For those who are asking about what tool Jay uses for cleaning his freshly cut ends, it looks like the Primochill finishing bit. Jay said he's using 10/13mm tubing but Primochill doesn't make one specifically for that size. I would venture to guess he's using the 3/8" x 1/2" bit since they are nearly identical.

PS All true. Jay I really like your attention to detail you show every fitting in your loop. I feel that attention to detail is the key to a Leak Proof System. I would like to share a few tips. 1. There are a lot of different fittings out there. and like you showed, a lot of different types of sealing systems. However, I can't stress this enough. When choosing fittings, the number individual peaces that make up one fitting is directly related to the possibility of a catastrophic fail (or leak). Meaning: Every place that seals a fitting to tubing, waterblock to tubing, waterblock to fitting, ext. IS A POTENTIAL LEAK. (EVERYONE) Reducing this number of SEALS without losing the quality of the long term seal and attention to detail to sealing each fitting one at a time will insure a long lived leak proof system. There is one thing I do when sealing up a custom water loop you may want to try. Teflon Tape. I tar it into thin strips and rap everything that's threaded, O-Ringed or not.

Where I live it is common practice to use copper tubing for water installations in bathrooms and kitchens. So nickel plated copper tubing in all sizes is cheap and readily available. And bending softened copper tube requires a simple tool (so inserts, sand or water required) which is, again, not so expensive, and copper tubes cost, ironically, less per meter than PETG tubing from PC water-cooling brands. Win!

Well intel is already in the panic stage, and Nvidia doesn't look much better off. The 5700 cards has caught them napping. It's true they aren't performance leaders, yet, but they are sure value leaders in the mid range and below. The 5700 XT trades blows with the 2070 Super, and I doubt Nvidia was expecting that, or that the competition would be priced as aggressively as it was. The 2070 Super was a necessary development or they could have just handed over the keys to the palace to AMD. And with the 2070 Super coming so close to the 2080 they had to release a S version of that too. Meanwhile the 2080 TI has so strong performance that there was nothing threatening it, but it looks like they think that could be about to change.
A few days back I noticed that the webshop I buy almost all parts from were dropping the price on every 2080 TI they list. I'm guessing that is because Nvidia is about to present an updated model. If they wait for the announcement there's a risk they will be left sitting on stock while almost everyone with the money for these expensive cards are waiting for the new shiny. They still have quite a lot of the 1080 TI in stock and now they can't get rid of these without dropping the prices radically. So I'm guessing they do not want to be left with a lot of the 2080 TI taking up shelf space and tying up a lot of money again.
What I think we are going to get is a 2080 TI Super of some kind. I don't think it's going to be a new architecture, it's to soon for that, but rather a upgraded version of the existing TI. And it's quite obvious why they would choose to do that. They've had these GPU's in production for about a year now (launched September 27, 2018) and have had time to get the production trimmed in. With some polish they should be able to get just a bit more performance out of the TU102-300 design, and with the threat of AMD launching Big Navi that could potentially threaten Nvidia in the high end segment, and possibly even do it at a lower price point they certainly isn't going to just hope that AMD stumbles and fail to follow up the success with the 5700 series.
When Nvidia released the RTX series they had no real competition in the mid to high performance market. Instead of going for maximum performance they put their money into developing the RT cores and the technology to accelerate ray tracing. Now it turns out that the performance just isn't there to support ray tracing in games while keeping the frame rates high, and neither the game developers nor the gamers has not flocked to the tech. Meanwhile AMD is now threatening to match the raw performance at a better price, and gamers are buying these cards even without any support for ray tracing. This is bound to make the management nervous, especially if they aren't close to being finished with the successor to their current lineup.

