Incredible song, choreography, more cardio than I have done in a year!! This performance is extraordinary ...every time that I watch that I end up with a big smile on my face!!! They are amazing, the happiest sounding sad song ever... David Byrne is captivating!!! thank you for this great reaction!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Back in the day I had such the hots for Lynn Mabry she's singing far right on the stage .. what a great band and a great movie what just got re-released IN 4K which naturally being in the boonies i've yet to see but it's supposed to kick some ass. Cheers mate//
I feel in love with Tina Weymouth the Bass player in the 80's,she was underesimated in the sound and rhythm of the band, she held it altogether and had the band in fantastic up beat pace.
You still have much to discover from this seminal band! "Little Creatures" is a phenomenal album, to name just one. "Mr. Jones," Nothing But Flowers," and "And she Was" are three banger beauties right there!
Best ending to a concert "Does anyone have any questions?". A great band, brilliant supporting musicians for this concert and the way David Byrne's mind works is amazing.
Saw this in the cinema today made me very happy as its one of my 3 favourite live films, the others being big time by Tom Waits and all that glitters is a mares nest by Cardiacs all put the bggest smiles on my face
This Fabulous track takes me right back to 1984. I was 21 years old, the year that Apple released that spectacular 'Apple Macintosh' commercial....... heralding a major shift into a whole new world.
Listening to Talking Heads' music their musical Rythmn is very catchy, upbeat and make you dance , this is true good music. 80's music gave very good bands and still be present in our lives, thanks for the video Rory👍👌👏🏻 💫
❤ This will never get old. Thanks, Luke 😊 So happy you've taken the Talking Heads plunge, Rory! Also - just remembered an aerobics class from back in the day where the instructor included this tune on 'new wave' days ... complete with some of the moves.
I saw Byrnes show a couple years ago he ran around just as hard . Amazing show. Don’t worry about missing the music nuance because you will listen to this many times. If you love the Heads. Saw them more than a few times, wish I had gone more ☮️🐾🐾
I saw this concert when I was 20 in NZ. I'm a shy type but I like rhythm and I enjoy music immensely. Watching Talking Heads live inspired me to dance like nobody was watching and in turn became known as a dancer. Life's too short to be worried what people think. The freedom that Dave gave me to be open to dancing my feeling was immense.
I knew you would like this one the best it's a very well written lyrically and musically. David Byrne is a creative genius so I'm looking forward to more from this concert!!😊❤
David Bryne is sooo entertaining the whole band! I love this song, You just want to get up and dance, very contagious!! Very funky, love funky. Very very unique yep just like Gord and Ian i totally agree!! Awesome reaction Rory! You made me smile! Thank You Luke for this awesome request!! 😊🩷🤟✌️🔥
Loved seeing you react to this! I personally really love the choreography on Girlfriend is Better, and Born Under Punches, at least as well, maybe better!!
Love that you're enjoying them! Talking Heads was one of the early MTV bands that had wild videos they'd play over and over --because there weren't many videos back then! I've loved David Byrne for decades. Enjoy!
Every time I watch this, I’m shot right back to sophomore year in high school, the first time I ever saw Stop Making Sense. I can almost smell the room I was in. Every damn time.
Rory, when you get done with all the individual songs from this concert, you will have finally seen the greatest concert movie of all time... And I saw this tour 😉
Love that you're getting into the Talking Heads. My fav band. Slippery People is my fav of the show. Not sure if it's for copyright or the link but this video is sped up just the slightest bit.
If you want a sad Talking Heads song, listen to Heaven. I can't quite explain why it feels devastating any time I hear it, but that's what Byrne is so great at... visceral lyrics, not logical lyrics.
Saw this tour way back in 1983, just caught the 40 yr anniversary movie theatre release (remastered digital and sound) this weekend. The energy and frenzy on stage makes me feel like I'm on the run during the blitzkrieg. Known as the best concert film of all time and I agree.. Fan for life.
Because of watching these reaction videos I happened to look up a few details on song. Again - they were my gateway to all the weird music I craved but had to look harder to find because I lived in Ohio. This always felt like a bit of teenage rebellion energy - and I definitely felt like, just get this high school done & get me outta here. Turns out Byrne wrote this song about living on Ave A and 7th street (on the corner of Tompkins square park) - I actually live 4 1/2 blocks away from Ave A & 7th for the past 28 years! I love watching you discover this amazing band!! Taking my husband to see this concert film later tonight in Brooklyn. ❤😊
Probably my favorite two tracks/performances from them in one day 🔥Always said about David that as an art school dropout, as some of the great musicians were, it seems that he approached all facets of composing and performing as if it were an art project. May have missed his calling as an aerobics instructor though
The greatest period of TALKING HEADS, FEAR OF MUSIC and REMAIN IN LIGHT are both great albums, they were some neurotic funk punk, there is no band you can compare with them
David burn is probably close to 70 years old. It's just been in the last 5 years hbroadway musical using his music which he scored and probably helped choreograph. He spends a lot of his time in Idaho in the United States and he's known for writing a bicycle most of the time to get around. He is just a genius I love him. And Tina Weymouth th best bass players male or female or whatever gender you want to pick
Love this video and your reaction! If you’re looking for great bands, have you tried Steely Dan? If not Peg, Deacon Blues, Reeling in the Years and Do it Again are a great places to start
I had a look through your reactions .. fantastic .. have you done this one yet? Sorry if I missed it 'Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) [Live Stop Making Sense]' was a little kid with a few bucks and bought this stop making sense cos I thought 'talking heads' sounds like a cool name.. mind blown. My fav song by Talking heads is th-cam.com/video/qyAF2hFIYNA/w-d-xo.html if you never heard check it out mate. Thanks so much and keep it up
“Does anybody have any questions?” David Byrne is a genius! 🤣
Shout out to Tina Weymouth on bass!
Tina Weymouth is a bass goddess! Such a funky groove.
Incredible song, choreography, more cardio than I have done in a year!!

