    I am avoiding VV these days....price gouging!!! The dresses are $22-25 (I can buy nicer new dresses at winners for that price).
    Anyway, I thrifted at the local church thrift instead & got 9 items for less than $27!
    I found an amazing vintage wool cape type coat, 2 slacks (1 vintage), a vintage tapestry skirt with lining, an amazing vintage blouses, 2 vintage sweaters, a vintage crop boxy blazer, a chocolate brown vintage ultrasuede button up fitter dress and a vintage brooch.... An awesome haul!! I'm set for the rest of winter & transition to spring in a couple of months!!!!

      Wow that sounds like an incredible haul!! Definitely how all thrift stores should be operating. I wish I had more options closer to me, but VV is the most convenient 💔

    Couponing (& those email discounts that line up time/item wise) are definitely key at VV!

    I live in Ontario and have 3 V.V's in my area and the prices are all over the place. They will have a vintage Levis for 7.99 and a pair of Walmart jeans for 9.99? I miss the 50% off days from before Covid.

      Yes the sporadic pricing is one of the most annoying things. It's a thrift store, all jeans should be one set price!

    I would have got the black lace dress , even at twenty dollars , if it was on sale at a vintage shop it would have cost loads more , amazing !!!!

    It sucks that prices have gone up because I don't like buying brand new items when there is so much used items out in the world.

    • @AlyciaThrifts
      @AlyciaThrifts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I completely agree. And at this point, brand new sale items seem to be cheaper than thrifting most of the time 😞

    okkkk but resellers are part of why vintage pieces are marked up

    • @AlyciaThrifts
      @AlyciaThrifts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are literally thousands of clothes in thrift stores. Me buying a handful isn't why there is a markup. Definitely recommend watching this quick video from an anti capitalist perspective! vm.tiktok.com/ZMYLxmaxd/

      i dont think what ur doing is evil or anything but i just think its weird to complain ab prices going up without acknowledging that youre a part of something contributing to that

    • @sarahreams7419
      @sarahreams7419 ปีที่แล้ว

      YOU buying a handful of items once or twice a year wouldn’t be an issue but when you have full time resellers buying tons of stuff on a weekly basis, THATS a major part of the problem. Then you/they turn around and make videos on how much they paid for it and what they can sell it for and Value Village and Savers (etc) are for profit businesses, they have marketing teams and are seeing how much money people are making. I don’t blame them at all for raising prices. If someone is willing to pay $40 for a pair of jeans they would have charged $8 it would be a stupid business move for them not to charge more. And whenever something is trendy, it automatically becomes more expensive…just something to think about

    Alycia your face is dropping, can it be these second hand clothing is getting to you. I strayed away from these due to Bori telling me their unsanitized. But, I found vintage clothing you can't find in department stores and it lured me back to the thrifting. People don't know what their throwing away, like they say "one man's trash is another man's treasure."

    Alicia prices have gone up everywhere. Maybe you need to go back to the USA.