I remember when I first saw a build with metal tubing it was chrome or just nickel plated copper tubing. One piece runs and all bent to fit, looked so nice. But I have imagine getting anything plated in Cali is probably pretty difficult these days and expensive with the processes they have to use now. To elaborate on Jay's point of "brass and copper are okay together", brass isn't an elemental metal (i.e. Aluminium, Copper, Iron, Tin, etc.), it is a metal alloy (the combination of two metals--specifically Copper and Zinc). Being an alloy of Copper and Zinc, brass (on its own) does not react negatively with either metal. Thus using Copper and brass in a loop will not have negative affects.

tubing cutter like that, when used correctly, takes a good bit of time to cut the tube. the tightening knob is plenty big enough, if you over torque the tool you'll crush the tube as he did. when used correctly it also makes pretty clean cuts that 4 turns from a manual de burring tool should finish fine.

Hey Jay, just a heads up. I have the same kind of power tools as you on your peg board. You should *REALLY* leave the batteries out of the drill and impact gun. The micro controller will have slight drain on the batteries and eventually kill them prematurely. The issue with this is if the cells drop below some voltage (like beyond dead) it will greatly shorten the life span of the batteries (and they're not forgiving).
Anyways, storing the batteries at 60% - 100% is best while not in the power tool (and obv not on the charger all day)

Hey Jay; firstly awesome content as always. Just thought i'd give a little advice; I work in the hydraulics industry for Hydroscand, although sanding the endges may give better grip. It will also cause wear to the o-ring, yes the vibrations from the pump are small. But combined with the heat cycling the system will see it will speed up the wear. The seals are the most common failure point of hydraulic systems.
    Regards from over the pond.

    • @Jayztwocents

Your hydraulics are under FAR more pressure than this system EVER would be. Sanding the ends of these metal tubes has been done for years and it never damaged the orings.

Go to a model shop and get some chrome leaf. It's a very very thin chrome layer you can lay on the item you want chrome, then you just rub it on with a qtip. Once on you just clear coat and done.
We use it for bumpers on module cars, instrument panels, I did an entire plane once that turned out great, looked like aluminum with the right weathering applied.

It'd be kinda cool if you could somehow combine the pump, reservoir, and distribution plate into a block of components.
Rotate the distribution plate 180° from the position you had it, where the fatter end is lower, put the pump behind the plate, then find a reservoir that would fit the cutout the plate has. A cuboid reservoir would work well, part of it could stick out past the distribution plate, while the back portion could sit over the pump. Not only do you keep the distribution plate, you hide the pump which would have been difficult to integrate into the theme, and you're able to add some depth with the plate and reservoir combo is three dimensional rather than fairly planar.
The reservoir may not look large, but you're also filling up the depth introduced by layering the pump and distribution plate, rather than the typical reservoir that fills the height of the case. I also mentioned rotating the distribution block, to put the reservoir up higher and more central in the case, because this would result in better accomplishment of adding dimension to the looks, where not rotating the distribution block would result in the reservoir being in the front bottom corner where it wouldn't add much to the aesthetics.
But there's honestly too many ways you could incorporate that plate, my suggestion is just one of them. All depends on how much work you want to put into the build to keep it. But I personally think hiding the pump and having more 3-dimensionality in the aesthetics would work well for the theme. Plus it'd be something different to do, rather than just using the same basic set of components in a similar layout to most builds.

So as one who does a lot of pipe tube work you may be shooting yourself in the food with the sanding. All compression fitting need a smooth surface to grab and cut there one groove into the pipe to get a solid water tight pressure tight seal. You can get a hand reamer I use one that's like a pen with change able blades and you should get some copper pipe sand paper to sand the cut ends and you'll get less deflection with slower tightens and more spins each tighten

You should wash your EK CE 420 before installing, it took me more than half an hour to rinse out all the black flicks and flux. Since you’re using metal tubing like I was originally thinking of using you need to make sure everything is clean including all your fittings. You’re not going to see the debris till it starts accumulating on your water block and cause a problem. It took me a month of planning and changing my mind to make a final decision on my build, because I don’t want to go back to fix things I didn’t think of beforehand.