David Byrne is a genius so incredibly creative.
They just reissued this movie in 4k in theaters again here in the US .
Top three concert films are Woodstock, The last Waltz, and Stop Making Sense. The whole band gets a workout on this one lol.
I feel in love with Tina Weymouth the Bass player in the 80's,she was underesimated in the sound and rhythm of the band, she held it altogether and had the band in fantastic up beat pace.
Love this song and this performance😂❤I watch it every few weeks....

Refresh page 👍🏻
I saw this concert. It was everything and more. 😁💖

most underrated band in a long time!!!!
The band with the best cardio in the world!!
Bernie Worrel is the man!
Has to be top 3 live performance of all time ❤
Love that you're enjoying them! Talking Heads was one of the early MTV bands that had wild videos they'd play over and over --because there weren't many videos back then! I've loved David Byrne for decades. Enjoy!
I follow these dance moves lately because of the re-release of the movie for the 40th anniversary. I was just bouncing to this the other day.
My fav performance from this set!
brilliant artists...The golden years of music
Not many performers could actually _lie down_ in the middle of a song, and still hold the attention.
Jim Morrison maybe...
@@lepetitoiseaudefinitely and Michael Hutchence did also!

I don't see anybody mentioning here that this was directed by the guy who did Silence of the Lambs.
Several of us told him about Jonathan Demme since his first reaction to Stop Making Sense ...It was Psycho Killer ...
Wouldja

I changed my hairstyle so many times now, I don't know what I look like.
I got three passports, couple of Visas - don’t even know my real name!

The entire album "Remain in Light" is brilliant New Wave.
Thanks.
I've always wondered, concerning David Byrne and how much cardio he does during a whole concert, what the equivalent would be in miles run.
Stunning reflection on Cold War paranoia ❤

You know what I like about bands back then especially the women they wear clothes they depend on their talent not their bodies to get by
Yesss!!🔥🔥🔥

Have you done the B52’s? Another fun band
Check out David Byrne. Sessions at West 54 Street...miss America...so different but so good 👍
Am I the only one who sees a bit of Gord Downie here? (I just finished typing this sentence when you said the same thing, Rory!)
prolly a 2 or 3 mile song
Second only to LZ, imo.
