
im not sure what the "start a line, now whose the first" could be a refrence to, i think its cause if you play the game well and you want a power boost, some loot or you died you have to pick some poor shmuck to sacrifice to get what you need. the better you play, the more choices you have, but you cant pick someone not converted.
"you all decided to convert, so tell me, *why're you so nervous"* i already explained this one, but ill repeat for those who didnt understand my ramblings.
the people you get in your flock dont actually convert on their own. they dont approach you, YOU hunt for THEM.
they were supposed to be sacrificed to their gods, but you saved them, so they were already at their lowest point. however when you bring them into your camp they dont actually travel there with you hand in hand like this vid and the marketing show you. instead, you use your spooky crown to create a black and red portal to YANK them off the floor with a black tentacle and yeet them into your camp.
after that, you use the crown to fry their brain to basically brand them and convert them... this is not a painless process. like jt music said in their rap of this game: "why read your mind, when i can do the writing". so the lamb saying "YOU decided to convert" is him planting more seeds of doubt, adding more to the sunk cost bias and anchoring-bias the cultists already deal with, and if those two arnt bad enough, they also consider the fact the others look more confident then you about their choices, adding to the bandwagon effect.
this is only amplified with the "why're you so nervous" bit, as this makes you doubt yourself way more. "why AM i nervous? i put all this effort into being a member of this religion, and i already knew about this, so why am i nervous? no one else looks nervous... am i failing this? am i a failure? no, i cant be... right?"
l also love that line due to "the serial position effect" which basically states you dont pay attention to anything in the middle of a speech. try listening to that line with that fact in mind, it kinda sounds like "something something seeds, something something you decided to convert something something why ARE YOU SO NERVOUS?!", you kinda start losing focus till he screams "why are you so nervous". it grabs your attention immediately and makes you pay attention again cause it sounds important.
yeah, i kinda keep forgetting how much effort gets put into even the smallest bits, and thats saying SOMETHING about the quality of stupes' song

Good to see you understood the concept of a Cult to a T.
The tactics used to gain followers and keep their mind in hivemind have been used for ages to keep people in check.

adding some extra analysis for tarot guy's bit incase anyone's interested:
the tarot reader is this owl man named Clauneck who believes fate is nothing but an unchangeable straight line, as told to him by the cards. what he's saying in the lyrics is essentially "are you doing this because you want to or because you have no other choice?" alongside just overall questioning the lamb's moral compass. the line "pray that they may shift amidst the rhapsody of haro's wings" refers to the fact that the character Haro provides context to *why* the one who waits is imprisoned in the first place, which happens to reveal that toww is mainly the one in the wrong and not the bishops. i think he's speaking in a complete nonsense way because of his weirdly poetic way of talking ingame.

  • @Momo_Minomo
    @Momo_Minomo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The line about "Pray you might remain upon the list of all the cherished chosen children for whom love is unconditional" isn't saying he's recruiting literal children but refers to the habit of religions and cults to call the faithful the "children" of god or to call the head priest their "father". Using the template of a parent and child relationship encourages blind devotion and obedience on the congregation's part with the promise of being cherished and protected like a beloved child in return by the god or cult leader. After all, children are young and far too naïve to make big decisions for themselves, so it's best to leave the decisions in your "father's" hands since he's so much bigger and wiser, right? /s It also carries with it the unspoken agreement that your "father" has the right to punish you for disobedience.

You got me pretty nervous with your mind and the words it brings
A primal reading compared to others with less given in the end
The words presented give more than binary correlation
Mainly in the words expressed of yours the tarot expressed simply don’t match up
With your conclusion of trickery to simply put the wool up
Has lead many down a different path from these beats have tuned up
Yes the lamb action are out of place but the tarot reader has carried a natural pace
Leaving the oil at the door as he discusses the fate
Talking on the cult leaders choices as what path the lamb will take
Mayhaps a result from swimming to shallow in a pool biases
Quick to latch onto meaning setup by higher things
I perceive a moral evaluation has has been the focus on your reactions
As a lack of bar bring broken is first thing that drew me to this reaction
It was was a reaction so perhaps I should be more gentle
But problem I saw and issued I called as I see them without such stall
Ill enjoy a worthwhile reposed but that’s all

I reach a lot, many times I’m wrong, sometimes I’m right. Regardless I’m having fun 😁

Literally everything in this video can apply wholeheartedly to Christianity, or any religion, really.

11:00 sorry but your thoughts on this are utterly wrong because you don't know the character the lamb is talking with, that character is a neutral figure in the game, he starts out by saying "we've never met before but yet we meet again" then he puts foreword the choice "will you remain loyal to the god of the red crown or fallow your own path"
also it's not clear if the old god in chains is a dark god or more evil then the other four, he was one of a pantheon of five but the other four ganged up on him and bound him, Then to halt of prahpace that would free the red crown they other four started massacring any sheep/lamb they could find.

Well of course they are wrong haha. I’ve never played the game so that’s a given.

As many as he needs to. He reacts and breaks down, and that needs pausing otherwise he'd be talking over the video and missing stuff, which is just lame.

16:53 stupendium needs you to buy his t-shirts. he says so in the final part of the vid, which is kinda hilarious "remember, the heretic burning is at 9 pm and our dark master also said to buy some t-shirts, thank you~"

I thought that was just a funny line, something to make the Cult seem less evil
